Thanks, glad you like him. I Started with a yellow wash over a white undercoat. The green is called "Algae Green" which is by Secret Weapon Washes.
I cant wait to see the empire and ogres done up as undead King of Dead!

Crypt Horror 2 is done. I really like the look of him, but am starting to have my doubts about how well he matches the first one. Perhaps there is not enough red on him? I painted the lumps and bumps on his back in what I imagine bruised flesh prior to bursting open like Crypt Ghoul #1.

No blood on this picture. It still has several details to finish too. I quite like the look though, even with all the purples.
Next are shots of the "finished" Crypt ghoul along with some shots that have both of the finished together...happy family shots. I used the GW broken wheel resin thing for this base.

Now I know people have been commenting on your beautiful wolves (bla bla, amirite?), and the wonderful undead-ogres, as well as the overall excellence of painting and basing, but I feel that I really need to bring up the thing I think people are just totally over looking here..

At any rate, I am glad I accidentally stumbled onto this Plog, so that I can watch to see what mini you end up doing for this Christmas in July thing :devil2:

Looking good black bard, I love the ethreal feel to the eyes the nice glowing effect. Is that directional lighting or something else?
Smacks brahm upside head why bann him lets just fix it no matter how many posts he makes his count doesn't change. It will be funner that way.

Santa, the eyes are meant to have the glowing look to them. I use scorpian green, a dot of white and then a thraka green wash...sometimes retouch the green again after.

Tawg, He is a funny lookin bugger, especially in the close up like that! I never really spent any time looking at his "now that you mention it" CONFUSED face!
On a side note...
Will have more pictures of the projects this weekend! The week has been crazy, with babies, out-of-town family, work etc. Expect skeletons with spears, grave guard and a hero to boot!!

Nice graveguard especially for the plastic ones.
Thanks for the tip on glowing eyes I have a few spectre's I can try it on.

Some really great stuff here, love the direwolves, I plan on doing pretty much the same thing! Ghoul king is excellent. Love the paint job on the crypt ghouls, still hate the models

did you make that "Display" base for him yourself? I'm curious where it's from, or perhaps what it's made of if from scratch?
Looks very nice, I like the feel of display bases like that, with removable/playable models. Very cool. Hoping to see the colours come together more, but I know the metals won't be so bright once it's done

He builds them. He's got great skill at making plaster bases, however this one appears to be made of cork...

Great army so far. You've got a cracking choice of colours and it's great to see tufts being used so well and blending colours. Just a little tip, if you load a brush with a little watered down paint and then remove most of it as if you were going to drybrush, you can add different variations to the tuft. It makes them a little more natural looking. Just make sure you try and do it in a colour that complements the original colour of the tuft. Static grass has had its day in my opinion :lol:
The Crypt Horrors are fantastic! You've done some amazing blending on them especially the flesh to purple. I love the glowing eyes too.
