Hi all - back from a long break from the hobby and I am now painting my army up full speed.

The list is built around a dual-lord set-up. The lords will use the enormous advantage of the ld that Vampire Lords have, unmatched by most other enemy characters. Basic wizards have ld 7 or 8 which makes Spirit Leach very effective on them. Not to mention that units like for instance Stegadon's have a basic LD of six and are such at a -4W disadvantage prior to throwing any dice. In addition, Leach wounds caused will give extra PD, so it will go first. It's really about being able to draw the right tool to fight any fight. Against most opponents, I will thus have two "must stop spells", probably drawing the scroll pretty early on. I also gave the lords some armour for protection, so lets hope I will be able to keep them alive. The Necro will hang back with the general lord in the bunker and focusing on getting a disco-dance of when necessary. The BSB goes with the GG and the Vampire Hero with the BK's.

My plan is to send the Black Knights up a flank and hit any artillery or taking out support units. The same with the fell bats that will target support units and war machines. I wanted to include the Black Knights as they can disrupt ranks at full strength, and thanks to the Vampire and the Strigos Banner, they pack a serious punch in CC. The Ghouls will make a bonus move in the beginning, and I hope to bring the GG's up to speed with a dance or two. The GG's will hit in CC like a ton of bricks, and the Vampire Supported BK's and the, possibly, Horde-formation Ghouls with the fighter Lord won't be bad either, so I think I have sufficient CC-support. Of course, I will hopefully be able to build up the GHouls as the game goes on as that is why I have summon ghouls on one lords.

I also think the list will be fun to play! Full steam ahead towards the opponent! But lets assassinate the characters and warmachines first...

As an additional note, I was going to include a Black Coach, but the local rules - stupidly, interpreted the ubiquitous wording of the rules in such a way that the opponent can force the VC player to suck dice before the opponent throws for WoM as the player whom's turn it is "gets to chose the order in which things are made", making the unit essentially useless.

Theme-wise they will be modelled in a snow landscape, and I have this wild idea of having a unit or two emerging from some solid ice - will have to see if I will be able to pull that one of! The Lords will need a story, and they won't be twins (maybe distant cousins?)!

Any thoughts welcome - haven't play tested it yet.

I beleive there has been a FAQ about the coach...they can't get out of having them sucked up.The skelly bunker seems kinda frail to me,I'd increase it to 20.

I will be most intreseted in hearing how you do with this list. I just have a couple of things:

- The vampire thrall could use a blood drinker to keep those BK´s topped of. It´s a bit expensive so you´d need to drop something if you choose to have it.
- That skeleton bunker looks awfully small. I have mine aroun 21-22 models. They´ll last the whole game. You dont want the 13th spell or something similar hitting your unit.
- Support. The lack of support worries me. Our rares are fantastic and you have none. An army with just big blocks could easily be flanked.

I remember that you posted something similar before your break, how did that work out? :)

Thanks for the feedback,

-the bunker could be increased in size, I agree

-for support, there might be a need for this, I guess the alternatives would be to

-drop the smaller Ghoul unit
-drop the fell bats
-drop the necro
-drop the BK's and opt for something like Cairn Wrights and more Ghouls

What type of support units have you found useful in 8th?

@Mikael.K - unfortunately just theoryhammer at this stage, I hope to get tangible gaming with the army soon enough

I´ve found that our rares makes really good support units. Personally I´ve used wraiths, black coach and vargh. I´ll be trying a 6 man unit of BK´s too to see how they do :).
