Hey,

Started this here as I've been teased by friends and employees alike for taking the miss to see the Backstreet Boys. Yahoo. They aren't that bad, they can sing a cappella fine, but yeah; definitely not the band for me.

I do think this is the worst thing I've done for the miss, in regards to how much I'm being razzed for it. Will it ever end?

Anyone want to console me with a worse story of something they've done for someone?

Hmmm, spent 5 years of my life (albeit teenage life) mooning after a girl who obviously wasn't interested, treat me like a slave because she knew I would do anything, pretty sad eh?

Hope that makes you feel better Grish!

i would rather not say.....

actually, to be honest, i can't think of anything, although i'm SURE there's something.
all i can think of is, an ex of mine, i paid for EVERYTHING for her, i got a 1,500$ check from work and spent every last penny on her and even some on her cousin, thinking it'd make her like me more. after almost 2 yrs of relationship, she cheated on me with my best friend, and they've been together since.

Ouch...........o_o

Meh. I've asked a girl for a walk once on a camping. It was not a nice experience since she said 'I'll think about it' and hahhaha, I knew from the instant it spelled doom. It was unexpected for her, that's what the conclusion was from me when she said that. She saw me more as a friend because she said that.

The next day I asked her again, in hope, but she didn´t even remember a thing... blegh how about that! I told her that it didn´t matter, and went off. It did hurt though!

That´s maybe the only time I´ve ever done a thing with women in general. A bit sad of adolescence story.

Got over it?

I take it you haven't read what kind of person are you thread then?

Yes I got over than ages ago, it was from when I was 12 - 17, since then I've had a sham of a marriage, divorced and now in a lovely relationship with my gorgeous missus and babie - all at 23!!

Though to be honest it did take me leaving school and not being around her to get rid of those thoughts..........

I was fully prepared to go see Elliot minor with a girl I liked on Valentines day this year. I wouldn't even go with my then girlfriend when she asked to go(we broke up in january so I got off on that front). Apart from that I can't thnk of anything I really feel like sharing, though I suppose even going out with my ex trumps anyone here(if you've seen her you'll know why lol)

@DoN, I was the same as you lol, 3 years of liking a girl who I had no chance with at all(mainly cause I don't get drunk every night on the local beach and don't play football lol

Nothing out of the ordinary. You know the usual, enduring hours upon hours of shopping and such. Though I suppose one took the cake so to speak. A date set for a date, she made no indication she wouldnt show, till one hour before it. Now that isnt all bad in itself but the fact I had put the effort into preparing a nice dinner for her. Her excuse was some crap I didnt even bother listen too, let alone remember. Yay for idiots who think other people should put their life on hold for them just in case they would decide to grace you with their presence. Yes, I am still single and loving it... well myself, I am a great person :)

An Ex.... paid the way... he ended up stealing $600 off me and my house keys! (Yes, I am Gay)

In the end... I spent nearly $800 on him!

Then he had the temerity to tell all the other guys I hung with that I was a psycho..... He'd just better hope that I never catch him.... grrrr

Amorte!

here's another one, one in which i get alot of flack for, but, you can't help who you love.

my current gf is bisexual. we'd always talked about possibly bringing another girl into our bed, a one time kinda thing. she said she wouldn't feel comfortable sharing me with someone else, but that i could watch them both get it on. (eh, i'd rather be having fun too, than just sitting there feeling like a perv), but we'd always agreed that neither of us would ever do anything with anyone besides each other, unless the other okayed it, and was present. so, she goes out for the night with her college friends (basically all girl only class). i give her 40$ to go have fun too (she doesnt need more, she's a cheap drunk).

next day, she comes back and starts saying she thinks she'd rather be with girls than guys, that we should break up etc.
i find out a couple days later that she cheated on me with a lesbian girl from her class... we break up, i move out, she starts having a relationship with said girl, it isn't working out....

i guess she was just confused, cuz after 2months of being apart, she came crawling back to me, begging me to be with her, that she made a mistake and can't live without me. i was very wary, but she seemed really sincere.

eventually, i took her back, but i still dislike the girl she got with, especially since the friday i met the girl for the first time, had her in my house and took her out for drinks with my gf, the next night they are off sleeping together.... home wrecker much?

anyways, i get a huge amount of flack about taking her back. we've been together about 3-4 months again, and my gf seems more in love with me than ever, which is nice. it really is. we've talked about getting married down the road, having kids (she wanted neither before).

so, that's my tale of heartache and woe, and what i've done for love.

*edit* - needless to say, i don't ask for 3 somes now :P

Sadly I don't have the emotional capacity to hold on to anger for more than a few minutes let alone love. Not that I have a low attention span, I'm just a very apathetic person. And whether it's a defensive mechanism or I forced myself into it I don't linger much on the emotional level, and have a very 'no attachment' mentality, causing me to apear as a very cold person.
Ahh well best if I don't try to enter into any relationships.

Well, looks like people have had much worse experiences than enduring a concert. Kinda makes me feel guilty that I'd even approach it this way.

