Hi all, name is Gobbos, or you can call me Alex. I started playing Vampires in the summer just before 7th edition came out. Originally my army was a Necromancer list, and in need of fundage I sold my army off shortly after O&G came back out. With the release of the new book, I definitely felt the seller's lament and picked up the new spearhead.
With the new book, I originally focused on Von Carsteins. But since December I've been in a bit of a rut about them, I went for over-balance and all I got was my undead butt handed to me. Last month I picked up the original Zombie Dragon, and since then I've been focused on Blood Dragons and I have not had a better time playing Vampires then right now. I'll be posting my list shortly, any comments are appreciated and welcome as always.

Hiya. I'm a rookie WarFan general who's never cast a Necro spell in anger... yet. Since I played D&D for decades, mostly DM'ing, I've always taken a serious liking to the vampires and undead beasties. At one place where I wrote fiction, one of the editors there was real good at Warhammer and helped me figure out what to get. So I started collecting the miniatures a few years ago and have painted some, but not nearly all. Never battled; always had something else to do: deal with life, work, lovely wife, video games, board games, card games. Painting the minis is a daunting project and I get on a roll for a week or so but then something happens and I end up doing other things. But I feel the urge now, and wife has always wanted me to paint not only all my stuff but some daemons for her too (!!!)
So I happily find this little nook of undeath, with lists, tactics, battle reports, interesting denizens and complete with a wonderful fluffy section of prose. Minis and cyber-dramas, hell yeah. I had my own story going at one time for a few years. You can either google my name in quotes or hop to this link to see the first chapter ( http://necromancergames.yuku.com/topic/8948/t/A-Gathering-of-Victims-The-Justiciars.html ) Once I drink in the totality of TVC I prolly will dive in there as well.
Let's see, here's what I have as my army so far:
completed: 20 skellies, 40 zombies, 20 ghouls, 20 dire wolves, 3 bat swarms, 3 ethereal hosts
in-process: 40 skellies, 20 grave guard, 2 o-f-vampire heroes
in-the-casket: 8 grave guard, 4 o-f-wight command, 3 m-wight command, 8 m-black knights, 1 m-black knight command, 10 fell bats, 2 banshees, 2 wraiths, m/o-f necromancers, m/o-f necrarchs, m/o-f von Carsteins, m/o-f blood dragons, o-f-Vlad, o-f-Izzy, m-Mannfred, varghulf, Corpse Cart, Black Coach, Blood Dragon on Winged Nightmare, Zach on Zombie Dragon, tomb king's Skull Catapult (yea I know it's a different squad, but it's soooo cool...) m=mounted, o-f=on-foot. Not totally sure what else I'd need, but the game seems to change every so often so ya never know.
If I can get the digi-camera to work I'll post a painting log too.

I've been playing WFB since around the beginning of 6e, but have been on a general wargaming hiatus since graduating from college almost 3 years ago. I picked up 40k again around Christmas, and Warhammer Online has drug me back into WFB. VCs were my first Fantasy army, and hold a special place in my gaming heart, despite the fact that they seem to have at least a little flavor of the month syndrome at the moment. I also play Lizardmen and Tomb Kings, as well as Orks and Tyranids in 40k.
My VC army got up to nearly 3k points back during the Storm of Chaos campaign, with my theme shifting to heavy Empire/Brettonian model usage thanks to the now defunct Sylvanian list. All the same, I like the theme, so am going to continue on with it, though right now I am spending quite a bit of time rounding up my old models.

As I said Vekarin, there are only so many decent countries, whilst there are millions of beautiful women (or men if you prefer) out there.
