3 wounds a piece....5 str 6 attacks for the wrathmongers and d3 impact hits and only 60 points a model? I all of the sudden feel so very underwhelmed with my crypt horrors....morghasts....grave guard...I mean shit even your vampires are gonna get pulped by that...after they kill one or two of them they are gonna return the favor right quick.

Lets not forget the skullreapers...cheaper...only str 5 with 4 no 5 str 5 magical attacks...cause you know couldn't even let ethereal be a hindrance. 3 attacks base + for their special paired ensorcelled weapons. Chaos just got vampires. for 50 points a model.

They are very good indeed D:

But are Rare (I think) and KB just does wonders with them :D I don't think people will rank them up too since they are normal infantry (albeit bulky infantry), so a unit of standard 5 dudes costs as much as Blood Knights D:

You are basically getting blood knights though, but with impact hits instead of horses.

The khorne guys are good, but they do not out class crypt horrors or morghasts. Both of which are T5 and monstrous infantry that heals 1+level. The khorne units are T4, infantry and only boosted strength some of the time. Archai are strength 6 all game, every round. Plus they are undead, have anti crumble aura, they hover and have killing blow. So I don't understand the notion that we got the worst of the end times units.

Well morghasts would lose that fight. And in the overall scheme of things a flanking unit with hover isn't too useful being unable to break ranks at any number and they can't hold vs static res -1 crumble means fairly little when you lose by 3-4 and drop a 90 point morghast.

While I'm a big proponent of the morghasts as the toolbox unit they are, we simply aren't getting the crushing power of a stormfiend or the blood knights in ogre form that are the wraithmongers.

Only way I could see morghasts competing is if I'm remembering incorrectly and wraithmongers aren't packing a great armor save.

I'm too tired to play around with specfic math. Morghasts aren't flankers like varghiest are. The hover let's them charge more reliable and over other units. It let's them get in position easier and make running from them harder. As MI they can stop the wrathmongers. T5 means cancel 50% of hits. Morghasts are losing one model a turn, and healing right back up with IoN and lore attribute. T4 khorne unit is ground down fast. 2 rounds.

I think redirect and scream

They may have a scary looking profile, but they are still only infantry with a 4+ save and most importantly movement 4.
If much rather fight these than the blight Kings.

T4 W3 4+ save, apply Konrad and vanhels and enjoy :)

Hardly matters though really. As a rare choice they compete with the unit deleting rats. I can't imagine you'd ever take them over stormfiends.

Of course, now there's no army selection requirements at all you could just pick both... maybe with some bloodcrushers and blightkings to spice things up a bit...

I'm gonna be the odd one out. Wrathmongers are not good. They are M4 and that is all it takes to make them uncompetetive. They lack a good save and they are expensive. They are 'meh' at the very best. I don't see what they will do for a Chaos general that others units doesn't do better. Now Blightkings are good.

I've got to say I agree with The Sun King, I think the major factor isnt just movement (although movement IS a major factor) it is also the fact they are not monsterous infantry, and that makes a big difference. Only 1 supporting attack so unlikely to see more than 5 in a units to maximise attacks, so that is only 15 wounds or 5 killing blows required. Good unit of grave guard with GW would kill this unit, yes they would take some casualties but we can get them back, but GG hitting on 3's with banner and wounding on 2's and the wrathmongers get no save, i think that is an easy 15 wounds, bearing in mind any 6's are actually 3 wounds. And with van hel's/hellish vigour you are laughing. Yes they will probably kill 10 - 15 GG but couple of turns they'll be back. Plus we have screams, gaze of nagash etc, I wouldnt worry too much about them

Now that I've slept, Sunny says a lot of things I thought I typed lol. Could of swore I mentioned GoN for example. Morghasts are good. Really good. They synergize with our army.

These khorne units are only T4 so are easily wounded. They do have 3 W, which is good. They hit decently hard with a good number of attacks. But they are simply hammer units with a M 4. Useful, but not broken and not the best of the end times so far.

They don't impress me either but I'll just add in that Banner of Swiftness was taken on Blightkings with a Doombull thrown into the mix so maybe we'll see something similar with these new fellows?

Both the new Khorne models are pretty awful. T4, mediocre saves, M4, HUGE frontage (40mm, only 1 supporting attack), and - worst of all - frenzy. They have no synergy with the rest of the army, don't serve a roll that another unit couldn't perform better, and they're absurdly expensive for the role they do have.

If they were core I might be impressed, as a points-denial strategy. In rare they're replacing skullcrushers, and aren't even remotely in the same league as them.

Magic attacks are also one of the biggest nerfs in the game, given the importance of BotWD in the current meta (especially as against WoC). WoC are hardly pressed to find solutions for ethereal.
