This argument assumes too much that you are actually getting off your IONs. You can't count on this always. I would most certainly take skeletons every time. I big block of 40 with a good vamp hero is pretty darn tough to kill. If you're talking about just skeletons with no character vs zombies...

I'd drop most of the zombies and get either some skeletons or ghouls for your core. That's my two cents.

I am rather new to Vampire Counts so take this for what it is worth. I would get a ward save of some kind on your vampire for starters. Armor save won't be worth squat against higher strength threats even with the reroll. He needs another way to save against wounds. I would say you have more...

Why take an enchanted shield? It's cheaper to just take a normal shield with dragonhelm. They confer the same armor save. heavy armor 5+ plus shield for 4+, plus dragonhelm for 3+. Sound advice for the spirit host. Any advice for dealing with horde of gors with 2 attacks each?
