I keep telling you. Only 103 players made it. And Steve Castro of my Team Misfire won Best Sports with his OK army. Not Warriors of Chaos.

Dear Johnny,

Does putting a Spirit Host in front of a Terrorgheist do anything in terms of denying line of sight to the Gheist or giving it cover? I know the Terrorgheist is a large target, which means it can't take normal cover in 'obstacles'. Does a Spirit Host count as that? I've seen batreps where people start the game with a single Host in front of a TG, but have never heard the explanation and figured it was for the reason I stated above, to give it some kind of cover.

Ah okay thanks for the quick response. Just to be sure I understand why though, is it because of the Large Target rule? Also, if I put it in front of a unit of normal infantry but the unit is wider than the Spirit Host, what happens then?

Sorry if this has been covered but the more I think about it the more I am a ared by it.

How are people dealing with the dragon prince bus?

For the uninitiated it's approx 15 strong, banner of world dragon, immune to magic/ flaming. It carries lord, bsb usually another hero and a lord level Mage, on high. It debuffs chosen enemy unit and increases its own ward.

Characters are armed with +str weapons.

Usually backed up with Phoenix, eagles small silver helms + shooting to remove chaff.

Answers on a postcard please

Sounds like a great place to send your crypt horrors at..... Try to get the charge to take away the lances and throw everything at characters ie 12 attacks

Corien Sumatris is now my 3rd favorite member behind Johnny and Sun.

On topic, chaff them as has been said above. VC do the chaff war better than any other army in the game, goblins included. Why? Ours don't panic and spirit host can ruin the day of some units (like sphinxes). We tend to outdeploy the foe with the number of drops we can bring to the table so try to get those fell bats, hosts, wolves and what have you in the way of the deathstar before they are shot to pieces by Sisters of Avelorn and bolt throwers.

Hi Johnny,

I'm a new vamp player, and my usual opponent is an Empire player. Now I've not yet have the most competitive of lists, so to improve on my lists is a an straightforward thing to do, but what else can I do to be a little more effective against: (at 1500 points)

A horde of halberdiers, with a detachment of halberdiers and some archers, with a war altar and a hurricanum behind it. BSB as well.

This is just an endless amount of extremely buffed up bodies. And I can only engage them with one of my units or I will be bleeding combat res even more.

I usually play a horde of skeletons, some zombies, a varghulf, 2 spirit hosts, and then the specials I've just painted.
With a Master Necromancer, and a Hero Vamp.
Another problem I have is with the Vamp, in four games he only killed 6 halberdiers, and died in all of them. Now I wiffed my dice a lot, but what's the best way to get him in combat and what item's to give him. He's been a real disappointment till now!

Thanks in advance!

At 1500 points, I don't think magic is going to wreck you too hard if you upgrade that Vampire to a Vampire Lord, and hand off most casting duty to a L2 or so. A Vampire Lord will scythe through tons of Halberds, and won't be difficult to keep alive either.

As for your troops... therein lies the rub. I don't put much faith in Skeleton Warriors if Mindrazor isn't an option (and even then I'm still skeptical), so you just don't enough pop in your Core. Consider fielding Crypt Ghouls instead (and if you're stuck with the Skeletons, consider bringing lots of them in Horde formation with Spears - Halberdiers are weak enough that the extra attacks will actually do stuff).

*takes pants off.
I've had alot of success running skeletons in bus formation with couple blender vamps and full command. Vamps do the killing and skeletons provide the CR and bunker.

Dear Johnny,

1) Can you parry a killing blow?

2) How does one use knights so they don't get cannon fodder'ed/dwellersed/skaven earth split magic'ed making you want to toss the models into a box and never letting them see the light of day again?

3) 2 X 40 GG /w GW @ 2400-3000 pts?

4) Can a banshee scream at a screaming bell if she is in combat with the unit of plague monks pushing the bell?

5) How do you correctly move a doomwheel? (My friend is terrible at explaining things...)

6) If a slaan has both cupped hands and throne of vines, do they stack? Basically is it 2, 2+ chances to shrug off a miscast? (Using old book, NO idea what new book says and I won't be able to pick one up for some time.)

Thank you. :)
