He really looks awesome so much so I am stealing the idea.

July 31st is the cut off date.

August 31st cutt off date for the crypt horror's that is the next challenge.

we're talking about the master ghoul king of absolute awesomeness and musclebuilding now right? xD

if so... i challenge thee! on painting such a creature. you have until you do, on you xD

btw a good thing to know for gaming purposes is that its exactly 20mm from his middle toe-claws to the other middle toe-claw, since he didnt fit on a single 20mm base and if he's not in a regiment to take the space of another model its fairly easy to calculate distances and such.

glad to hear it :)

btw if you'r thinking about ordering the pestilence (not at all nurgle) champ from AOW anytime, its worth to give you a heads up, the model is on a 40mm base, while a champ like that should be on a .. 25mm i think, idk what the plague bearers are on, 20 or 25 but it shouldnt be bigger than that, so its basicly useless unless used as a unit filler but on its own its.. well

i got one, cuz it had potential, now it will only get a spot in my shelf :p

yes thats the one, but he's a special character so one would think that a regular champ would be more used, but since the latest editions has been the special characters editions im guessing SC are more commonly used than regular

either way the AOW pestilence one has enough gaps and room between the metal to pass as the runner up for most used GS only to make him 'ready to paint'

kinda like the new doombull before it was made in failcast, huge gaps everywhere, and one could almost think it wassnt made to fit at all

small creature-feature update :perv:

ive finally managed to glue most of my army into some resemblance of a fighting force, only some torsos for hexwraiths and black knights left, aswell as another 20 of my 28 grave guards

ai262.photobucket.com_albums_ii88_Mannamod_1_5.webp

also had to try and make some more strigoi vamps

ai262.photobucket.com_albums_ii88_Mannamod_stri.webp

atleast the bone went well in the end, but that pose and his original weapon going all the way against the arm was a pain, im glad thats over

also as ive posted in the ghoul challenge i did a nice strigoi ghoul king, im surpriced i havent seen anyone else using this solution.

ai262.photobucket.com_albums_ii88_Mannamod_1s.webp

ai262.photobucket.com_albums_ii88_Mannamod_2s.webp

the pose also goes really well in a crypt ghoul regiment, really standing out

ai262.photobucket.com_albums_ii88_Mannamod_stri2.webp

and lastly a bit of a brainfart, had to do someting hideous!
i present the first FAT'UN :innocent:

ai262.photobucket.com_albums_ii88_Mannamod_fatun1.webp

the model looks kinda ok after all the scales were filed down and that nose was cut off.
also gave him a huge bone instead of that fishhook he had.
the big nose and nostrils on the models are really ugly but after they went down a bit it really looks alot better.

perhaps to be used as a charming (fat) love-fairy?
or a vargheist

Vecrta - im glad to hear that i have inspired you, steal it with pride!
dang santa, im a bit late for golden bat.. been ill for the past two weeks or so, but in my feverous sleep it came to me, the degenerated necromancer, the half-ghoul, the creeper!

ai262.photobucket.com_albums_ii88_Mannamod_1_7.webp

ai262.photobucket.com_albums_ii88_Mannamod_2_4.webp

also here are a few better shots from another maniac of a necromancer that i posted a while back

ai262.photobucket.com_albums_ii88_Mannamod_4_2.webp

aswell as a personal favorite, so simple yet so appealing, just filed down that candle-lit skull and it became a win win ;)

ai262.photobucket.com_albums_ii88_Mannamod_5_1.webp

but hey!.. whats that there... looks like a "masterblaster" lookalike or soon to be anyway ;)
that new gobbo shaman looks alot better without his nose tbh and more like a ghoul :innocent:

ai262.photobucket.com_albums_ii88_Mannamod_3_3.webp

this thread is seriously lacking painted stuff, but ill have to suit myself for not showing off stuff half made, just rest assured that stuff are being done ;)

Very great modifications!
You are sick as much as me, brother! :konrad:

glad to hear it mate! xD

and malochai, its the AOW ogre body, still to be sawed at ;)
the body itself got alot of potential, and as it seems now - his arms are coming off to give way for replacements!
http://www.avatars-of-war.com/eng/web/images/minis/aow32/aow32_blister.jpg

well i gotta say im impressed - alot of other minis from AOW have extensive flashing on some parts, and usually really thick frash aswell that can be a pain to cut away, and have parts that dont fit that well on the model - wich in turn will require alot of greenstuffing. this one however had none of that, offcource that could be because i were just lucky :P

either way, the model itself provides to be exactly like the AOW picture. just that the torso needs a bit of greenstuffing on the sides and in the hole where you put it in contact with the legs, but nothing that fancy ;)

the bottom line is, if your thinking about getting the model - you shouldnt hold back! the body itself have tremendous potential after all :D and it looks nothing like the typical GW ogre without the head

cheers!

I have to say, I like pretty much all of the AoW stuff ... Especially the new Lizardman that's being sculpted and their dwarves :tongues: Although I've never had problems with their minis ... Maybe you were just unlucky?

back from the dead! (pun intended) :vampire3:
have had a hectic time here on my front, moving to another place and all that fun stuff, but alas everything worked out as it should, even got all my stuff packed and ready to go :D.. almost.. not my nerdy stuff anyways xD

so here, an update from tonights greenstuff session with my GF

first up, made some additional strigoi vampires, i have four on foot and one mounted now, alas that number must grow like mourkain!
ai262.photobucket.com_albums_ii88_Mannamod_strigoi1.webp

finished up the greenstuffing on the dragon-head to get rid of the gaps and also the transition between the old skull and the new one
ai262.photobucket.com_albums_ii88_Mannamod_greendrag.webp

pimped out the throne for my lord
ai262.photobucket.com_albums_ii88_Mannamod_pimped.webp

also gonna make a mounted version of my wight lord on foot, got all the components to make it, just havent taken the time yet. also here's the awesome mounted strigoi of doom and destruction!;)
ai262.photobucket.com_albums_ii88_Mannamod_rider1.webp

additional shots
ai262.photobucket.com_albums_ii88_Mannamod_rider2.webp

with some kind of elf-sympathiser in the background
ai262.photobucket.com_albums_ii88_Mannamod_rider3.webp

this dude also fits very well on any other mount thinkable
ai262.photobucket.com_albums_ii88_Mannamod_rider4.webp

lastly i kitbashed a nice manticore for my dark elf loving GF
its made from the body of the chimera wich ironicly fits better than the original body,
mounted on a 50x50mm base just like the current dark elf manticore.
tail paws and head from manticore, wings and body from chimera
ai262.photobucket.com_albums_ii88_Mannamod_mantic3.webp

ai262.photobucket.com_albums_ii88_Mannamod_mantic2.webp

ai262.photobucket.com_albums_ii88_Mannamod_mantic1.webp

there.. thats a nice update, more of that!

Loving this PLOG. I'd like to see some close-ups of that Trygon/Dragon mixture that we spotted in one of the batrep pictures...

Really rad looking stuff, man. With that Abyssal Terror/Trygon beastie, what's the smallest base that thing will fit on without being cheesy looking? Giant base, maybe?
