I *really* like that casket model you've got going on. For the most part, I intend to remain a vampire counts purist. I don't want to bother with all that Khemri stuff. Gimme crusty old necromancers and a horde of zombies and I'm happy. BUT! Your casket makes me think twice... Plus I can't help but imagine you'll more than do it justice with the paint job, just like the rest of your army! :)

This is absolutely brilliant! The colour scheme is similar to the one I basically lifted straight out of White Dwarf, it basically inspired me to dust off my old collection. And I absolutely love the Casket, I've seen a couple of attempts at it but yours is awesome, I might just have a go at something similar!

That is looking awesome, man. Gunna use Grave Guard as Casket Guard? That seems the go to choice for a VC Casket.

Thanks, pretty happy with how it's turning out (except not sure about the motif on the tomb yet). As far as guard I'm not sure yet. I'm kinda leaning towards nothing (but will have a spirit popping out of the tomb), as grave guard lean forward too much as if they're in motion, whereas I like the tomb king casket guard pose. If I do put something on there I do like the wight king BSB model I got from forgeworld, though I might have to kitbash something besides a banner on him.

Another update on my casket.. Taking a lot longer than expected lol. Spirit is finished. Only thing I have left to do is decide whether I want to add a casket guard and/or the floating book of nagash.

WING MAGNETS! Those arm sockets are perfect for them, you'll need like a third of the original storage space and you'll get less damage in transit.

Great idea with the magnets! I might try some of that with my Mortis engine.. thus i could buy the parts and make a coven throne too HMMM

@13ingo Good job with the magnets, giving me ideas for my army awaiting paint (and partial purchase).

Just some ideas concerning your casket:

-how about some torches around it glowing with blue or purple fire?
-some of the old school games workshop undead models could work well as casket guard, the armoured skeletons in particular. Check ebay for 'warhammer undead oop'

Gorgeous paint jobs! if i ever do a (undead legions list) I'd love to try to make a casket of souls like that! I need to buy the tomb kings book hehe.

@13ingo Love your blue ghouls man! Makes me want to go out and work on a unit of em! Awesome change from the typical greeny grey.

How did you paint them? If you don't mind me asking

Sorry man, only just noticed your question! Basically black undercoat, basecoat with dark reaper, wash with drakenhof nightshade, layer with thunderhawk blue, highlight with fenrisian grey, then watered down a bit of guilliman blue glaze and that's about it I think. The ghoul king I went into a bit more details and highlights/blends though.

Also, the terrorgheist isn't magnetized.. Though I do plan to give it a go otherwise transport will be a nightmare (it's already bad enough without wings)
