Hello everybody :)

I'm totally new to Vampire Counts, and hopping to get some good advice here :)

I've been playing with Emipre, and then i realize (after big tournament, and 24-th place out of 30, and total destruction of my army in several games) that WH maybe isn't for me :(. So I made little break (about a year, or so) and now i want to start VC :)
Some themed army, "empire from beyond the grave!", and get back in game, as mu long lost Empire army but undead now :devil2:

Well, thats in short, now to go around the forum to see what's out there

Good evening fellow lords of the night I'm Rapheal Corbeau. I finally got around to registering myself to this wonderful site. I just started playing Fantasy a few months ago and have already learned a lot reading this forum. I have played 40k for a few years now and I wanted a change so I started a Fantasy army. Of course with my love of everything and anything vampires I naturally chose the Counts as my first army. I look forward to continuing to learn more about this awesome army and getting to know some of the more veteran players out there. Now I must go for the night is still young and I am very thirsty.[/font]

Welcome to Carpe Noctem Rapheal, and to you Milos and Originman.

This is indeed the place to be for all things Vampire Counts, and there a great many talented and helpful people around the forum that are more than willing to share their wealth of ideas and experience.

Hopefully you find this place to your liking and stay, and I hope that I get to see you around the forum.

Heya, long time lurker, first time poster here
I've been playing VC for... I don't know, 18 months? And they're my first army... it was a natural choice 'cause vampires are bad ass :vampire3: My main opponents are Warriors of Chaos, and I play with another friend regularly but I don't think even he knows his main  It's been Dark Elves, Vampire Counts and now Empire, which *apparently* are staying... I'll believe it when I see it.

Hey everybody.
Well, I am only just starting Warhammer after playing 40k for about a year. Chose Vampire Counts because they seem to be so drastically different to what I was used to. Bought the army book and am loving it so far!

Hi! I'm a 40k player, but I'm looking to get in to WHFB. I don't know how to play and I don't have an army, but a friend and I are gonna figure it out together. I want to play VC!

Thanks!

what better time to start than now? new edition of whfb is here! hope you enjoy VC and welcome!

Hey all, I've been apart of the forum for several months but haven't been very active and realized I never introduced myself. I've been playing VC since 6th edition over here in the western United States and I love the army. Glad to meet you all.

Hi all. Just doing the introduction thing. I've been a WFB player for a while. Mainly Chaos, with Undead allies from the older editions. However, with the splicing of Chaos, rather than have 3 partial armies, i've been converting them to Undead figures. So, I have a decent sized Vampire Counts Chaos-Themed army... with outdated allies and DoW waiting for rules to return.

Welcome to CN Chris, Althulus and Harbinger! If you've got enough brains to send an introduce yourself thread then you haven't been eating enough of your own brains as well as others. Repent now! Frontal lobes taste great after enough booze :P

See Y'all in the forums!

I've been watching this forum for a while now (almost a month) ever since I found out about the Mantic Undead line of models. With 8th edition right around the bend, I plan on starting VC as my sixth (!) Warhammer Fantasy army. I already have 3k of Dwarfs, 2250 TK, 1k DoC (rapidly expanding), and the starts of 500 point WoC and Goblins. I'm a busy lad, but VC look like a ton of fun, and expanding my undead collection sounds like a lot of fun.

As is evident from my username here, I really like the ghostly aspect of VC, something my TK never had. I plan on building up to a 3k VC list with a ghost theme (minus being OTT ethereal). I picked up the book and a box of (mantic) wraiths recently, so I'm planning on building my army up from there.

Hi, most of you won't know me yet.

I've been using vampires for the last 2 years, but never felt the need to seek advice on them from a forum, their being a strong enough force that in 2000pts or more they are quite forgiving. And so I developed my own style of play; WIN OR DIE!

I've used, as 2000 and at 2250, a lone scouting terror causing M9 lord with red fury, sword of striking and the wristbands. I've used a flying frostblade. I don't think I'll ever do either of these crazy things again, but I had to try each of them out.

Normally though, my trademark has been Black Knights. 2 units, one off on it's own, either with Hellish Vigour or with a War Banner if I have a Varghulf to babysit them. The other containing a Drakenhof or a lord with Blood Drinker, or both.

I can see for 8th edition there are going to be 2 extremes to my vampire armies; Low magic, and all magic.
Either magic is going to win me the game, or else I doubt I'll even cast a spell (which would be a shame considering the way our bound spells are now good, and as 1 cheap spell the Danse is so much better than what the opponent has.

I'm also working on Dwarfs for 8th edition, so for variety's sake I'm concentrating on the "Victory by Self Destructive Magic" Vampires for the moment.

Take the "Greater Purple Sun" for example. I'm going to be aiming for irresistable force, so 6 dice plus power stone for 8 dice, or else 5 or 6 dice with a power scroll. So, first resolve the spell. 1 in 6 chance, the spell kills the caster, every time. Then a 1 in 12 chance that the miscast kills the caster, ever time. Thats 1 in 6, plus 1 in 12, that's 3 in 12 = 1 in 4. Oh, and then there's also a 1 in 6 that rather than having a chance to kill him, rather than doing as commanded and flying off across the enemy battle line, it just meandres about on top of his unit killing them off.
That's awesome, I'll take 3.

