Dear Johnny

  • The masquerade of murder returns! A new game of Vampires Amongst Us has begun. Unmask the killers, trust no one, and try to survive the night. Find out more and sign up now!
As someone with six cats, I strongly protest against the idea of painting cats. They usually manage fighting on their own though.

Fine gents, can someone please explain to me how hard cover works? The way I understand it is as long as youre not a Large Target and stand behind another unit youre in hard cover? So Ghouls could provide hard cover for Crypt Horrors? Its not explained very well in my opinion its all about if your models can "see" the target and my friends maintain that they are only in soft cover because you can "see" them over the ghouls.

If the ghouls cover more than 50% of the unit it is hard cover. Get down at eye level and check. THat's a HAWT new avatar you have there Swaiper! :perv:

Dear Johnny,

For your hundredth page of "Dear Johnny", I was wondering if you could do us a cooking tutorial? How many ingredients would you take in a 5-portion list, what synergy would you get out of the vegetables, which bread is best for starters (chaff)? What pudding-level fruits do you take, and should we be trying to force the first bite onto our guests so they lay the table or should we try and go first?

Many thanks,

~ Darvy

Cool vid, J_C
-I think the +1 str to spells locus is worth taking personally. It can give horrors the oomph they need to hurt something.
-Love the "Killing Bro" ability, I am so using that...
-You like Screamers? Don't think the footprint can be too much? I think furies with MoT are just way more cost effective.
-Don't forget that Kairos can now take multiple spells from the same lore! :perv:

Darvy if you want I will do a cooking with johnny video sometime soon.

Also Sen it is my offensive Asian 'Kirring Bro' abillity that has won me so many best sports votes

Dear Johnny,

1) I yet again want to hit my friend with a block of cheese. You still get the +1 to armour from shooting by having a shield even if the unit has a GW, correct?

2) I was playing a game against O&G, cannon ball bounced through a unit of boys and strait into his boar boys where he had his BSB. Does the BSB get a 'look out sir' from the cannon ball? The BSB was mounted on a boar as well and was in the unit. Not sure if it works for cav models.

1) yes, you do get the extra armour, in both shooting and vs. magic. Have him read you the "requires two hands" special rule on page 75 in the BRB.

2) A character mounted on a warbeast becomes cavalry, monstrous warbeasts he becomes monstrous cav. and mounted on a monster their troop-type becomes a monster. A character get a LoS! if he is in a unit with a rank of 5 or more models of the same troop type as himself. 4+ LoS! if he is not in the unit itself but within 3" of a unit (with a rank of 5 or more models) of the same troop type.

Thank you! I had already killed 2 boars (only 4 left) with cannon shots earlier so he wouldn't have gotten it :'(. Oh well, next game.

DeaR Johnny, do you ever use Armour of Destiny and Dawn Stone on a Vampire Lord in a Knight Bus?

Something like:
Vampire Lord
Barded Nightmare
Shield
Armour of Destiny
Dawn Stone
Sword of Might
Quickblood
Red Fury
Beguile

If no, why not? I never see it and I got curious as to why.

I don't because it prevents taking the Ogre Blade which is more important for my blender. Can get to 1+ with Mundane armor and dragon helm. Talisman of Preservation takes care of the ward. Now with the Dragon Helm I am unkillable against fire attacks.

I can imagine Tricksters Helm to be the bomb if youre rocking 2 vamps with beasts :D. Also thank you guys for the quick answer!

That would be most agreeable. :clown: And this is post 1999, you could do something special (soufflé?) for post 2000!

EDIT: Bah, 2001 is better anyway, you could make it Space-Odyssey themed cooking.
