Hello folks,

New forumite here.. my name's Mark (30-something, married, one beautiful daughter) and got back into Warhammer when passing my local (Brighton, UK) GW store a few years ago. I used to play as a kid and am happy to still feel the same allure and excitement that the hobby can bring.

I'm primarily a collector and painter but do enjoy the army building and battle side of things when I summon the energy to take my army out. I currently have a 2K+ points painted VC army and am trying to finish painting my last couple of figures (the Terrorgeist and some BKs) before the shiney new range of figures emerge.

Anyway.. I'm off to lurk around the painting area of the forum where I'll be sharing some of my WIPs etc.

Happy gaming!

Greetings. Been undead since 5th Edition. Only played friendly games but with the new Vampire Counts to be released I realized that I had to leave my mansion and broaden my horizons. That led me here and hopefully I shall see you out there.

Hello, I am jumping on the VC bandwagon/mortis engine! I have a bad habit of starting armies and not finishing them--the furthest I've ever gotten is 1000 points of Wood Elves and about a 1000 of Space Marines. This has more to do with dissatisfaction with my painting than lack of will, though, and I feel (hope?) that I've finally reached a proficient enough level that I'll be able to stick with these guys. The models look great, the army flavor appeals to my sensibility, and I've already started painting up some ghouls.

Hello all! I think It's time to finally sign here! I'm from the land of polarbears, Finland, nice to meet you all!
I've been playing with VC since 2008 and I also have about 3k OK and Skaven. Already ordered new army book and 10 hoaxwraiths and some other models, can't wait using them!

:mummy:

Greetings to you all,

Let's start with that I live in Finland. I have started playing Warhammer Fantasy Battles when I was like 13 years old, now I'm 22. At first I started with Orcs & Goblins and collected them for a pretty long time. As time went by I changed my primary army a lot (I have collected nearly every army a little). Maybe those worth mentioned are O&G, High Elves, Vampire Counts, since they are the only ones I've played with. I have also quit warhammer many times, but always something draws me back. Well, few times it was because I had no friends who collected anymore, so I quit then too.

Last summer I started collecting VC. At first it was just because I wanted to play warhammer and I wanted an army that would be easily painted if wanted. Still somehow, at the moment I have gotten pretty much into painting and been trying to do some blending etc. with little success. But let's see how it goes after a little practicing. I also thought I could start my own painting log in here so I could get some feedback and get more motivated.

Now I have got an idea to create Blood Dragon themed army with all the new models and stuff. Lately I've been missing the 6th edition version of Vampire Lord, when you could only field one more powerful vampire lord character. It just suits the vision of my army so well. :D

Lately I also started playing 40k with a couple of friends as Grey Knights.

Well, let's see how things go in the future.

Nevelorn

Hey everyone :)

Another new guy here! I've been collecting and playing for a little over 11 years now, beginning with 40k, though VC were my first fantasy army and have always had a soft spot for them since.

Been out of the hobby for a while, but am now getting properly back into it after making half-baked plans to do so for the last 9 months or so, and am actually making enough money now to afford it too, which just so happens to synch up perfectly with the new VC release! Huzzah!

Can't wait to get into all these new rules and models and have some fun on the forum :B

What a coincidence! I can't usually make it during term time due to being knackard from work and due to commitments at home, but I'm more free during the school holidays (as I work in education) so you may well see me down there some time.

(Spoken in Bad Transylvanian Accent) Good Evening!

I just found this site through a google search. I have been playing Warhammer fantasy since the original booklets came out. We used to just play with cardbaord counters we photocopied with a few miniatures to represent heroes and monsters. If you want to know just how far back that was, the original rules had pictures of Ral Partha and Grenedier miniatures in it along side of Citadel offerings!
Being a role player/Dungeon Master, I have always a goodly selection of undead for that, but never enough to field a whole army. My best friend Jeff ran undead before they got all split up into wet and dry so he had screaming skull catapults, chariots, archers and vampires in his collection.
With the arrival of the new book we decided to work on creating proper Vampire forces (Up with Uberwald!)
I have a large Empire force, Some skaven, Tomb kings (Originally bought for an Egyptian themed RPG I was running) a smattering of Orcs and a bunch of unpainted elves people keep trading to me.
I run a painting service called Pigments of your imagination (pigmentsofyourimagination.com) and most of my figure painting is up on webshots My Webshots albums

Hoping to pick up some strategy tips and share painting stuff and get some ideas from your conversions and painted minis!

I am Vampireguy85 and brand new to Warhammer in general as well as the Vampire Counts. Rather I should say I tried to collect the Undead army back in my preteens before they split the units amongst both Tomb Kings and Vampire Counts it was one big jumbled army. I just didn't have the money or patience at that age to pursue it so I dropped off and joined a D&D club at school at the time.
I just started collecting last summer and have yet to finish painting my first skeleton warriors so I haven't even played my first game yet. Can't wait to get my hands on the table with them!
Also I'm in the United States in a land called Massachusetts where we fight the British and throw our tea into the ocean. Or rather we once did :). Looking for people to game with locally too since the local hobby store doesn't get much Warhammer activity.

