Hey mate, i don't know about Denmark, but any clear red paint will do. I've tried 2 other brands so far and work great, just like tamiya's. Unfortunately, i don't remember their names now Go to a hobby store and ask

Those elves are very nice, in terms of bases I'd either go with what Mr Saturday suggested and use beach bases or go for ships decking styled bases.

Either would look very nice.

I have a question about how you do bases though, while you're on it; Do you fully paint models normally before putting them on their bases, and like remove them from those bases to put them on ones you make for them? Or do you just decorate the bases they are on already and make it look good from there?

I'm just a little curious.

Also nice Tutorial, I need to learn to use washes more, or various techniques, I feel like I restrict myself too much :zombie:

If it were up to me, I'd let you post your entire life story and images of dead cockroaches, let alone an army list. Heck, if I ever find you in real life I'll give you all the money in my wallet, my shoes, any hat I may happen to be wearing, and then my actual wallet itself. This painting is beyond godly. Whilst part of me cries out to tear into your tutorials and painting recipes, another part just wants it to remain a magical secret forever. Your painting is like Father Christmas to me, except it comes more often than once per year and I always have to clean up the mess I involuntarily make over my laptop whenever I look at the pictures.

Sir, words cannot describe the sheer, stunning beauty of these models. If the UN has any sense they will officially declare this plog the next modern Wonder of the world. Every single country on Earth should knight you, every single university should give you honorary degrees in every single subject, and anybody who gets to even smell one of your models should pay up a tribute of gold and diamonds.

Painting does not proceed beyond this level. This is Armies on Parade/Golden Demon/life-winning, divine art. Your paintbrushes sing like harps when they criss-cross over the surface of the model, and every paint watered down by your hand sighs in ecstasy. Every paintpot you pick up instantly fills with perfect, pure colour, every bristle on your brushes straighter than DoN on Santa's Harem Throne.

You have achieved what mere man can only dream of. I have nothing more to say.

HI All ~

First of all thanks Count Darvaleth for your kind words . as per my last post i am working on my high elf now while assembly my 12 more crypt horror, here is some progression i made for my High Elf and other random stuff taken from my camera memory card.


This is my Dragon guard(as Phoenix guard) test model using red color scheme instead of blue, because i wanted to try if i can play around with red to contrast with blue.

But finally ..........decided to stick to blue..

The Dark Eldar are simply stunning!
That Dragon Guard conversion is loverly, I do prefer the red though, an entire High Elf army painted like that would be sweeeeet!

Also, the weathering on the Berserker is fantastic...

Looking great so far. I really like the blues on the Dark Eldar! One trick you could do for OSL is to actually take a black and white picture of a model and its light source. I do that and it really helps. Black and white photos help you focus on lighting since there is an absence of color. Have a go at it

Here is some progress photos for what i did last 2 month beside the golden bat vampire lord, i am not sure when am i going to have a fully painted army.. with a new project coming soon(Chaos Daemon) maybe will work around 500 or 750 pts khorne only army and later expand it by adding nurgle.

i hadnt seen this topic before and i must say that you have some amazingly good NMM in here. i especially enjoy the skaven armour color. care to share what colors you base it on (maybe you answered this already but i didnt read the entire 9 pages ). Id like to experiment a bit with NMM gold but ive never found a good color to work around really. you seem to have just what i have been looking for

Hi Vectra,

The gold is pretty simple, i only have the old Citadel paint name and here is it

Snakebite leather + white to build up the hi-light and gyrosepia wash to wash the whole area again to balance the tone. and for darker area i will add some devlan mudwash to darken it.

You can try dessert yellow or snakebite leather, dessert yellow have much brighter tone.

Hi Maestro,

The blue is use here is the old citadel Enchanted Blue and highlight with Ice blue, just slowly build up the brightness with Ice blue then you will get the effect.
