Wight King BSB Conversion

Hello everyone,

I have just started making my WK BSB and just wanted to share with you idea for this little conversion

Still have no idea how to remove part of his head/neck inside armor, but I'm working on that. And how to make banner (green stuff?)

Do you have a little Dremmel hobby drill? If you have something like that use one of the rounded or spherical grinders and just place it in the neck cavity. Alternatively set a normal drill up in a vice and very carefully drill out the neck. You can then sort anything out with Greenstuff.

If drilling is not an option, try getting a really sharp scalpel and shaving away at the neck remnants. You can then file this to your liking. Is it going to be metal or Finecast?

Nope, i don't have hobby drill, but I will have to buy it ASAP for this kind of work.

I have tried scalpel, and it was pain in the ass... Now i have drilled it and it looks kinda ok

Happy to help, I'm glad it worked ok for you. I seriously recommend a hobby drill, I haven't used mine for a while but it's an essential part of my tool box. Probably less so now they've introduced Finecast, but still, a worthy investment!

Still have problem with flag pole, I have put poles from spears, but that will not survive first transport

I was thinking more like some skull with crown, rather than Krell, because he is kinda next on list to buy

very good conversion!

for the pole i can strongly recommend getting some brass rod and drill through the hand. That way you can have a one-piece banner pole that wont break very easily.

I still have no flag pole, and i will go with brass rod or some other metal.

Depending upon the length you want for the banner, using a large metal paperclip and clipping it off right at the curves is probably about the right length.

That's what I used for the wight king standard bearer I'd kitbashed from Mantic stuff from the skeleton crew sprue.

A picture of it is in here, though I couldn't get one that looks 100% correct even with just the blur for some reason.

I can also recommend the bras rod route.
When I converted an Old Blood on Carnosaur, I pinned the entire length of his weapon.
Then when he did take a tumble off the shelf, it miraculously survived.

He looks good so far, though can I recommend a head that doesn't have a large hole in it?
I think it detracts from the finished effect somewhat.

I kinda like hole in head, it looks like scar on face


Update is coming soon, I'm just waiting for friend of mine to give me banner from ogres that i will use here.
