Introduce yourself!

Hi all,

I'm new to the forums, and WFB in general, so when I saw this thread I thought I'd pop in and introduce myself a little. I'm a 21 year old student from the USA - bought a couple Warhammer models a few years back, (VC, naturally ;) ), and painted them up but never really got into the whole gaming aspect until now. A good buddy of mine got me back into it, and promised me a couple games with his DE army once I got mine up and runnin-err, shambling. I found the forums not long after, and I knew right away I'd found the perfect place to discuss army lists and modelling tips :)

So to wrap up, happy to be a new member, and I hope to become better acquainted with the rest of you over the coming weeks. Happy gaming!

Hi all,
I'm new in this forum, but I'm not new in FB, and I prefer painting and converting between playing xD
Can anyone illustrate me where I could talk about painting and modelling?:suck:
I have only VC mini, kilos and kilos of VC painted minixD now I'm working at a Vampire on horse and I'm modelling a Strigoi...
I hope I could find a lot of friends and suggest for painting my vampire:konrad:

Hiya. I'm a 17-year-old college bound student and I'm from around Pittsburgh, PA. I started playing WFB recently, so my friend and I have battled with cardboard pieces until the arrival of the 8th edition rulebook (we were wary of either of our armies getting nerfed). Needless to say, I am very excited to begin the collection process and assemble my undead hoard. And yes...I am aware that playing with cardboard cutouts is far from legitimate and is on the whole rather miserly.

This site is fantastic, and I hope that soon it shall give me the tools I need to send my companion's Skaven meat army back into those tunnels it crawled out of!

Hello all!

Puppethead here. I've been an O&G collector/painter/player for almost 10 years. I'm known as Queequeg over at Da Warpath forums. I love my greenskins, but I have grown weary of losing with them. I always knew that if I decided to start a new army it would be VC all the way.

So here I am.

Here are some examples of my work. I'm also looking for suggestions on what I should add to my spearhead to make it a competitive list.

NGBB on GCS (This won best single model at the 2010 Quake City Rumble)
Albino Squig Hoppers
Spider Riders

Thou shall introduce thouself

Hi guys (and ladies)!

After several months of reading & checking on this forum, I finally decide to join the melee :clown: I've already learned some nice stuff by surfing over tactics and past experiences, and now I'd like to post my own thoughs(:

About WHF, I'm still considered a new player, because I didn't play lots of games since I started to play (3 years now) -- However, I recently found new buddies willing to play, so I should get some more battlefield experience pretty soon ;) I'll keep you informed. For now, VC are the only army I've tried.....and I kinda LOVE them  AWWWWSOME!!!

Lastly, sorry for language mistakes; I am french canadian, and I'm not perfectly bilingal.

See ya later, dead buddies ;)

Hi all
Stacius here, have finally given in to my love of the shambling hordes and joined the Eternal rank's of the Vampire Count's.
I used to be a Bretonnian player (Mousillon anyone?) but am currently convertin pegasus into Hellsteed's for my Vamp's. :suck:

Hi all! After shuffling about blankly looking for inspirstion for my army, I thought it was time for me to jump into the horde and go with the flow. I'm not much of a gamer so prefer the painting side of things so tend to take a relaxed view on the hobby.

I started the hobby at 12 with 40k and fantasy at about 16 during that time I've dabbled with most of the armies ranging from a painted unit and leader to full armies. During the past few years I've tended to settle on armies for a while, rotating between a few when I need a change of colour, however I'm not some fantastically great painter but it has been nice to see how that's come on during my time.

I started with VCs with the coming of the latest edition during university after seeing the Vlad and Mannfred models in preview and love the mixture of gribliness and some sort of morbid sophisticion.

Blood Dragon Vampires tend to be my favourite bloodline possibly followed by Strigoi types due to my unhealthy love of getting up close and personal. :)

hi . . .
my name is talha i just logged in after joining and this is my first post , nice forum keep up the blood work . . . !!!
My favorite vampires are the Blood Dragons . . . (:

Hey everyone! The lure of undeath has finally taken hold, and I've joined the ranks of the Vamps :)

I'm on a lot of other forums under the same username, too.

I'm looking forward to posting here more :)

Hi there

Im new to Vampire Counts, after reading the new rulebook (got the limited edition one, but im not boasting ;)) i cast my Lady of the Lake aside and fell in love with Vampires. Im a big magic fan and hope to build a 2000 pt army.

Thanks for reading, Much Love

Hello fellow vampires. this is my second warhammer army, my first being Dwarfs (gotta love those stubborn little guys) and i am pretty much running blindfolded through a forest with them. have always had an interest in vampires and that was the main motivation for collecting them. Im going for a more show-off army with my vamps but i wouldnt mind getting a few games in with them. main enemy will most likely be empire ( im involved in a very small gaming circle...more like triangle, on occasion a square).

