Hi guys - I'm Scott and I've been playing WFB since secondary school... although I now have something I find incredibly useful... disposable income. I'm 32, live in Kent, father of one and stepfather to three... Oh, and there's the cat and the dog as well - although they're normally the best behaved of the lot, well, the dog is...

My very first WFB army was undead way back in the early 1990's. Been playing Wood Elves and Skaven more recently, but like the stickers in the shop said, New Warhammer, New Army - and I believe everything stickers tell me... So I got the Vampire Counts Battalion yesterday. Already assembled and painted the Crypt Gouls and halfway through painting the Corpse Cart. There should be some interesting horde/elite games in the house as one of the kids is playing Warriors of Chaos.

Basically here for hints and tips, modelling, painting and gaming. I'm no pro painter, far too messy for that, but I'm pretty good with the green stuff. I'm trying to make a more realistic looking army as everything I've seen in the new army book is a bit cartoony and bright (or is that just me? They don't look like they've just forced their way out of a plague pit of through 6 feet of earth and a coffin lid if you see what I mean?). Anyway, I'm sure that's enough for now - Thanks for reading.

Hi all,
I'm xtommyxgunx. I've been creeping around these forums for a couple of months. My two batallion boxes of VC arrived TODAY, and I'm knee-deep in assembling my zombies. I bought the 8th ed. rulebook on day one, so I guess you could say I'm brand new at this. I've always been intrigued by RPG's and war games, but it wasn't until this summer that I finally succumbed and dove in along with a friend of mine from a town not far away. I'm 25 and live in Atlantic Canada, I'm getting married in October, and need all the pointers and help I can get (on marriage and warhammer)!
See you around soon!
Tom

hello all guys.....
Please post up some work in progress pictures of your Vampires! You haven't been able to fix your name, have you? thanks

Heya,

>bows to all the assembled bats and fangs<

Just realised I have posted a few times already on the forum but did not think to introduce myself! That's terribly bad mannered of me - so hello to everyone!

Been lurking around the forum for a long time, and although Warhammer has interested me for years, I have only managed to get back into it with the advent of 8th edition. I haven't played a game in years, but the new rulebook's lovely background section grabbed me. What can I say, I am a sucker for grim fantasy!

I actually built and painted a converted Brettonian Undead force over a decade ago, most of which is still lurking in my boxes of miniatures. I have until recently been battling to build a Chaos Dwarf force (and hello to any here from the Chaos Dwarves online forum too) but I just can't get into painting them - so back to the undead it is! Hopefully I will have more success with my graverobbing!

TTFN (Ta Ta for now) and have fun all

Welcome one and all ye scurvy dogs to CN! Nice ta see we're gettin' some fresh blood, the rum wasn't half as good without it. I be feelin' like a pirate seein as how I just stubbed my toe and can't stop sayin' "(y)aaarrrgh"
So remember ye yella bellied land lubbers, we're all just nails in the same coffin ship. So lets get hammered! :D

Hi all, I may be an old warhammer player with about 20 years of playing behind me but as far as Vampire Counts are concerned I'm brand new. I'm actually so new that my ordered figures have yet to arrive but that could not stop me from joining the vampire society.. When you are bitten there is just no point fighting the curse that are taking holdm instead choose to embrace it.

From what I have seen so far this seems to be a really great "community" and I'm happy to have joined the rank of the rulers of the night and masters of the dead.

Best Regards
Sinistral

Been ghosting this forum for quite sometime, trying to pick up youre tricks, to better fight you, im a wood elf player who quite often fight the undeads. Dont worry I usually loose :swear:

But decided to join the forum, so I could join the roleplays, which seems to be very well run.

Hi. Just getting into Warhammer Fantasy. Played 40k for about 4 years with Orks and Space marines. Great game but need a change. Don't quite have money yet for a new army till i get a job, but of all the armies I've looked at VC looks the most fun for me. Already found a ton of great ideas on this site as far as tactics go and I have a pretty good idea of what to buy once I have the funds to do so. Decided to register after I realized the most detailed VC information I've found as been from this forum.

Welcome all of you to CN! Just beware of those who go bump in the night *Looks at DoN and Rob*
The Counts are very different in 8th edition, still good fun but more challenging to use (At least against horde orcs...), the role play part of this site really can't be beat! Some of our most dedicated members moderate it, so jump straight in and have a blast.
Always good to see some 40kers trying something new. I'm a chaos player myself, if you can corrupt it, I've probably modeled it ;)

See y'all in the forums!

