One huge factor your forgetting about the zombie dragon is the -1 to hit factor. That is one of the best things you can take

1. Dire wolves,( multiple units of them are a great point denial tactic) they have so many other uses. 2. Terrorgiest, other then it's abilities, the physiological effect it has on your opponent is awesome. 3. Vampire lord, although expensive, the best at what he does.
