@Dark Prince Plogs for the Plog God! I suggest everybody start one. They're great for inspiration and to keep motivated. I've had a lot of kind words and cool ideas come my way through The Dead Shall Walk. It's my favorite part of the forum. I'll keep an eye out for yours when it pops up.

The Bone Giant is ready to smash! He's not exactly a great option in the army, but that Reaper model was dirt cheap, and he was super fun to knock together. This was all done today because I was bored to tears on a day off from work.

I had decided not to touch a paint brush for a while since getting back from the tournament, but sometimes boredom gets you working. Thanks for looking!

@wheeljack Thanks! He's the Colossal Skeleton from the Reaper Bones line. We're talking like $15 USD. Very cost effective, and he's a cool model too. Check out @Mioum's plog for a cool Sandy Skittles themed version he uses as his Necrolith Colossus/Bone Giant. He's the one that convinced me to get ahold of that model.

@Adam_Barrow Fantastic work, that bone giant is far better than what GW currently has/had (with the release of all their action figure-sized minis, the giant just isn't a giant anymore).

Nice job on incorporating your army's colour into it too, with the ghoulish green head on his loincloth.

@Farmer7574 I'm stoked you noticed! The little zombo head was saved til the last because I'm sentimental. Are you zeroing in on your scheme yet? I know it's been a work in progress for a spell.

Oops, bought a Blood Bowl team. The Ironwood Infiltrators have arrived. Don't mind that ebay paintjob on the tree.

Well thanks for the kind words :D That model is indeed great and cheap, Bones is quite nice for larger figure, great monster on the cheap!

Yours looking great! I love that tombstone mace, looks brutal! Just couldn't keep it on mine :p I guess it's glued to the base? That thing was quite heavy for the spindly arm as I recall!

@Mioum Thanks, man! It was a lot of fun, especially being the sort of one day side project it was. And yep, the whole model was a little warped out of the box so I set the arms in place and then tucked the gravestone under the lip of the base--then I left it that way for months so the vinyl would bend to the desired shape. The joy of not being in any rush to finish it. It's glued down now, and that pulls the shoulders into the proper alignment.

@Adam_Barrow I have to admit that more or less all brush time has been spent on finishing those Goblins. I've been shaving mold lines off my VC (growing to hate zombie fingers) and writing down schemes I think most worthy of trying.

Should hopefully be starting up some test models next week!

@Borgnine Thanks, man! I marathoned it, and it was a good time. The Elves are going onto the pitch to bash some skulls--or rather, trying to run away from scary dudes who can crush their fragile bods. They're my new WIP Blood Bowl team. Started a plog recently for them (with a link in my sig).

Spent another day off throwing some Ethereals together. The backlog gets smaller by the day, and since I'm not painting towards a tournament anymore I get to put some work into projects just for fun.

While I can't think of an explanation why only a single strip of clothing on two of the Banshees should be non-etheral, this gives them a very good sense of variety and I like it very much xD Also, maybe they are screaming because they are all wearing corsets, even after death? Good job with them etherals

Projects for fun are the best :) Do you think you can reach the end of your backlog?

@wheeljack I'll take that compliment. Your blues are awesome.

@Borgnine I didn't show them from the back, but there's a big metal collar on one, and the other's hair covers all but the metal shoulders. All the cloth/hair/bodies on all of my ghosts are ethereal across the army, but anything wood/metal is painted as corporeal or "real". The idea is these ghosts can manipulate solid objects, which makes them scary to me. From the Engine to the Spirit Hosts, the Casket of Souls ghost holding a dagger to these Banshees, the theme is kept consistent.

I had fits with the Wraith, though, because his robe just had to be black to drive that Grim Reaper look home. So I decided the cloaks of the Wraiths in the Engine cloud had to be black too, as well as the scythe on the Hero Wraith of course. His skull and skelly hands that ethereal green really looks cool to me too, and it keeps him tied to all the other ghosts. This goes for for Ohuin my Heirotitan Undead Angel of Death too, himself being just a super Wraith basically.

Phew, I feel like that was kinda long winded as a response. But I've made sure to put the thought into it to make sure they all gel armywide.

@Borgnine And as to having the backlog finished, it's not too far off actually. To tally:

x3 ranks of Black Knights
Nagash
Mortarch Manny
x3 Necropolis Knights
x50 or so Skellies
x2 Screaming Skull Catapults (still not purchased)
x10 Hexwraiths
x30 Archer Skittles
x1 Wight King on foot

Aaand, that might be it actually. So honestly, not a terribly huge amount. The big skelly units will take the longest, but that'll be the main hurdle--and really, those aren't very complicated. Not a super deep list.