Hey all, I've been playing WFB since middle school, started out with Dwarves, and have had my fun with Goblins, Empire, and Bretonnia as well. However, I just moved Across Canada and had to leave all my models with my family, so I decided to start a VC army. just bought the battalion box set and I'm just about finished assembling all the minions of undeath! :konrad:

Hi everybody.

i have only recently been given the blood kiss and started to command by own rotting legion of undead:vampire3: and am already thourourly enjoying it( although shooty armies are a bit of a problem)

Hello everyone!

I'm new here, I stumbled upon this forum while I was searching for some painting tips for my army to be, an army that now has started to grow. I'm not a fast painter, but thorough, quality over quantity I guess. While I've been planning my color schemes Ive also been lurking around here, trying to get a good feel for the forum and the people using it. Surprisingly - since it is a forum for the followers of undeath - most of you seem to be quite friendly and funny.

Anyway, I'm 25 years old and I live here with my wife and daughter, I'm studying to work as a preschool teacher and this is my first attempt at collecting an army.

See you all around the forum.

Greetings fellow lords of the night! After dining on the wisdom of this dark council for so long I have deemed it time to share what morsels I possess. See you in the teachings of aborash >:3

I guess I should formally introduce myself.

My real name is James and I live in Columbus, OH. I'm actually trying to sell off my current fantasy army in favor of another 40k army. I know I know . . . .

I really enjoy Wargaming and painting.

Hello,
I'm a long time warhammer player. I've played VC (my favorite), Dwarfs, wood elfs, darkelfs, high elfs, and empire for a bit. I'm from pittsburgh pa and i do paint and modle, but i enjoy playing the game the most.

My main forcus for 8th is vampire counts, Within my group we play deamons, chaos warriors, empire, wood elfs, skaven, lizard men, and dwarfs. We just started a campain, not sure of the specifics yet but i'm very hopeful. I've had some bad luck with my last forum (i think it was just me) so i'm hoping to get good feed back from here. :)[/font]

Greetings I have zero Warhammer fantasy experience, I dont even own the game. I do however have 115 units of High Elves and around 80 units of a Chaos army. You may well question why I come here then? Well I have started to collect an army from the mantic figure range and I really like their undead so my natural lean will be to also convert these into a VC army and so will bug people for advice probably on painting and conversion ideas more than anything.
I will probably at some point of course get Warhammer Fantasy and the Codex once I catch up with my painting around 60 undead at the moment

Hello, I'm a long time lurker that finally decided to sign up. I have been playing Vampire Counts since before they were Vampire counts (4th ed.) I started with 2 of the OLD skeleton army box sets.

Salutations,

Got into the game with the Undead army book. Didn't try out the first two Vampire Counts army books. Eventually gave in.

Primary motivation was the lack of hair and skin to paint on Skeletons.

Hello everyone :D i have been lurking in this forum and was a little bit shy to post here and any of my work.My name is catherine i'm 32 years old.I just want to say that i love your forum and it is the best out there about the VC :) I have been collecting some VC figures (a battalion box) and also have a brettonia battalion. Also i'm making a terrain and after all this is done i will start playing with my husband and friends :P

Good evening kindred.

Let me introduce myself.
I'm 29.Hunting the dark streets of Belgium. My language is Dutch ( i hope that i wont make to much typo's, if i do please correct them) I have found this forum 1 week ago, scrolled trough the toppics, kept an eye on member activity, looked at some pics ,... and love it.I registerd Yesterday and starting posting today and most likely some long time to come.
I started WHF late 5th.Played trough 6th and quit playing after a few games of 7th.(Yes nothing more depressing the seeing your dwarfs run after losing CR with 1 from a unit skelly's.)
I was a Dwarf player.But i've always liked VC.Both on fluff,models and tactics.
In our local store gaming was top priority. I really dont like the word, but powerplay is the one that comes to mind.
I've seen all the powerarmy's rise after they got a new book or finaly can make use of a special rule in there book:WE, the empire, Skaven, HE.And i got tired of it.
8th was just a excuse to get me back in the game.People are saying VC has taken a beating with the new rules.I realy dont see how. What i feel that is happend, mostly all army's are going to have there tactics changed.

Read ya all around

Lots of new people here I see. Looks like our fears of the 8th edition scaring people away from the Vampire Counts were ungrounded. :)

Welcome one and all. I hope you'll find yourself right at home here on Carpe Noctem, and if you've got anything to ask about the forum itself (or most anything else too, if you feel like it) you should not hesitate to do so.
