Hello all!

My LGC is organising a challenge to build and paint a 750pt list.
It is gonna be in 7th edition rules, because those where the rules they liked warhammer the most :).

I have never played warhammer fantasy before, I only have experience in 40k.
I always liked the idea of an udead army, so I chose Vampires!

We cant have any lord, only heroes.

this is the list i've come up with, not sure if its great, but i really like the models of it:

Heroes:
Vampire 185
sword(striking, battle or might?), the flayed hauberk
Dark Acolyte, , lord of dead

Core:
15x skeleton warriors, full command, 140pt
15x skeleton warriors, full command, 140pt

Special:
10x Grave Guard, full comand, 150pt
Varghulf 175pt

750pt

Any advice?
I am not sure if those items in the vampire are any good, but they seems to be good on paper.
Also I rather not have millions of models in the core, since it is also a painting challange.

Looking forward for your answers.

Are you using the 8th ed vampire book? o.o It was much different with 7th and I'm curious if everyone is using 8th army books with 7th rules or if I'm missing something

No, everyone is using 7th edition army books and rules.
I got the stats from 8th edition battlescribe, since I dont have the book yet. (this weekend I will) so its possible that some items are wrong.

I got my codex earlier then expected and realised my mistake: here is the new list:

Heroes:
Vampire 185
sword(striking, battle or might?), the flayed hauberk
Dark Acolyte, , lord of dead

Core:
15x skeleton warriors, full command, 140pt
15x skeleton warriors, full command, 140pt

Special:
10x Grave Guard, full comand, 150pt
Varghulf 175pt

750pt

I also edited the original post with this list.

Cool idea using 7th edition. Shortly before AoS was released me and a friend played some using the 6th edition armybooks, and it was great fun. Personally I think that edition was better balanced, but 7th can probably be fun too.

About your list, I think your units might be a bit small, but I don't really know what's best at this point level. One thing I can recommend for higher point levels is the Helm of Commandment. It was considered very strong back in that edition. At this small scale it might not be worth it though since you can probably get more out of the vampire by just using it in combat.

I'm quite interested in hearing how this all goes for you. So be sure to let us know :)
