Woops that was the least well structured post I had ever done!! What I meant was:

"Are there any non-marine models in Horus Heresy forge-world expansion".

Indeed, Sanai I am aware of the fluff, I'm (apparently) not that ignorant of the most detailed part of GW's fluff.

Oh and Darvy, you can get the GW books on ibooks now, so you can legally have a GW codex in PDF format, if you buy it off them really. Sorry just me being an  al

xD

BTW, I have been wondering if anybody know what kind of details pre-heresy and heresy era marines would have on their armour. The EC obviously wore the imperial eagle on their chest, but might other legions wear the eagle on the shoulder pads, the imperial laurel and the like, just as in the 41st millenium?

The EC were the only legion allowed to have the aquila; I think that includes shoulders etc. Of course a Primarch would get away with it, but not your standard marine.

The winged skull would be popular, though, I imagine.

Oh, the first few books won't have non marines, as they cover the battles of Istvaan, which were purely legion vs legion affairs, apart from the titans and navies.

Once we get into later books I am pretty sure they will add guard (imperial army at that era actually) stuff, and mechanicus stuff, etc.

There should be the following Forces if i remember right (at some point at least) in the books

-Chaos Demons
-Mechanicum
-Eldar (possibly)
-Imperial Army
-Adaptus Custodous

Hmmm eldar forgeworld stuff. That's what I want. Althought they may not be following the novels..

Many thanks Sanai and Elzanith

The problem with eldar stuff is you can just use the regular eldar codex to represent heresy era eldar- eldar forces are likely more or less identical then to what they are now.

The various "armies" that took part in the heresy are;

Imperial Army
Mechanicum/Skitaari
Dark Mechanicum
Titan Legios
Knight Orders (the smaller one man titan forces, which do not belong directly to the titan legios or the mechanicum but rather are allied to them)
Astartes Legions
Sisters of Silence
Custodes
Officio Assassinorum
Knights Errant (Early Grey Knights)
Daemons

Orks/Eldar really didn't play much of a part in the heresy, but they were antagonists in the great crusade, which occured beforehand.

Yeah that's a point, its not like the eldar have changed recently in their terms.

Ooh, it'd be interesting if we got Skitaari!

Does anyone else invisage the skitaari looking like something like the dwemer things in Skyrim? Obviously a bit more mechanical but you get the idea. That's all I could think of when reading about them. SHould be interesting :) ON a separate note do GW allow Forgeworld models to be used instore? Never seen any in my local store so just wondered:perv:

Me a old timer? Naw Santa has shoes older than me..... But Johnny knows all and almost never forgets.... Except that one time.... I think.... God I wish I could recall when that was....

ever seen any in my local store so just wondered

Forgeworld is owned by games workshop (more or less) so of course they are allowed. The reason you don't see much of it in-store is because forgeworld products are more for the really serious 40ker, and also because games workshop stores don't generally sell forgeworld stuff due to its more specialist nature.

that and the fact you also have to buy a separate rulebook for them, and they're very very expensive.

I've always preferred forgeworld miniatures compared to GW ones, they always seem more gritty, and the dark eldar are so beautiful.

that and the fact you also have to buy a separate rulebook for them, and they're very very expensive.

Here in australia it is cheaper to buy forgeworld, as forgeworld does not carry the price markup that regular games workshop applies to australians.

huh, GW make you pay exponentially more in Australia? why? Kind of wish I lived there now, I could have a totally forgeworld army, which I've always wanted.

Do we know when the next wave of models for this expansion is coming out?

GW make you pay exponentially more in Australia? why?

Because alot of companies do. If you want to buy video games, games workshop stuff, etc in australia, you pay alot more. Here are some examples-

Stormraven Gunship
In america- $82
In Australia- $110

Tactical Squad
America- $37.25
Australia- $62

The same also goes for video games, a new pc game that might cost $50 or so in america will often cost up to $90 in australia. I have seen some go as high as $110.

So, have you people seen the new LEGION power amour patterns (MKII, MKIII, MKIV) that are coming out the 2nd of November?:

Basically the same 3 patterns just with new poses and extra detail, but still amazing!

The crusade and iron armour looks much nicer, not too fussed about the maximus armour though. Sucks you only get 5 models for £23. Oh well maybe car insurance can wait...

I like extra poses but to be honest seeing as they already have those models out reposing a few guys was never a huge challenge and nothing to really celebrate to be honest.

I say Bring on Black Fire Pass, they have nearly all the stuff out already in the Horus Heresy Book 1 as it stands anyway with the exception of honour guard and a few characters (Who include Saul Tavitz, Abbadon and a few other big names and 3 Primarch's) which we all want to see but I want Empire and a Dwarf Zeppelin!
