I'm going to agree with Darvy, Lynks and Luci here ... It really would be best to wait for DoN to confirm players. Like I said yesterday, I understand Narenzade wants to post, but that doesn't negate the fact that DoN is GM and, if nothing else, it would (in my opinion) just be rude ...

touche, my friend.

Actually on second thoughts that'd just look like we're wasting time, lets just leave it with us entering Drakenhof

If you're really bored waiting, then set up the "TVC II: Hurry up and Post" thread to put pressure on slow posters. I'm not going to do this myself because I'm not waiting for DoN to approve my character, but I feel your pain, Narenzade, I had to wait out a lot of the final chapter of the TVC and the entire setup process of TVC II before I could get my character in the roleplay. Don't forget that Simon is also GM and can accept your character, perhaps sending PMs to both of them could get their attention, and then your characters approved.

I joined late 2010, back then I was waiting for TVC's last chapter to end, I even entered a character sheet. Dude I feel your pain.

Now I've stopped bragging, shall we just wait for DoN to post, it'll stop all this borderline arguing..

I would, but in a reversal of roles it appears Kraskor has forgotten something Nehklior hasn't...

We were supposed to meet Rowhaine on the edge of Slyvania. Time to turn around...

I thought we were supposed to meet him at Drakenhof itself? It's only his guard contingent who will be meeting him at the border, IIRC.

BTW, I really do think we need to 'distribute power', so as to speak. TVC does not strictly follow traditional roleplaying game mechanics, where the GM dictates everything and the players simply respond. We tried that for one chapter in TVC1, it was not well liked. There should be a number of people other than DoN empowered to approve new characters, get the plot moving, etc. Maybe ghouly was being overly imaginative with DoN's words, maybe not. Regardless, some of us should be allowed to do it IMHO, in order to avoid deadlocks. I do not care so much whether I am allowed to do it or not, just so long as somebody is allowed to.

I've looked in the new WD, and the main enemy in the TVC II (Chaos) has just had one of those WD "official updates" rather than a shiny new codex. :( The models look very cool though, Hellstriders of Slaanesh (Daemonettes riding on those fast things, except the daemonettes are actually men!) and Skullcrushers of Khorne (basically chaos warriors/chosen on juggernauts) being the two new units; a lot of other models have been remade and look awesome.
I've written this because you may want to mention these new terrors in the TVC II in the battles to come against Chaos.

I thought that since one of the iconic images of Kenshiro was him striding alone through the desert, I should have him approach Rowhaine directly. I appear to have condemned myself to a long boring wait...

Well Nekhlior and Kraskor will be heading there to meet Rowhaine soon so you'll have some company

I think Nithek was approved, its just that being the kind of character he is I wan't DoN's thoughts on how/when to bring him in, as he won't be heading straight to Drakenhoff (they don't invite skaven warlords to these shindigs for some reason).

Only DoN as far as I know knows where the Council will be going after their meeting, so I need DoN's direction on where my character and his forces go so people can "run into" the skaven somewhere.

What? Are there not one but TWO skaven already in the TVC II!?!?

In regards to what's happening after Drakenhof, I think only the GMs (DoN and Simon) know what's going to happen. That said, I'm not even sure that THEY know exactly what's going to happen - all the characters must voice their opinions in the meeting at Drakenhof before setting off, along with the TVC II's pace and flow, on their epic journey.

Oh, no, there's only Sanai's at the moment, but in his fluff he uses Clan Skritch (the name I gave to my skaven) Therefore, whether my character knows why or not, Nithek must die :D

In general, yes, but DoN mentions at some stage meeting Nehklior at the border; Kraskor would go with Nehklior for that.

Oh, but of course! I agree that "power" (for want of a better word!) should be "distributed", as you put it. What I disagree with is taking it straight out of DoN's hands, without him even knowing about it, all from a highly imaginative reading of his post. If DoN comes online and says "you there, member X, Y, and Z, you can approve characters" I will be very supportive. I will probably join you all in asking for that to happen even if DoN doesn't do it. What I am against is doing it behind his back, however, and leading to an irreversible problem. I may have been slightly over-zealous for heading off that before it could become an issue, so, to borrow from the Space Wolves, I recognise my failing and will be sure to correct it.

Well... I guess that while I wait for DoN to look at my character, does anyone else see anything that I blatantly need to alter? Probably should have asked this quite a while ago, but oh well... It would probably be nice to have everything at least looking right before he looks at it so as not to waste time, but I guess I still have yet to really figure out how to get my character into the story.

Also this is almost definitely the wrong place to ask this, but how do I link my character's profile into my signature? Sadly I don't have much experience with linking stuff like that in signatures for forums.

@Kavok; You find the post you want to link, and then press the red Post Number (so, your last one in this thread would be #469) and then the url at the top will change. Just copy that and link it to your sig ... To make it easy, this is the link :) :-

And I went through the hard way of quoting my own post to find out my postnumber so I could copy alastors link and then change the numbers!
Oh well, it got the job done all the same

Alright, thank you for the help.

Now to continue pondering how to get into good relations with vampires while still among the living...

if DoN has a problem or he thinks I crossed a line he can tell me himself I was merely taking inishitive and trying to keep crap rolling I Was Not however taking anything out of DoNs hands I even cominted on my Starscreaming

I'm sure if DoN came on he wouldn't have a problem, ghouly, that's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that you cannot simply assume that DoN is fine with that; let the words come out of his own mouth rather than inventing them. I understand you were trying to keep things rolling, but we don't want to be in a situation where DoN comes back and says "that's not at all what is in the story, characters A, B, and C shouldn't have been approved for X reasons, now we're in a pickle".
