Wind Blast!!

So I thought of this while considering Lore of Heavens for a Bret army, LOL go figure.

Wind Blast and Rod of Flaming Death seems to be a hilarious combo. I'm sure I'm not the first to think of this so here is my question. I'm pretty sure Wind Blast will force the hits from the Rod but what about the hits from Wind Blast? If the unit doesn't hit impassable terrian or another unit will the Rod of Flaming Death force Wind Blast hits?

A level 2 vampire with Iceshard Blizzard (for screams) and Wind blast holding The Rod of Flaming Death seems like the combo king. And yes I know thinking of the idea and actually getting the spells rolled are 2 different things, but possibilty is just funny to me. Let me know what you guys think! Thanks.

You are certainly correct that rod+wind blast will cause the unit to take the moving penalty as the description States it will take effect if it moves for any reason. (Unless the unit was already in contact with impassible terrain). However as the unit moves it won't take the wind blast hits unless it runs into something as well.

Very hard to get off though as you need to not only roll wind blast but also get both spells off in the same phase which no sane opponent will let you do if he can avoid it.

Yes, Lore of Heavens. Target is 'pushed away' D3+1" away from the caster.

Unfortunately, the combo doesn't work. The extra hits from the rod are only done if the unit moves during it's next turn.

You are right! It's a suble difference but important in this case. Guess you have to get a fire mage as well

Would a Wizard that uses the Lore of Shadow attribute to teleport out of the RoFD-affected unit also get a S4 hit?

That's a good question, and I am not sure if there is a clear answer to that. I would think that, yes, the wizard and his unit would all suffer the hits if he teleports out. But does teleporting count as moving? We probably need an FAQ.

Anyone else have any thoughts?