Im not much of a painter and even less so of a gamer but its all in good fun. Hope to meet alot of new and interessting people!

I'd also like to welcome all of you newly registered people who I've yet to meet around the forum. I hope you'll have a happy hunting season here on Carpe Noctem and if you've any questions about the place or anything else in general, you are perfectly free to ask away. :)

Hello all,

I decided it was time to introduce myself proper. I'm Creeper, 26 years of age, denizen of a small town in northeast Pennsylvania. I play O&G, which I'm going to complete painting and rid myself of any "primer army" stigma. I'm looking to expand into VC when all Orcy matters are completed. I read a great deal of fiction, wasting time by writing my own every so often. I appreciate the "fluff" aspect of this hobby more than some. I'm not the most competitive gamer, personally finding theme more integral to the success of an army. Anyway, its good to start posting here - look forward to getting to know you all a bit more.

Welcome to CN! Wow, a whole primed army? I'm still rocking some undead greys :P
Well if fluff is your thing, you can't do much better than CN for it. We've got some cracking fluff, I'd recommend reading Voltaire's... Erm... I forget what it's called :P It's a damn good read though!
Wish I could say the same, I just plain suck at the game these days :P

See you in the Forums

Greetings My Fellow browsers.

My VC army is themed as possibly The Empire's worst Nightmare.

You'll be getting some lovely Fluff and some painted models as I paint them.

Name's Stephen and I've been playing VC since 6th Ed.

(the username is the name of a Vampire in the Army.)

Welcome to CN!

Heh, your VC are at the expense of the empire too? My old 6th edition was an entire zombie empire army with blood dragons as elector counts :P
Start up a Plog now quick-quick!

See you in the Forums

This is my second incarnation of VC since I started playing WHFB in 1985-1986. I currently play Dwarves as well as VC, which are based on Bretonnian Mousillon forces after the era of Maldred. I also play Witch Hunters and IG in 40K, which I started with SM in Rogue Trader in 1987. I look forward to the new rules, which I bought yesterday, but haven't been able to look at yet. I heard we got nerfed. I hope it ain't so.

ELLO folks, how's the blood sucking going?

lol, I just started collecting vampires this summer and I've been stalking the forums for a good month during work (break time reading haha), finally decided to join today

Hopefully there won't be too much bullying xD on newbies lol

G'day from above the grave, I live *Mwahahahahahaha* my hordes are rising and my stylish coffin shaped bed is all set for my reign of terror upon the mortal races.:perv:

I joined CN today after discovering the site a few weeks back when I began painting my first VC mini. After completing my Vamp I joined so I could show him off to all you VC enthusiasts! You can see pictures here or check out these bigger ones below.

I've been painting on and off since I was 13 but drifted away from the hobby for about 5 years when I was 18. I returned again when my girlfriend encouraged me to rekindle it and bought me the foundation paint set from GW. Now at 23 I've not looked back and my painting has come on in leaps and bounds.
With regards to the gaming side of things I've only ever played Mordheim in which I've had Reikland, Marienburg, Witch Hunter and Undead warbands. I also used to play a bit of 40k back in my younger days.

Hello fellow Vampire Count players I am mindninja from Montreal. I was big into warhammer fantasy when I was about 13 years and only just recently picked it back up. I've been able to touch up a few of my models. I have started playing against my friend's lizardmen army using the 8th edition rules and I lost my first game. I've been checking out strategies and I'm thinking I might use the lore of death and purple sun of xereus. I like to convert models from other armies into vampire ninjas.

Hello all. I just discovered this site yesterday, and I have to say the talent here just blows me away. WOW!

I don't play the game anymore, but do still build and paint the models. Hopefully this site will help my skills out a bit. Hope to "meet" a few of you soon.

hey

i really cant remember if i introduced myself when i made this account or not, but i will introduce (or reintroduce) myself

long time lurker here, absolutely love some of the things i have saw here, been a modeller/painted mostly as i played 40k mostly, however with the new edition being released my gaming partner and i brushed off the dust and rallied the troops ;)

hoping to start a painting log on my army for advice, tips, c&c and to, ofc see what you guys think :)

Hi,
Just joined the site having been directed by one of the Waagh cast podcast guys. A veteran, in age not skill ;) , I used to play many years ago but got back into the hobby through my nephew who started playing the GW LOTR games when the movies came out. He of course has subsequently grown up while I was re-hooked. Decided on collecting VC largely because of the models and fluff, and now have quite a large force collected but loads still to paint (mixture of old and new GW with some Mantic mixed in because I love the models and price!).

Don't really play much, ,mostly campaign or story driven stuff when I do, but looking to change this hence joining the forum to scan for advice on improving my painting/modelling and putting together competitive lists and tactics. That's a bit about me so looking forward to enjoying and utilising the wealth of content here!

All the best