Greetings,

my name is slipknotzim, i am from maryland in the contnetal U.S. i have been playing warhammer 40k sense mid 3rd eddtion with a few breaks. i have always been intrested in WFB but never had money/time when the last vampire counts book came out (not the january one thats our now) i bought the starting battlaion thing when grave guard modles came out. i have most of it painted now( would be done its been a long time but i kept up more one 40k)
i really want to learn to play WFB and i love the vampire counts, i got Island of blood to learn but 2 of the hobby shops closest to me both went under so i half a blood island set(split with a freind who gave up on fantasy but kept the modles) is all i had left from it. i found a new shop but its far from me over an hour but my wifes mom lives like 10 mins from it so i may be able to work this out yet. but i joined up hear to learn how to actuly work this army as oppsesed to just how i think it will work, oh and when i found out about the new book it was the perfect time to join up, and hopefully get some good advice and so help along the way.

i am an advade painter and have painted models from all over the WH40k and WFB worlds. i take alot of pride in my work and i feel confadent in the quility i am able to produce now :perv:

[size=medium]

right here we go finally battled through registration and avatar loading i have arrived ,

at last some new decent warhammer Vamp figures in plastic and some heavy hitting character models krell was always a bad ass ,

at the moment i have mostly been painting skeletons , i dont care if they are pants i think they should be in any vamp army same with zombies or you lose the flavour ( no pun intended ) and i will probably get some of the new cavalry they look nasty and you can chop them around , undecided on the throne its a bit over the top for me ??

do like crypt horrors they just look the business :skull:

hiya im Jim of the Dead
im an all round horror and fantasy fan in south london, uk
i like going to zombie walks and zombie events like world zombie day and im really into horror film festivals . i love messing about with prosthetics sillocone etc and zombifying myself up to the max. i work as a compositor on movies which basically means i do computer animation/ VFX for film so i dont get a lot of time for hobbys.

i used to play epic,40k,WHFB, blood bowl, man o war and necromunda in the 90s in my teens / pre teens. undead and chaos dwarves were always my two main armies in whfb and im a member of chaos dwarves online

the only hobby ive done since the turn of the millenium is run my own ebay shop selling chaos dwarfs bighats and conversions painted. it was called the iamahobgoblin store

im hoping i can find more time to paint and game in the future. id like to raise a undead esque style army led by necromancers and filled with beautiful units, and do more painting to sell on ebay of random stuff. id also like to learn how to sculpt as i want some women and children in my zombie regiments.

look forward to getting to know you all and if anyone wants a game of warhammer in the south london area give me a shout please!

Hello there!

My name's Miekaleon and I am new here. Hope to learn a lot about Vampire counts army tactics, painting and meet other vamp. players.

:vampire2:

Hello to fellow VC players,
Been playing WHFB since summer of `03. Started with LM - loved dinosaurs as a kid. About a year ago I bought a friends VC army, great deal, but the models lay unused and forgotten. I just checked out the new VC codex, some of our new toys are beautiful(Coven Throne / Mortis Engine)

Even though I already have over 4000 points of various VC I'm anxious to paint, base, and WYSIWYG some sweet lookin` engines of destruction.

Hope to see some mean VC lists at Ard' boys.

Slowly Rotting,
Leviticuz

G'day been playing vamps since it was still called "Undead" and we had Nagash as a special character.

they have been on the shelf for while since the Dark eldar codex i;d been waiting so long for came out.

but getting back into fantasy again

Hello all, I came here to learn more about vampire counts, and Warhammer fantasy. I've played 40k for a little over a year with my CSM, and decided that I wanted to get into fantasy the game I wanted to play originally. I haven't bought any figures, or the book for the matter of fact but am considering it and hope that I make the switch with some research here. I live in Vermont.

*sweeps into the room with a flourish* Greetins Lords and Ladies of the night. *ponders* does that make one a hooker? Uh anyway, Ive been skulking about the site for quite some time and finally decided to sign up...nearly broke my fingers answering all those questions. Haha. I'm new to WHF and 40k, tho I am a long time player of just about every rpg on the planet. and...with rift, some that aren't. I enjoy painting(who knew?) and have amassed quite the collection of models. I look forward to being a part of such a great community.

PS If you can't tell, I'm in love with Lahmian themed armies. The name:LAMIA (?????): Greek myth name of an evil spirit who abducts and devours children, meaning "large shark." The name means "vampire" in Latin and "fiend" in Arabic.

Babies are tasty...and great for the complexion. :vampire3:

Greetings - new to the forum but long time player. The last time I played vampires, however, was under the Undead Army book - so I have a lot to catch up on.

As fortune would have it, a VC army fell into my lap about a week ago as a result of a trade, so here I am getting back into the swing of things (even bought the army book and spell cards).

I also hang around the Herdstone a bit. :)

Greetings!

This is my 1st aniversarry of playing Vampires :konrad:. Thrilled that the new book came out this weekend, and I have abandoned all 40k projects to pursue this one!

I have a good feeling about this year. 40k 6th is supposed to come out, as well as an update for my beloved Chaos Space Marines. And Chaos Warriors are also rumoured to updated this year :devil2:.
