Entry Thread. Turning the World to Darkness: Undead Stormcast

  • The masquerade of murder returns! A new game of Vampires Amongst Us has begun. Unmask the killers, trust no one, and try to survive the night. Find out more and sign up now!
Here we go again! This time with a touch of nostalgia mixed with something new. Nostalgic because the theme is much closer to the Turning the World to Darkness challenges of old. You'll see what I mean with new ;)

The Price: The winner earns the glory and a place in the Hall of Infamy thread. The winner also gets to selected the theme of the next painting challenge (note that the winner only has a weekend to present the decision, so please be prepared and available).

The Rules:
  • All models entered should not have been painted more than a year ago from the date the entry thread is closed. This will not be enforced but violators will politely be asked to retract their entry.
  • Max one entry per person.
  • Max 3 images per entry (including pictures in collages), of reasonable size.
  • No voting for your own entry.
  • No model can be entered into several challenges.
  • For every started set of 5 entries, each member gets a single vote (for example: with 7 entries everyone would get 2 votes).
  • Open entries and open voting. Everyone can see who painted what.
  • Models can be of any manufacture and conversion, but must fulfil all the criteria of the given theme.
  • If no decision on the next theme is made within a week of the winner announcement, the decision falls to Mad 'At.

The Theme: Undead Stormcast

Any single Stormcast Eternal model or their mount turned undead. Whether it is by conversion or paintjob is irrelevant, as long as it is fitting of an undead army.

The Schedule:
Week 1, Monday: Theme announcement and entry thread created
Week 7, Friday: Entry thread closed. Voting thread opened.
Week 8, Friday: Voting thread closed. Result announced. Winner asked about next theme.

This thread is now open for people to post their entries. Please state a name of the miniature along with the pictures (ex: Vampire Lord or Countess Squigmachine). The thread closes on the 25th of November at (roughly) 23:59 CET.

Well, that was to be expected ;) I'm sorry for disappointment...

I would do normally the same, but the idea of making a proud sigmarine into merely a zombie filler or another undead was way too sweet for me to ignore. I bought mine on ebay to minimize the support.

Still, I hope someone will enter. Or I'll take part as the only entrant, win easily and choose something less controversial next time ;)

I think this idea is pretty sweat. Reminds me of the idea of an 40k Imperial Zombie army.
Unfortunately I have no Sigmarines and I'm not willing to buy any. So I'm sadly skipping this challenge, too.

I probably wasn't going to be able to enter this one anyway, painting the Ice Queen of Kislev at the moment (such a pretty face! ;))

Those of you that bought the white dwarf will have a model to mangle at least, I didn't.

So bought a 6,50€ magazine for this to get the mini. Will try to use as my vampire bsb once I figure how to base him. These AoS models are really really awful. Sorry GW :(
Some kitbashing here mostly and decided to sculpt something on the shield from greenstuff. Might work on that more when I have the time.

That's crazy man! And it's turning out really good! Is it all sculpted? Looks so smooth ;)
Also, wouldn't it be easier buying a single sigmarine off ebay or something like this?

Yeah, all sculpted in greenstuff (so far) :) I'll most likely use a plastic zombie head of some kind, but the rest should be entirely hand-sculpted!

It would have been easier to just buy a mini for sure, but that would mean throwing money at some Sigmarine :P Plus, what really draw me in was the challenge of sculpting a full model by myself. I really wanted to try it once I saw the announcement so I just went for it!

@Raizi man, those head-wings are SICK! They fit him so well!

I also finished my dude for the competition :) Nothing too difficult, some minor converting, easy painting and lots of grime. He's a filler after all, a sigmarine can't keep other minis waiting, can he? ;)

EDIT:

I hope I can change the picture when it's still long before deadline...

@Raizi I love the banner. Vast improvements to the original mini - I'm looking forward to seeing this one painted.

@Mioum Really nice sculpting there, he's gonna look cool when done - and interesting without the standard helmet.

@Borgnine Nice work mate, big fan of the very limited use of colours here - they make that armour look pretty sweet. Some verdigris may be a nice touch though.
