this is absolutely fantastic... if i ever start a new army i have to try that myself.... breathtaking resulsts on the water. i actually prefer the calm swamp look without waves but hey - deadly awesome!

the dead shall rule them all!

That is really superb work. The water bases look amazing, and put together they really do look like ghouls wading through murky water. Nicely done.

Thanks, all. I appreciate the feedback!

I expect to have this army done by June 25th.

Quick update. I've gotten a lot painted over the last month, but not much of it is to a "completed" state. Here's one thing that is fully done, though.

The contrast is pretty stark on that background. Sorry 'bout that.

Anyways, the nice broad bases showcase the waves nicely. I've got my Varghulf painted and nearly based -- I just need to add the waves. I've got 25-ish zombies base-coated and inked and 22 (!?) Dire Wolves in the same state. I'm working on my first ever corpse cart.

I'm trying to get this army done to a nearly finished state by the end of May, then fully finished by the end of June. I have a couple of tournaments in the NW USA and I am motivated!

I'll try to get more pictures up. Not sure how photogenic the pups are, yet. I guess we'll see soon!

Very nice - I can see me having to show case this in the Invocation when it is complete. but this time I will have to get you to take some proper pictures for me xd

Well you'll be bored of people saying this to you no doubt. But these are seriously brilliant models. My friend and I had an argument about the potential for an army looking awesome, I said that VC have the potential to be fantastic, especially when converted, and your thread has proved this.

Outstanding :D

I did finish the army, then moved on to another project before filling this out any more. I think this was at around 2000 points when I finished. I haven't really touched the army since the last version of the game, so it needs some updates.

I keep on saying I'll take pictures of all of my armies. Maybe now is the time to do so. I can use the ego boost.

If you can, maybe we can make a sticky for it, or perhaps even a section on 'Master work' armies; everyone's work is valuable, but sometimes you want to highlight some of the very best stuff out there and put it in an easy to find place, so it doesn't get lost.

I found another picture that hadn't made it's way up here. This is a composite picture of my finished Varghulf.

Sorry for the necromancy, again.

I owe you guys pictures, I know. Life has changed (and not for the better) since I promised to get them up, but I *will* get you pictures. I've got my picture-taking station set up finally. Sadly, it will likely still be a week or so out. I've got a lot to do in the next few days and next to no time for craftiness.

I'll make it up to you, though, by starting a new thread tomorrow for a piece I'm adding to this project: Ghost Ship!
