I know right. Basically Storm of Magic was a tester for the End Times it seems.4d6 power dice and ALL wizards get loremaster? What the fucking fuck?
But he does have to lose otherwise the whole world would be undead...
Every wizard being Loremaster is interesting. I don't think this will actually result in much change, since the ratio of power to dispell dice should remain similar, so a similar number of spells should be getting off. It makes magic more consistent, which can only be a good thing, but at the same time it means a roll from the end of the bell curve can result in a truly devastating magic phase. Since our army relies so much on magic, this can only be a good thing for us. More dice means a move average distribution, and loremaster means we have access to any and all spells we need. Multiple VHDM's per turn? Yes please! We're much less likely to get screwed by a bad magic phase with these changes.
Frankly, I think this will result in more lower level wizards. Paying an extra 135 points for +3 to cast seems a bit too expensive for me, especially when you don't need extra spell slots to try and get the spell you want.
I rather suspect that Nagash will be elevated, perhaps against his will, into the role of the god of undeath.
+3 to cast is the same as rolling average on another die, when your casting up to 4 spells with it that is roughly equal to adding 4 dice to your dice pool.
on that note. Even with lore master the low level wizards get less casts per turn. Which is fine if you have a silly number of wizards to make up for it.
How do you figure? There's no limit on the number of spells a wizard can cast. A level one Loremaster can still cast seven spells a turn if he has enough dice.
Has anyone confirmed if this will be a game-wide change like the Lord and Hero allowances, or is it restricted to End Times games only? And what's the definition of an End Times game?
