Really? Well in that case I look forward to the results.

For a future game I was hoping if it was >2000pts then you could take the Revenant and the Reaper, along with maybe a Mortuary Priest with an Ancient Warrior? I would like to see some feedback on them considering the discussions we have been having.

Yeah, was hoping to get in a game on the weekend, but ended up giving a mate a hand bailing out his caravan (king tides aren't fun!) I didn't take notes on the game yesterday afternoon but I'll be able to give you the gist...

Well, first off I lost (YAY!!!!) My list was similar to the previous 1500pt one:

Zenith Prince
Barded steed, shield, Dagger of Betrayal
wanted to do some nasty things with their combat heroes... my opponent took 2 mages...

Mortuary Priest
lvl2, Book of Control, Dispel Scroll

Mortuary Priest
lvl2, Book of Fear, Shadow shard

I took 2 mages to see how the list ran with heavy magic, and to try the combo of the 2 books (up my ws, drop their to hit...)

19 x Skellies with standard
19 x Skellies with Standard

My mainline, took up position either side of the main Pinnacle Guard block

10 x Favoured Ones
10 x Favoured Ones
10 x Favoured Ones

3 units to cover flanks/ support the mainline

16 x Pinnacle Guard with Additional Hand Weapons and Shields, champion, standard with Banner of the Ages.

Was going to give them spears, but with the Banner I thought they'd most likely be being chargers rather than chargees. I liked the thought of fielding them 6 wide with the Zenith Prince, 11 KB attacks sounded like fun!

5 x Pinnacle Knights with additional Hand weapons, scythed barding.
5 x Pinnacle Knights with additional Hand weapons, scythed barding.

A favourite unit in the list, has a nice weight of attacks feel to it (15 S4 on the charge) for its size.

Chaos, off the top of my head, had

2 x Nurgle mages, one with a ranged attack, the other with a bound spell, both had a sniping spell, one had a spell that gave regen, other spell wasn't used. One of them also had an item to add 1 PD to the pool.

2 big marauder units
3 small chosen units
2 marauder cav units
4 dog units
2 spawn

Essentially I saw the writing on the wall in turn 2 when he managed to finish off my Book of Fear toting Mortuary Priest, The Knights managed to pin down one unit of the fast cav before one was bogged down by spawn and the other was directed away by dogs, The skelly blocks took the marauder charge on the chin, and held out until the chosen of Khorne on the wings swung around after being led a merry chase by some Favoured Ones and hit me in the flank. The Pinnacle Guard charged into the centrally placed Khorne Chosen (with +1 Toughness!), pushed through and swung around in time to watch the last skellies crumble... Ended up in a combat against a block of marauders with the wings of the chaos army closing in...

Okay, the majority of my units essentially mirror my earlier thoughts, things that I tried this game

DAGGER OF BETRAYAL
Not the kind of item I usually take, a bit too situational for my liking, I didn't really get any chance to use it, and all he had was mages with high armour saves, so it would've been a lot of effort for 2 strength 4 attacks... would've been great against a combat Exalted though!

MORTUARY PRIESTS

1) Book of Control Priest - My surviving Priest, was handy in support, had hoped to combine making the Pinnacle Guard WS 7 with the book of -1 to hit (whats that WS 6 Chosen? your hitting me on 5's and I'm hitting you on 3's? poor things... lol) But sadly I only got half of it off...

2) Book of Fear Priest - Died before he could do much, 2 Priests on the field was very powerful though, I had a bad run of spells this game (read: not much offensive firepower lol) but when I had the 2 on the field my opponent had trouble holding me at bay...

Spells - Again, Whispering Spirits showed itself to be a very characterful and useful addition to my arsenal, Possession was handy to keep my remaining caster away from the enemy mages and still be effective (I really didn't want to loose a 2nd mage to the double shot or character sniping!). My Fear book mage had Visions of Doom, but it was scrolled the 1 time I got to use it, the other had Curse of Reanimation, (and oh how I wished I'd brought a power stone!) but didn't manage to get it off...

to continue (was posting at work and ran out of time! lol)

SKELLIES
Same old reliable bags'O'bones!

Favoured Ones
These did me proud, one had a stand off against a Marauder Cav unit all game, holding up his flanking force. The other 2 were sacrificed to delay his Khorne Chosen. Was sort of a shock to the system OMG I have a charge reaction!

PINNACLE GUARD
I'm keen to try a few more setups, was going to run them with spears/ shields but with the Banner I wasn't really going to BE charged, making spears less useful... Again, I'd still love to see them in full plate (4+ armour) as I think it'd suit the "Elite Graveguard" feel they have.... plus it'd help make not using shields a worthwhile option...

Banner of the Ages
Too big a decrease in the enemies charge, maybe just make it -D6" or else halve the distance?

PINNACLE KNIGHTS
I probably should've built them for anti-armour but weight of attacks was too tempting... especially with KB!
