Yorga you can never declare a charge on a mangler but instead must move on it as it follows the rules for fanatics. Rest of what the old man says is right though luke.

Oh...made me get my dusty O&G book out. You're right!

Nevermind.....

Woo! thanks for the rep and the notes. Good to know about the chariots' wounds - tho i'd have still done the same: try to finish it off, one wound or two.

You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders - The most famous of which is "never get involved in a land war in Asia" - but only slightly less well-known is this: "Never go against a High Elf when magic is on the line"! :clown:

Dude...your bad luck found were you were hiding. Plus your 'buddy' stacked the deck against you.

One thing I suggest is to never block your main killy force at the beginning of the game. My son has done this with his orcs and time and again it keeps him jammed up and unable to get them out into combat.

Yeah definitely learned the hard way about failing animosity with dudes in front. Stupid O&G need to stay in that leadership bubble, but also are too damn big and need to spread out. Such is life, i suppose. I'll play that different nextime.

Also im done with this horde of savages - it's too big! I need to go back to 2 fighting blocks: BOs and Savages - both in non hordes.

Quick quib for your buddy is eagles are on 50s not 40s

No they are not. They are/should be monstrous beast and on 40s. GW sells the the finecrap ones on 50s now but I don't use the finecrap ones.

GW did the same thing with Morathi. Metal Morathi which I own is on a 40mm and finecrap Morathi is on a 50.

I hate GW's stupid basing rules. "Use what the model comes with". Basing should be what the troop type is.

Good call. Maybe go 6 or 7 wide per rank. Should give you enough attacks and still let you maintain steadfast in most encounters. Not to mention the space it saves.

In that case you dont mind if i toss my daemon prince back on his 40? You use the most up to date base period otherwise why rebase dragon ogres it just makes them worsr

My DP is on a 40. :). And you don't have to rebase dragon ogres if you use the old models. Look in rhe rule book. The Druchii forum guys are fanatical about this rule.

Page number? And I would dock sports for that just saying

Well you would be a poor sport for docking someone sport points for following the rules. Page 80. Under Models and Base Sizes. "A model should always be modeled with the base it is supplied with."

Like I said, the Druchii folks are fanatical about this. If you have an old metal Morathi then you can fit her neatly into a unit of foot troops as she came on a 40mm. But the new Finecrap Morathi comes on a 50mm base and would have to be on the side of a unit of Foot troops. In both cases she does NOT get a Look out Sir (or madam) roll.

Now the issue with Eagles is that they are monstrous beast. Most monsterous beast are on 40mm bases. The Old metal eagles came with 40mm bases. I understand the new Finecrap ones are supplied with 50mm bases. Is that true? The trouble is that nobody uses GW eagles anymore since there are better ones out there (Gamezone). So what do you mount it on? Me personally, I'd go with 40mm since I had some 40mm GW metal ones at one time. Plus 40mm seems to be the default for monsterous beasts. FYI, if you look at the eagle model on page 85 in the rule book you can tell it is on a 40mm base.

But really...we have rerailed poor Luke's thread enough. Why don't you move our discussion to a new thread Mr. Mod. :)

Just one last quib most monsterous warbeasts are on 50s not 40s (Eagles, Spawn, Razors, Beasts)

All I am saying it is not that hard to rebase models as the "Base Supplied" rule can get insane once you start putting savage orc boys back on their old 20mms and such. It is a slippery slope

I LIKE THE COMPANY ! DONT GO... I'VE MADE TEA

LOL Luke! Another rep for you for winning again and letting Johnny and I bicker in your thread. There are times when one wants a bigger base. Like when the DP has miasma (the nurgle spell) on himself that affects all models in base to base contact. So 40 or 50...really doesn't matter to me. It does become important for things like the Peg rider in the unit of DE warriors. But even Bret Peg riders are on 40s so I don't see that as a big deal.

And Johnny all my spawn are on 40mm bases. They are all older models and came that way. Not rebasing buddy. The only reason my Dragon Ogres are on the new base is because I bought the new models (which I lurv).

I mean you CAN rebase old stuff if you want but you don't have to. We can use the old zombie dragon if we wish that came on a 50mm square. And tactically...you should. ;)
