Grrrr! A sinner! In the words of the blessed Corpsegrinder: Sinners shalt be exacuted by way of "rancid amputation".
I shalt let you off this once...

Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
Dio - Holy Diver
Iron Maiden - Live after Death

Is Live after Death way superior to Rock in Rio when it comes to Iron Maiden's live albums? I love Rock in Rio, but I've never heard Live after Death and other people seem to rank it higher. ;)

Ange, find someone with Live After Death, or the recently released dvd (was so happy they finally released it on dvd having thrown out my VHS copy about 6 months before when I moved), and treat yourself.

Rock In Rio is great, really fantastic. But Live After Death, well, alot of metal heads would consider it Maiden's finest release, not talking only live albums here, but overall.

It is THAT good. Great setlist, great band, at the very height of their power and success. Sure, they are doing great still nowadays (having seen them live a few weeks ago, for the first time in 15 odd years, I can attest to that), but Live After Death was a watermark.

It was my introduction to Maiden way back in around 87/88, and I can't think of a better intro to them. Seriously, treat yourself.

Seventh Son of a Seventh Son/Powerslave/Number of the Beast - Iron Maiden
Reign in Blood/South of Heaven - Slayer
Diabolical/Sheol/Harvest - Naglfar
Satanic/The Apostasy - Behemoth
Abigal - King Diamon
Dont Break the Oath - Mercyful Fate
Sworn to the Dark - Watain
Operation: Mindcrime - Queensryche
Dark Medieval Times - Satyricon
Tomb of the Mutilated - Cannibal Corpse
Annihilation of the Wicked - Nile
Peace Sells - Megadeth
Alters of Madness - Morbid Angel
New World Order - Testament
The Book of Heavy Metal - Dream Evil (for sheer hillarity)
Blood, Fire, Death - Bathory
Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyde (so cliche...grew up with that shit though)
Black Sabbath/Mater of Reality - Black Sabbath
Anthems to the Welkin Dusk - Emperor (but really, anything Ihsahan touchs is gold)
Love at First Sting - The Scorpions
W.A.S.P. - W.A.S.P.

Yes. It is.

Some of the tracks off Live After Death sound better than their studio counterparts.

WRECKING CREW- THE METEORS
IN SICKNESS & IN HEALTH- DEMENTED ARE GO
DANZIG- DANZIG
ANYTHING BY DIO, MERCYFUL FATE, BLACK SABBATH & SLAYER

having to choose three it would be
Darkthrone - Panzerfaust
Hypocrisy - Abducted and
Marduk - Those of the Unlight
followed by
Satyricon - Dark Medieval Times
Mayhem- De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas

I remember you from Uthluan.

Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark
Iron Maiden - Powerslave
Sonata Arctica - Ecliptica

As you can see, I'm a bit of a metal-fan. Although, since no band is exactly the same, grading them is a bit hard. So everything has their pros and cons in the end :D

- Loran

Iced Earth - Iced Earth
Stained Class - Judas Priest
Vampyrìsme, nècrophilie, nècrosadisme, nècrophagie - Theatres Des Vampires