Reminds me about what I did. I asked my ex's best friend out(The ex dumped me cause she fancied my best mate before you lot think I'm an arsehole), the girl avoids me for 2 weeks then forgets about it lol. That said, Leah Hussey ain't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed so it doesn't hurt too much lol

Hmm I can be angry but I do feel somewhat connected. My main problem now is that I'm nearly unable to communicate with people anymore. Only with some basic friends and family, and it sucks. I did it myself though, so it's my fault. I tend to 'mentally masturbate' too much. Before you think I'm a perv, it means you think too much. And it's true - too much thinking about tactics for games, warhammer, how to paint something, etc. They are simple things, but if you think about it (lol), it makes sense. You need balance in EVERYthing. This is the only way to success, with about everything in life. This also includes communicating.

Well everybody has theirs problems. In my case, I didn't have a hard story to tell either.

Yet I had other problems. It sounds weird, but there were 2 moments in my life that could have been my death! (I'm serious! CN wouldn't have existed if that happened.. ZOMG!)

Everyone has their problems, be it financial, relationships, life or death, etc.

I hate it when loved ones steal money - gets me so angry, plus you'll find we're a very open minded forum here so no worries about anyone being funny with your sexual orientation.

Wow, this seems to be getting more and more a normal thing. My gf is bi too, but she always prefers men over women, still I get to watch her do things with her gf, join in and I can actually sit and talk with her about whether a woman looks hot or not which is a good thing.

I understand why you did it though, you can't help you heart and the things you do when you in love is ridiculous.

I hope it works out well for you.

thanks DoN, one of the very few who have actually said something nice about it.
my parent don't even talk to me really anymore.

the whole girls being bi becoming more common... i dunno if it's just me, but maybe girls inherently have that like of same sex built in, more-so than the male population and are just admitting it nowdays? or because of media portraying it as the cool thing to do (i kissed a girl song)... i dunno why, but in the last 3-4 months, i've known like 8 different girls come out saying they were bi, that otherwise were not beforehand.

my gf on the other hand, i know is. she's had some serious relationships with girls, dating back to around 14ish? we'll see a girl walk by and chat about her looks and such, which is kinda cool. after the whole her cheating on me thing with another girl though, i wouldn't be able to see her with a girl, have a 3 some, or such..... just thinking of it turns my stomach (not because i'm against hoomosexuality, because in her doing that act was part and parcel of how i lost her before, and i don't want to lose her again).

i think it would be a very hard thing to deal with after something so traumatic, with the break of honesty and trust being a key factor.

I understand fully where you are coming from, after an incident like that you would not want to do anything that reminds you of the incident and thus brings back the feelings of hurt, never mind risk it happening again!

I do want to say one thing, and that I'm really impressed at how mature and open people are here on CN, I can't imagine thread like this working on any other forum.

Come on people - tell us your stories, of love lost, unrequited or anything else! Or maybe you need some advice in loves matters?.......

Pff the thing with love is that I never experienced it for real... :'(

Yes and anyone saying they hate or dislike homosexuals will get spanked !

Hmm I think it has to do that women are way more open to emotions. They are naturally more emotional. Here in the Netherlands it's known that there are 'secret' meeting spot for homosexuals, predominantly 'used' by men.

Men are naturally more shy to admit this. Maybe they don't even see a reason for it. I don't know. But trust me, there are enough people open to saying they are homosexual men. It's also interesting to note that many fashion designing men, hairdressers and many jobs around fashion are taken up by homosexual men.

That is a fact.... Also we have a big group of other semi-famous gays (they appear on tv, considering of magic trick performers, cooks, singers, etc).

But maybe naturally the Netherlands is bit more open towards it.

I've seen programs, of which many come from the United States, and some parents are way too strict in many things. Way too religious too, in my opinion. And I thought I had a bad life :P

It's more socially acceptble for girls to kiss. Has nothing to do with genetics or naturally emotional. I mean ask yourself this...
You think girls wore pink furrcoats in the stone age? Or better, or that men drove cars? Also, it is not socially acceptble for men to show emotion unless they want to appear "girlish" or "emo". It all come down to which way we get brainwashed growing up. A rater cynical point of view, perhaps but I believe it to be true.

I'd say europe in general are much more liberal when it comes to same sex relationships and such matters.

Thanks Ladies and Gentlemen.... I mean I personally have no issues with what people do in the bedroom.... but for the sake of decency I don't like to, sell myself.

As long as you took the lessons from the scenario, the good and the bad... hopefully it won't happen again (This was written for everyone)

I often used to get caught up in the past (woe for me) but I learned that the Past can be used to propel us forwards into a more confident future. The Lessons are what keep me going :)

True, but the underlying societal belief structure is what makes this possible. So we're basically saying the same thing. :)

After all of this I actually may be glad that I'm apathetic. Hurray for non-attachment.

In my opinion, no. But who cares. :P Non attachment often leads to lonelyness. More importantly, it may indicate traumatic experiences.
