TVC II OOC General OOC Discussion (New)

  • The masquerade of murder returns! A new game of Vampires Amongst Us has begun. Unmask the killers, trust no one, and try to survive the night. Find out more and sign up now!
Yes, well, that would be confusing.

Mordecai: 'Greetings. I come as a friend of Anya.'
Princess Anya: 'I've never heard of you!' Blinks in confusion.

Varelsa is referring to Niklaus and Odric, correct?
Aren't Niklaus and ordic in another carriage. I think he is trying to talk to Kithan and Mikhail last time I checked they were the only ones in the carriage unless magic is involved.

Varelsa is talking to the people in his carriage

Unless I'm missing something I said? ( my phones being glitchy and I can't open some threads)

Edit: It'd be a bit difficult for him to turn to people who are in another carriage!

Hey guys,

Just a heads up that my availability this week won't be great and I'm away this weekend, I'll try to keep up posting when I can but I might be slow and may not have time for responding to PMs.

Depending on how long the spoken contract between Helena and Elanor will last, I wonder if it'll effect the interaction between them and Kavok. It's a curious development.

I guess it would depend on Kavok's relationship with Elanor, i.e. how seriously he really wants her, and Helena's views on him.

And I wonder how much of a slave Elanor will be treated as...

@All those posting in chapter 7: feel free to have your characters react to the situation/engage in combat. This is now part of the main storyline rather than just a supplement involving a few characters and NPCs.

@Chapter 7 folks - Some points

- The New Bloods are all pretty young (8 years or less sired) and spent all those years being trained in how to kill vampires, they are all armed but might not necessarily use the weapons, they're incredibly blood thirsty and being empowered by Kylar. They attack in bulk and not one-on-one, if any players start slaughtering them effortlessly there will be...consequences ;) Take the fact that so many skilled vampiric knights were swiftly taken down as an indicator.

- The more senior (named) traitor assassins are roughly council level.

- Have fun!

@Count Vashra Varelsa isn't actually at the champions carriage now, he strode back to the front carriage but then kept walking towards Jaegar, Jack and Sylvie (in front of the first carriage). I will post the reaction of the shadow dome though since I imagine that's where Vashra was aiming to go?

I put this together for the GM Team, just sharing if it helps/interests anyone.

I likely won't update this version (just the GM one) so it might be handy for characters to keep track of the battle themselves ICly.

Battle of the Carriages!

Forces Count

Traitors
Council Level Opponents
Kylar - 4 in Shadow Magic and 6 in Necromancy, mostly uses the magic for buffing his men. Fights with Whip and Sword well enough to be promoted to Captain (Highest rank under Silibar himself).
Rikert - 6/7 in Shadow Magic. Extremely skilled bowman (an equal for Jaegar) and fully trained swordsman.
Henrik - 7 Pyromancy, 2 shadowmancy. Exceptionally talented rapierist (heavy rapier) against vampires, and decent pistol shot (but limited by technology so close-mid range shots only)
Sieghard - 4 Shadowmancy, Skilled crossbowman decent knife fighter but nothing special.
Markus - 5 Pyromancy - skilled swordsman, especially against vampires.
Sorin - Dead

Sub-Council Level
43 New Bloods - Trained from 1-8 years in killing other vampires, empowered by Kylar and thirsty for slaughter.

Council Forces

Council Members

Niklaus
Mikhail
Odric
Kithan
Rowhaine - Incapacitated via wall of flame and dome of shadow.
Sylvie - I believe quite injured?

von Carstein Forces

Knights - 8 either unconcious or dead, unknown until battle's end. 4 Dead (two by fire, 1 by arrow and 1 give his life to get Sigmund away).
Sigmund - Grandmaster of the Tempalrs. Silvered bolt through his leg and lost his sword.
Otto - Senior Templar and member of the inner circle- Unwounded.
Gunther - Senior Templar and member of the inner circle - Lost his helmet and rends in armour but mostly unharmed.
Varelsa - Hasn't gathered his weaponry or armour due to checking on Sylvie. Doesn't want to help (and shouldn't due to his power level).
Jack - Mostly unharmed.
Jaegar - Perfectly fine. Plans to kill Rikert (or try anyway).
Theobold - Serious Injury due to Silver bolt. Second Squad Assassin training, particularly skilled in the use of blackpowder weaponry.

The problem with Sylvie is that she is smarter, wittier and more streetwise then me
Plus the stats screw with me, like Sylvie was the best theif in all of Brettonia like Catwoman level sneaky.
combatwise Sylvie is a master of parkour mixed in with kick boxing and some WWE off the top rope stuff and Millina from MK's more feral moves, Unlike Graveclaw who just flails at people Sylvie zeros in on your joints & groin in Rapid 3 hit combos

Yes, it's CLICHE HOUR! If you can think it, you can do it. In all seriousness, she seems intelligent from your writing, especially for a strigoi. If you wanted to make her seem more intelligent, perhaps you could write her to be a little bit more subtle. Just write more internal dialogue, show she is weighing up her options in her head, etc., and saying one thing and thinking another. I know she's not Lahmian or Von Carstein, but she could get into some classic vampiric scheming, playing pawns off against one another. Obviously it's hard to do that often in this RP framework, but examples do come up from time to time e.g. traitors exploiting animosity between the Carsteins and the other part of the council in TVC I to divide and conquer (I think that started to happen? Anyway, it could have, but got resolved pretty quickly, when V'azrin took direct control of the Carsteins on behalf of the Nagashi, that is).

I don't think they screw you. You can write her like that; with strigoi agility she should be able to jump around and crawl on ceilings unnoticed, etc. Skulking around and acrobatics are things strigoi excel at, and if you want help writing that kind of stuff, just ask for advice before writing a post, whether that's in this thread, the feedback thread, or in a PM, and the GM team will be happy to help (I'm sure others will be too).

If what you mean is she got taken down too quickly, whilst she might be an expert thief, she could not be expected to take on 50. trained. vampire. killers. and win. She put up a fight and was even able to seriously wound an assassin whilst outnumbered, later escaping with the help of a few Von Carstein assassins. Once she's healed, she can get back into the action and start putting her combat skills to use. I don't think it makes her look weak.
