    Jediguru's Riposte: updated 1/12/15

RE: A New Evil Arises So here's the finished unit. I know there is a lot of repetition as far as models go but that will be remedied once i've painted up more zombies and can switch out some from this unit. I just wanted to get 20 up and painted so i could play with them. Regardless, i am super...

    Jediguru's Riposte: updated 1/12/15

RE: A New Evil Arises I love painting zombies. They are so fun and quick/easy. I must admit painting on blood and blood splatters just never gets old. Here is the zombie from the previous update all finished. These two lost their lunch. Made up some intestines from a little putty.

RE: A New Evil Arises Thanks! Yep, love the mantic minis! Soooo much cooler than many of GWs models. Actually the unit has been sprayed with a matte sealer already. Take a look back at post #4 and you can see how glossy they are before being sprayed with the matte sealer.

Show us your Coven Throne/Mortis Engine

Nice work Santawraith! Did you magnetize to switch between CT and ME? Care to share how you did that?

    1000 Points for Beginner Idea

Seems like overkill on the heroes. i would bolster that skeleton unit up to minimum 30 and combine the two ghouls units into one just for starters.

    800 point Vampire Counts

I wish i had some insight for you but i'm pretty new to whfb too. The only thing I could see is maybe combine your two skeleton units into one and maybe take a lower lvl necro and a vamp instead of a master necro. it's only 800 points and a master may be a little overkill, plus by having a...

RE: A New Evil Arises Thanks for the kind responses! I've really enjoyed the time spent painting them and am really satisfied with how they turned out. Next up on the docket is ZOMBIES! Here's a quick preview of what's to come. I added some putty to the severed head to look like the head was...

    Jediguru's Riposte: updated 1/12/15

RE: A New Evil Arises Here is a finished skeleton using the paint scheme I described earlier. I'll post up the whole unit as soon as I finish it up sometime tonight or tomorrow. I'm real happy with the way it turned out.

    Bigcannon's VC army

Wow! I love your VC army. I for one am in love with the gobs and gobs of blood and gore! I also would be curious to know how you managed the blood and saliva effect. Your Skaven look sick too. Great work! GW should be paying attention to this thread. Top notch!

    Jediguru's Riposte: updated 1/12/15

RE: A New Evil Arises After spending a couple weeks cutting all the minis off the sprues (both the undead and dwarves) and assembling them. I decided to start in with the unit of skeletons. I really liked the effect the polyshade created on reds on the test models which is awesome being that I...

    Jediguru's Riposte: updated 1/12/15

RE: A New Evil Arises Was brain storming ideas on how I wanted to go about painting up my army and I did a ton of research on different techniques and came across dipping. If done well it can produce some very nice results with less work. So I started experimenting with this technique. I picked...

    Jediguru's Riposte: updated 1/12/15

So, I'm just getting into Warhammer and this is going to be my first army. Been doing a lot of research, planning, and forum lurking and I'd like to share with you guys what I've been working on. I love the undead and so a Vampire Counts army was a no brainer for me. I settled on using Mantic...
