Hey all,

I'm another Vampire Count player recently risen from his WFB slumber.

I've been gaming in GW products since I was about 8, but over the years I have packed up and sold off like most of us do from time to time. Usually when you find women, beer, work, children taking over all of your free time and income.

Having been active again for a few years with 40K I've moved across to WFB again. This time I started off with some Ogre Kingdom stuff and just couldn't resist the new VC's (my second WFB army first time around in the mid 1990's).

Most of my other stuff is viewable on various other forums (Warseer, AmmoBunker, Ogrestronghold etc) where I go by the same user name.

I'm looking forward to getting my teeth into the new models, though I always have a thing for the Ladies so do expect lots of skirt :perv:

Until later.

Hi, Im the hidden one, and I've played 40k for a couple of years and was sucked into the new vamps. I've always like the undead but the new models are mostly great! This is my first fantasy army so Im a complete noob with themxD Looking forward to learning more about vamps and fantasy.

Hello all Newbies!
May I point you all towards the Tales from the Crypt section of the forum, were you can read and write your own fan-fictions (or tbh any fiction mildly warhammer related), and have them C&C'd.

Hi everyone,

Long time lurker here. Only just started playing WHFB about a year or so ago. Initially started with the Ogres but kind of got bored with their one dimensional hulk smash gameplay. So alas, I switched to vampires when the new book came out!

Hoping to learn and discuss new strategies with veteran VC players! As well as have a good time of course xD

Good evening!

I have been playing Skaven and Wood Elves for a couple of years and now me and a friend of mein have started a VC army together.

The new update for VC got us very interested and since we both study we can't afford to start a new army all on our own. So we thought that to start an army together would be great!

Well I hope I will enjoy my stay here:)

Cheers!

Hello Im festering

Started vampire counts back in 4th edition with a all blood dragon force, recently started up again.

Going to pick up where i left off with vampires not strigoi or ghouls.

Have 80 skeletons, 20 graveguard (old metal kind :D ), 10 spirit hosts, black coach, metal blood dragon vampire on foot, reaper necromancer, couple wraiths, couple banshees, 50 zombies i think, a varghulf somewhere...

Looking forward to building up 6 crypt horrors, getting some different minis for bat swarms, possibly getting some black knights, maybe just another unit of crypt ghouls.

Hopefully talk to you all on the forums and exchange tactics since recently unburied got a lot of dust to brush off.

Hello, I have a relatively small army for VC but it is growing rapidly. Pleased to find a whole forum of the undead that hasn't been destroyed by witch hunters.

Hey I'm Seiuchi, friend of Harland who referred me here and I coauthored EPIC with. I don't collect VC (Lizzies and Beastmen instead) but have come here for roleplaying, reading stories, and experiencing the general awesomeness you only find in forums

I look forward to posting a Report and getting peoples thoughts on the army i field :)

GreatCrow here.

I don't play Warhammer 40k or Fantasy Warhammer, but I'm starting to collect a Tyranid army and for Fantasy, I plan on Lizardmen, Tomb Kings, or Ogre Kingdoms. Maybe Beastmen once they get a good codex.

Anyway, that Zanos kid invited me.

Ah, yes, that Zanos kid. I think we've all had our run-in's with him at one point or another.

Anyway, you're all welcome here at Carpe Noctem, even if you do not (currently) have an interest in the best-looking army in the entire game. If you have any questions about this place, please don't hesitate to contact a member of the staff around here. I'm the best one, though. Just saying~ ;)

Heya, Matt here.
Long time warhammer player (13 years), vampires were my first army, well technically undead were, back when wights caused d3 wounds, and you had VC and Tk all in the same book. Its Probably easier to list the armies I don't have (empire, brets, dwarfs), up to about 6k of vamps now, which makes it annoying that you can't really get them to work well in huge games. Still loving the new book though, it kicks arse.

Horny is from the horned reaper from the most excellent dungeon keeper pc games, its a very old online name from a very old gamer! The whole name comes from an obsession with imps and gargoyles! And my missus would probably say horny fits me quite well! ;)

Lol, and if you like my online name, you should see my email! I come from the generation who tried our hardest to get rude words in our email accounts, so I'm workshyfreeloadingbastard, which again fits somewhat, as if I had the choice I wouldn't work!

i'm new to this site. i been playing vampires for about 6 years and i just finished reading the new book. i have to say i really dont know how i feel about it right now. i have not played a battle with it yet. there are some things i like and some i dont. i guess i will see how i really feel once i play them. how do you'll feel about the new vamps?

Greetings,

It is with great joy that I find myself here at Carpe Noctem, prodded on by a fellow painter/gamer who insisted I visit. It has been far too long since my VC have seen the field of battle, especially with the release of 8th ed. and the complete overhaul I would have had to do to make my army competitive again. However, I digress...

I am Brahm Tazoul, formerly of Red Claw Gaming in Edmonton, Alberta, and editor in chief of the "Letters of the Damned", a dormant Mordheim ezine. I have been away from gaming for far too long, however now ache to get back into the thick of it thanks in no small part to the new book. I have been playing Warhammer for far too many years, and enjoy modeling and painting equally so. My comrade in arms, Black Bard, is the one who pushed me to visit this site, knowing that I would be on the road and bored out of my mind in a hotel room in northern Alberta. "You HAVE to check this site out," he said "especially if you're getting pumped about the VC again!". And so I did, and so here I am.

I plan on being around for a while, and hope to garner great insights into others army lists, suggestions, and painting schemes/ideas.

While I do have a complete VC army which sits at well over 2500 points when all upon the field (ahhh, back in the good ol' days when you could finish a battle with more models on the table than you started with. Oh 7th, how I miss thee!) I am driven to buy and build NEW units to field. My old skeleton-driven warmachine is a relic of the past now that the Strigoi are back as a playable race! My NEW host shall shamble from the darkness, feeding off of rotting flesh to the ever-insensate moans of the zombie hoard. Hoots and grunts shall be the only warning of my ghoulish swarm erupting from the night, spearheaded by the Crypt Horrors, Vargeists and a Vargulf or two... ahhhh, it shall be glorious!

So, I shall ever be lurking in the shadows, gleaning what I may from your discussions, biding my time until all is ripe for my ascension...

Fare thee well!

Hi

I'm MajorLandmark and I'm a geology student at Southampton (UK). I've been planning a VC army for maybe a year now. I had a sneaking suspicion they were probably due a new army book so I hung on for that... and now it's here. I've been playing fantasy for a few years now, with High Elves and I've been playing 40k before that for over a decade.

I'm mostly looking forward to being able to field a hoard army as HE have no such possibility. Although hundreds of zombies sound like a laugh, I'm not sure I'm looking forward to painting them quite as much as I probably should try to.

Aside from the hobby, I'm also a keen airsofter. I've also been making a foray into making prop armor from games/films.