Seriously, I will.

I like the big horrible spells with their decent chance at backfiring and killing my lord causing my army to vanish.

I'm being serious.

Stop laughing.

Greetings, My name is William Draven. I'm an illusionist by profession, but a gamer at heart. I played Vampire Counts as part of the Storm of Chaos campaign some odd six years ago now while I was still in employment of Games Workshop out in California (where I live). I fell in love with the counts back then when I proudly played the Slavania army list, which was a special option made available by that campaign.

After I left Games Workshop to further pursue my career in show business I sold off my original army. I thought I would be done finally with the hobby. Without my massive employee discount enabling easy purchases, I figured I'd only have enough income to support one hobby, and magic was more important at that time.

Last Christmas, much to my chagrin, a good friend of mine bought me a box of skeleton models because we were role playing in a game that had a lot of undead things running around. I dusted off my old tools, and got bit by the Vampire bug all over again!

So now I'm back working on my counts, and I'm very excited to be so too! There are so many more options available to my vamps now, and the rules looks like the army just got all that much more powerful. I can't wait to bring fear and terror to the armies that dare oppose my rightful claim to Sigmars throne!

Welcome Ghostking: I've already had a chance to share thoughts on your ghost army, sounds like a creative list that will be as much fun to put together as it is to play.

Welcome Wiggins: Judging from your intro it looks like we can look forward to your (self-destructive) posts in the tactics section!

Welcome William Draven: There is no escape from the undead, after all haunting is a specialty.

Hello, It's Issa Bella again, I took a hiatus from Warhammer during moving and school but due to involuntary slow down of my class schedule and my husband dropping never ending hints that he misses it I think it will not be long before my army sees the darkness of destruction again. So now that I have forgotten all the rules and they have changed them anyway hopefully I can use the site to help jump me back in .. On the personal side, I am in the U.S Virginia. I am way to close to my 30's but dont act it, I work full time and school part time so my life is a little hectic, my husband is a cop and in National Guard with a possible 3rd deployment ahead so yeah life stays hectic. no kids but i have 2 basset hounds lizards and frogs.. I miss the GW store that they took away from our area and I'm looking forward to getting back to playing with my abandoned army

Hi everyone, I'm CoOp (coop). I don't play WHFB yet. However, with the new rulebook I am feeling more and more inclined to start, and VC is definitely my first choice for army.
Oh, also, I do play 40k. I play (what other army?) Space Marines.
So...yeah.

Hi Vamps,

I just joined this awesome site. I'm a long-time collector of GW and just started to get back into playing in the last few years. My main army is Dark Elves and I am still working on that, but have been a fan of the Vamps since the Undead book was split. Currently, I have a grand total of 5 knights painted, and plan on building a Strigoi/Old Strigos themed army from the 6th Ed book, but a bit more noble/old school than the degenerates they later became...

See you around!

well hello there i have been in hibernation re warhammer for over a decade so many changes! last time i played was when the lizards and bretts were the latest box set.Busy ressurecting a vc army great new models but those black knights are ugly !so have made my own using barding from empire cav, grave guard head and shield/skelly spear, tomb kings cav and lotsa green stuff for tabard and greaves etc will post pic when painted and would love feedback so anyway hi and bye

If this is the place for introductions, then allow me to introduce myself.

I am Undeadkemea but Kemea or simply Undead will do :) I am fairly new to warhammer and I just love the vampires and the bloodlines. Necrarch is the way to go ofcourse. Conducting experiments, raising the dead, feasting on the inevitable demise of your enemies due to endless knowledge WHAAAHAHAHAHAHA :devil2: Oh sorry got a bit carried away there...hehe....

As I mentioned I am fairly REALLY new xD I have about 40 zombies and 1 black coach....and only have painted 10 zombies T_T I have a few tyranids aswell....but I thought fantasy is more my thing.....Especially since 40k doesn't have vampires like the VC does! :P Wanting to forge a mighty army built from the endless necrotic knowledge we vampires posess. And I am certainly looking forword to some vampiric aid in my quest :)

Now I must rest, fare thee well fellow nightwalkers.

Ghoulish greetings to all.

Im Stephen im from london and have been lurking in the shadows for a while. I used to play undead in the 5th edition and have now started again.

Will be picking your brains about my first game coming up on saturday soon and hope to get involved in general.

I guess it is time to intrude myself.

I am a 25 years old fellow from Sweden and have played the game sense the 5ht edition with a more tournament orientated focus the last 4 years. And have during that time focused on my DoW, OK and Dark Elves forces. I have the larger part of the armies in WFB and have recently started a VC and TK project that can be followed in the signature link below.

Hopefully I can contribute with something to this very good site, greetings.

Hey there.

I've been stalking these forums for the past few weeks, so I thought I'd just introduce myself.
I'm a 20 year old student from Denmark.
After something like 8 years away, I've returned to the hobby, and after looking at the prices of GW these days, I bought some Mantic undead stuff and set to work on painting again. I've found a lot of inspiration in the painting logs on this forum, and I want to thank everyone that made them for that.
I hope to start a painting log myself in a few weeks, after I've been out travelling.
Looking forward to trolling with you :)
