Total: 1999 Points

Both vampires with default Spell, both necro's with lore of vampires with 1 spell to the Signature default.

The Vampires will be at a +5 to cast
Necros will be at a +8 To cast

One vamp is geared up for being able to avoid being hit with your Battle Standard.
The other is built to be able to rip heavy armored things apart.
With the ASF bubbles and vigor mortis you should wound enough with sheer attacks and have a 5+ round regen.
In addition to that the army has a a fortitude of 8.

Each turn at max over the 5 units depending on your deployment you can raise a max of: 290 Zombies across all units.
The point it no one will be able to kill what you can bring to the table.

My homebrew is
1/3 Badab Black
1/3 Devlan Mud
1/6 Gryphon Sepia
1/6 Brown Ink (Yes you heard me Ink, I have atleast 3 pots of each ink stored away in my paints)

And now for the pictures. This evening I painted a few more Skellies and one of my two vlads (I have a really old one as well)

Skellies (I have 25 done now but they all look the same even though they are three different eras of skellie ranges  )

So I just got my paycheck and I broke it down after bills.
$65 for this months gas
$100 for odds and ends
and this leaves me with about $100 for warhammer:thumbsup:

So any votes on next purchase?
Here is the list of models in the collection as of now

6 Vampires
4 Wight Kings
2 Wraiths
3 Banshees
6 Necromancers
80 Zombies
60 Skellies
50 Ghouls
20 Black Knights
Varghulf
2 Spirit hosts with a third in creation
7 Batswarms

So votes on what should be next? Does not have to be from the GW dub range

So it is snowing which really just plain sucks. No priming and since nothing is primed I got nothing to paint. But 80 zombies and the rest of my skellies are sitting next to a can of white spray waiting for a break in the snow. Also I got something very big coming in the mail. And does anyone wanna burn some time reading some fluff?

Snowing? In California? It was 25+ Celsius while I was in Vegas this past week...what the hell did you do to the thermostat, Crass?

At least I'm satisfied to know that snow doesn't just prevent ME from priming!

What fluff? I'm back on the road and I've literally got NOTHING to do during the evenings other than read this forum & assemble my Crypt Horrors (first box of 3 is with me!)

Brahm

The first part of the fluff for my Ghoul King

Elmer Guldmantle was the most beautiful man in all of Nordland, and some of his lovers would argue all of the empire. That is if they were still alive. You see Elmers tale begins before Karl Franz was even learning to crawl.

Elmer used his good looks and charm to get him everywhere in the world, and he could get almost anything. From bedding a counts daughter to bedding a generals wife he had done it all. But one thing always bothered him and that was his lack of martial skill and physical strength.

One day Elmer Guldmantle met a pale woman who’s beauty rivaled his own and she made him a bargain. If he stayed with her for a night she would make him the strongest and most skilled man in all the land. He accepted without a second thought and when he awoke the next morning he did not notice the two tiny pricks on his neck. Without checking a mirror he rushed into the street, ready to prove his newfound strength. Seeing the Captain of the Guards wife he rushed forward, kissing her deeply and looking up into the captains face smirking. But it was not the captain who struck him but his wife, calling Elmer a hideous monster.

Shocked and dismayed Elmer fled back to his home and finding a mirror he stared into it. The face that looked back at him was not that of a man, his once fine features had been elongated and distorted, his golden hair was patchy black and greasy, and his smooth hands were now bent and clawed. Screaming in pain and rage Elmer tracked down the pale woman, who stood in her doorway and laughed. She kept laughing even as he tore her to shreds.

You might want to try magnetizing your banshee too. I have done this to my whole VC army and love the fact that I can play a game without knocking over a single miniature! Just a thought, I love the conversion work.

Vlads looking very good, the armour is very nicely done. As for a new purchase, what about a mortis engine or black coach?

Just painted my first 30 zombies (Pictures coming soon), I used mostly washes (it is kind of my thing) and I must say they took forever but I am VERY proud of themxD

Johnny,

looking good.

If you cant undercoat any more figs.. maybe do the bases??

The speed with which you are carving thru this force is inspirational!

-D

looking forward to seeing these zombies!! What washes did you use? Was the length of time in the models due to waiting (literally) for paint to dry?

cheers, Bard

Painted another batch of twenty. with drying time it is a hour for every 10 models which for me is pretty good (This includes distractions from the lady, food, dealing with my dog ect)

I am about 65% done with my goal for this mmonth (finish all my core blocks). i still need to find a good basing idea so if anyone has one let me know!

Now I am going post a stage by stage of how I do all my painting with washes models (Ghouls, Skellies and Zombs). But I use two washes for zombies and I love the effect

For skin it is Gryphone Sypia and then the rest of the model is painted, which after I follow up with a black wash over the entire model. Then I pick out eyes and such

Johnny the work you have done is beautiful. I love the red necromancer. Vlad looks great too. IMO I would give the banshee a highlight of a lighter color, either rotted flesh or skull white. She just seems too dark, too green. Again, that is just my opinion, though.

I would love to see you do a bigger model, like the coven throne or the black coach. :perv:

I don't know why, but I'm always drawn to the eyes. I really like the yellowy-orange that you made them. Looks cool...and weird... all at the same time.

How many more to go? 160 or so?

Brahm

I have about 40 to go as my lists are very light on zombies for the most part.

Tragedy struck yesterday when the movers knocked over my game table. Table is ruined and many of my metal models including necromancer and ghoulking are badly chipped:(

I am moving to a place that will have two massive rooms devoted to gaming :perv:

And you should of seen the poor mans face, I mean I was kind of upset as that table costs quite a bit of money but he did not do it on a purpose so no big deal.

But a broken table means you get to see Johnny at his best! Making terrian:D

And now a moment to look back on my poor table :grave:
