The masquerade of murder returns! A new game of Vampires Amongst Us has begun. Unmask the killers, trust no one, and try to survive the night. Find out more and sign up now!
the brave but frail manlings fought to the very end, no slaves were taken by the vicious elves but then again almost none were left alive to tell the tale.
only a small regiment and a demigryph remained in the ashes of that bloodsoaked battlefield, surrounded by the evil crackling laughter of the naggarothi elves
Its time to invoke some serious THREADOMANCY :konrad:
while its been a busy summer thusfar i will restrain from posting vampiric updates until my little sessions with the überghoul is done (it will be worth the wait!)
another project has been started, it contains foul-smelling odours and guttural language.
Mewling sounds, bleat and baah..
its time some unlikely allies enter the scene - introducing.. Goats! for a beastmen project that ive started thus far two wargors (one BSB and another two handed) aswell as the awestriking Beastlord and a 'counts as' herdstone
This is to be used as a 'counts as' herdstone. since i found the idea of making a stone rather dull i decided to make a shrine/altar instead - works just as well
the "portal" is going to be suspended in the air above the pit of skulls by metallic wires underneath.
stay tuned for vampiric updates beginning next week
cheers!
I meant to comment on your last update, but for some reason I forgot.
The beastmen are looking very brutal, what sculpt are they, can't recognise it? It's a shame that they cannot take marks anymore, they really should have frenzy with all those Khorne icons
Good call on the herdstone, just a stone can be somewhat plain. I recognise the totem at the back (love that little many armed gremlin  )and the icon covering the skull pit, but that base I can't quite put my finger on. Where is it from?
The psykers look cool to. Do I sense a Death Korps of Krieg army?
aye its really a shame that they took away the marks, but hopefully GW will include them again in the next book, its really wierd that they took them away in the first place. it pretty much sums it up in that philosoraptor quote: "if beastmen are they true children of chaos, howcome they dont have marks but corrupt humans do?"
glad you liked the altar, the base itself is the base from the "eternity stair" arcane fulcrum.
i cut away all the empire stuff and filed down the skulls (they were that awkward cro-magnon sized crap from 6th - even though the fulcrums are from 8th wtf? )
its actually a regular IG army but with gasmasks on the regular chaff, looks a bit like helgast troopers from killzone
the pope is just about done i think, here in all his glory
i had to file down the sleeve a bit aswell to make it more natural (huge book and stuff in the way)
now the only thing left to do with this fellow is cut him apart again.. o.o
i need to make small gaps in his shoulders and arms where i will put some potruding bones from the crypt horrors and then greenstuff the area around them, if im successfull its gonna be awesome, if im unsuccessfull.. well then ive greenstuffed and filed down all chaosy marks in vain
and a little spawn for the beasts aswell.. a disturbing hentai-like monstrosity :zombie:
That Pope guy came out really cool, less can definitely be more when it comes to hands. He seams to have some serious mold line on his robes under his left arm though :/
Now I am just waiting for Shar to drop by and tell you to put a Japanese schoolgirl in front of that spawn
EDIT: I really need to learn the difference between left and right

i actually had to go out and look at the model for that mouldline, but i didnt find it, only afterwards did i realise that picture was taken before i had put him on a base and completed the greenstuffing and converting - in other words before i had cleaned him up from mould lines and flash total brainfart
allthough i dont know who you are refering to i do have some plans on including women into the army, mutated women mind you but alas no schoolgirls... yet

I do remember getting to hear what bits you used now that he's finished.
aye you shall
its not finished yet though, still gotta make the potruding bones in his shoulders and arms - but those bits are from the cryp horrors so no mystery there:tongue:
its a daemon prince body obviously, but extensivly filed down and greenstuffed from all the scarifications and chaosy symbols on his breast, thighs, ankles, arms, wristbands and shoulders, and back!
and a repositioning of his club-arm to a more dynamic postion
the weapon is a club from the Orcs & Goblins river troll kit, the head is a regular Daemon prince head wich has been filed down and had its horns cut off. the ram skull is from the standard of the beastmen minotaurs, and the jawbones are from the savage orc boar kit (they had one set of smaller ones and one set of larger ones)
the bag of skulls in his crouch (idk if i should change it, i might still do some hair there instead) is from the ghorgon/cygor kit
Finally! the Mierce shipment arrived.. alas the doombull head was miscast so ill wait for a replacement before i post anything about him
so whos up for minotaurs? gotta love the models
three done and awaiting greenstuffing tomorrow
and two begun hopefully greenstuffed and ready tomorrow aswell
oh and a ... jabberslythe for the sake of it!
Khorne appreciates strenght no matter how befouled and misshapen
unfortionatly i havent finished the rest yet as i had some last minute entusiasm for working on my vampire counts (secret secret!)
got my first bray shaman today aswell so hopefully nerdy stuff will appear soon enough
in the meantime - here's some funny stuff about minotaurs
I believe its time for some more uploads, been a while as always
first up i decided to change the arms on the beastmen leader, made them more "realistic"
didnt really like the elbowguard.
and i think he turned out better, here without his shoulderarmour, still working on what to do with his areas of lacking chainmail. but i ordered some brass emblems of khorne from FW so ill fix something
shaman! never really liked the Malagor pose and blood shamans fit better
its been fun having no restrictions when doing this beastmen army, just mutations for everyone
and spawns ofc! lots of spawns!
and my personal favorite, with some halfmoulded little ungor with a deformed arm
and heres a little guy i bought from a talanted french sculpturer
also, the elf lover got herself some more elves
gluing the new parts can be a tricky business!
the new Medusa was a delight, only those bloodslick thingies on her didnt quite fit, so i cut and filed them away, and lo and behold the model looks so much better
also since the GF doessnt really like the idea of having sea-creatures in her Dark elf army i made a "counts as" model for the new Kharibdyss, nameley a fantasy version of a statue of khaine
some greenstuffing left but i think it'll turn out great.
oh and.. heres a snippet at one of the two überspawns im working on atm.
(counts as ghorgon)
OK, first of all, I love your beastmen! Secondly, dark elves rock How difficult was the Khaine statue to take from the original pose? Did it take much, or was it rather simple?
the arms and hand is rather simple postures really, just cut them off and reposition them, but the shoulder goes so far backward that it could be tricky making it look natural with the arm forwards since the armour on the shoulder also goes backwards, ill keep you posted on how that goes.
the legs on the other hand is quite tricky, they are so close together that for the pose i have now i had to bend and stretch the tighs and lower legs aswell as the feet so much that the plastic almost ruptured from pressure, it is barely visible on the pictures but the plastic at the kneecap and groin/tighs are entriely white from pressure
while you can position the backward leg a bit from the regular pose thanks to the fact that it is a separate leg from the main body it still cant go too far because it looks off when the leg that is stuck on the body is so centered and the armour at the crossing from torso to lower body rather goes inward than outward, so its a tricky one
and thanks for the encouragement guys perhaps you'll like the two nurgle shamans im working on just as much
