I asked this today in the store. He said it was just a normal cav base as it is just a normal mount with 1 mount. That is has an ability to fly didn't seem to matter.

I played the single player of the original first one. Indeed hopeless AI and even on hard the game was very simple. Then again, THQ is also responsible for Company of Heroes, a 'sequel' to DoW, with has a great AI. Therefore I expect this one to have a decent AI.

Zombies are your bes friends when it comes to a Necrarch list. Also use at least one Corpse Cart. Spirit Host would be the best choice for Special and Cairn Wraiths for Rare, although you also should really take a look at the DoW. A zombie giant for example is a perfect monster for a Necrarch...
