Oh really? Man, nerf city. I suppose I would have still picked the upgrade for my character because it fits with his concept, but that makes me a much less effective defensive fighter...

The gap between the first and second erratas was quite short, like 2 weeks or so. It was probably a trick to move excess stock of Colonel Straken(and maybe Ragnar Blackmane and Jain Zar) models, or so they said back then.

BTW, does cover here work in the same way as regular 40k? Does the camo cloak do the same thing?

PS: I'm not going anywhere either. And I'm out of AP, so I'm waiting for the next action cycle/turn.

Sanai, if you liked how the grids worked you could always do a Double-alphabet double-number system of some sort. Say one direction along the grib is numbers (which are limitless so if it's a skewed battlefield you might want to use that on the long side) and then ~A-~Z, AA-AZ, BA-BZ or something along those lines with ~ as a stand in for zero which could be confuddled with the letter 'o'. This could provide you with a potentially limitless board, surely you would not need to go past ZZ or in excess of 100, allowing you to keep it to two codes.

Alternatively you could assign 'sectors' to the area using the latter bits of the alphabet or greek letters or the like if you want to go all classy. perhaps each sector is represented by a 10x10 area with a sector code. either Z-B9 (2nd row, 9th column of Z sector) or just use the code and two numbers, the first representing rows/ columns while the second represents the other such as B-36 (B sector- third row, 6th column)

Just two ideas. sure both are more complicated then the basic, but they do allow you to be able to address a far larger battlefield.

Breaking away from the grid, you could place a measure of trust in your RPers to do things appropriately and use a GoogleDoc collaboratively and have them perform their own movements and keep the whole thing live. I'm not sure if it would work but it's worth a try at least.

Did Sanai remember to roll the armor save on the Guardsman that I shotgunned? I imagine they have two wounds each like us, so he's probably not dead anyway.

/edit: I guess not. Serves me right for not posting in the IC thread about it. I suppose next time, I'll just go ahead and post that I fired, then let Sanai roll the armor save later.

I think a small tutorial on Assault would be appropriate just about now. How much can I move during an Assault?

[Edit: and how many AP's does it take?]

Orders make you carry out an action- that action uses AP as normal, but has the added benefits associated with the order.
Orders can be sent to the entire squad at once.
I have decided to switch blast weapons to using templates rather than the d3 thing- just nominate the target square or enemy and I will center the template and scatter it.

Wait, so following "move move move" costs an action point? What's the point if we can just move normally for 1AP

Also, we all have 3AP yes?

We all have 2 AP. It's in your statline I think.

One final question: who get's to choose when the wounds are re-allocated to me with the Look Out Arrrgh! -rule?

I hope I have some say on when I want to protect dudes. Otherwise Harland will just dump everything on me as he gets shot. xD

I believe there still people yet to act in this round aren't there?

Also, anyone who wants to run in should wait until i've taken my shot(if I can take it that is). In fact we should probably wait for orders, what from a RP point of view

Woopsie, I'll remove my extra distance ran from the "move move move" then

I think the order "move move move" is indicators enough of "move into the next room", but don't forget the heavy Bolter!

Yeah, I'll just wait a bit until we can all rush in and do some serious damage. It makes no sense in rushing in alone against 8-10 lasrifles and a possible heavy bolter.

Unless you're Harland. Then it makes perfect sense. xD

Hmm, I presume taking that shot only uses 1AP - in which case I'll move up 3 spaces & left 2 - Should give me a better position to help Sweeny take down the Heavy Bolter next phase/turn.

Edit: Also, you guys might want to be ready to go to ground when that HB lights up - Mannfred's 'Incoming!" order might be a good idea to reduce the risk of casualties.

I think our having 2 wounds is a sort of weak 'plot armor' for being player characters. The average NPC Guardsmen would be one wound apiece it seems.

If that's the case, Sledgehammer should have downed the guardsman he wounded with his Shotgun. Oh well, seeing as it's kind of too late now, I'll go along with Sarge's "move move move" order. Rolling 3D6 for the run...

The 2 wounds represents the fact that the player characters are veterans as opposed to normal soldiers. The enemy guardsman may very well survive his first wound, but he isn't tough enough to grit his teeth and keep fighting through it, and he likely gets put down by a shot to the head after the battle anyway.
Raizi, look out Arggh represents your character diving in front of another to catch a bullet, so its the players own choice whether that happens, not others.
Assault all happens in the next phase after the action phase.

May I suggest a seperate thread just with maps, and the most updated position of our guys on the map. Or am I the only one hating to find the map on some page I have forgot the number of, and then cross reference it with what people are doing, to figure out what I might self do.
