The 3 options all have different heads and tails!

The third and final one is....

Trygon 'Prime' !!! Very similar looking parts to the Trygon but with bigger jaw bits and, what can only be described as, a rattlesnakesk tail rattle!!!

The one I am liking the look of is the Mawloc head variant atm. Having a closer look I reckon a skilled person would be able to make the parts interchangable... The only difficult part would be the lower part of the head, which is used for all three variants. Arms, tails and chest plates look very magnet-able.

Trygon Prime?
Is that a separate choice or just some cool biomorph options?
Anyway, I doubt that I'll get multiple Trygons just for the optional builds. I think I'll get one for the regular Trygon and the Trollforged model for the Mawloc, because that thing is like 1/3 mouth, which is awesome.
Okay, maybe I'll get 2.
Maybe.

Make it 3 Trygons. You know you want to. I want to hear of the looks on your opponents faces (Like the looks ill get when I eventually field 9 leman russes MWUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!)

Through sheer lucky timing I find myself sat at home, looking at my new Trygon/Mawloc plastic kit!

There are 3 variants that you can build...

Trygon...

Mawloc...

&...

...who wants to know the 3rd one?

Wait - are these models out now then?

New info for nids. They are now the undisputed CC army. Standard hive tyrants have fething WS 8, and theres a special tyrant with 9. Trygons bring out 6 friggin wounds, and you can make a tyrannofex, which is supposed to be a sort of gun platform of death.

I still think that Daemons will kick the snot out of them in a one-on-one brawl, pretty much due to the invulnerable saves. Tyranids should definately become souped up in the CC department though, no doubt about it.

Yep, you might as well. Price isn't too bad, but the Gargoyles...£17.50 for 10? Ouch.

I like the new Gargoyles. The new models look cool and, while expensive, these new models are half as expensive as the old metals ones, and much more easy to transport as well, I'm willing to wager.

Were the old ones in blister packs?

From what I read in the WD it seems that they have intended for that to happen. Now the wings are more like bat wings.

Moah nooz from da roomah mill:

Tyranid Weapons are no longer dependent on the statline of the carrier, they all have set statlines. Argh.
Each weapon is divided into light and heavy versions (don't worry, they're still all Assault weapons) for use by smaller or larger Tyranids. Gone are the Strength 8 Barbed Stranglers and Strength 10 Venom Cannons (although Venom Cannons do get a small blast...). Ah well, my Barbed Strangler Carnifexi are still just as effective against most of my opponents and they actually gained a point of Armor Piercing!
There are a host of new weapons such as the Sting Blaster, Spike Blaster and Texorin Bug (which functions much like a Blastmaster with multiple fire modes, all template ranged). All of these weapons seem like they focus on short-medium range, high strength (mostly 5s and 6s) and low AP.

The new Biomorphs are much different than the older ones. Each one gives a Special Rule of some sort to the bearer rather than an increase in stats.
For example, Toxin Sacs now give 4+ Poisoned Attacks, Adrenal Glands grant Furious Charge, and Wings make the unit Jump Infantry.

Really? I seem to remember them being a lot more expensive, but they have just been taken off of the GW website so I can't look.
Even though, you could get 6 Gargoyles for the price of 10 now, so the price is still a bargain when comparing it to the older ones. The models do look brilliant, too.

So, do we think the new nid codex (from rumours), sounds like a good change(i.e the last DE book), a bad change (last O&G book), or round about the same (insert own example here).

Personally, I think that the new book is a bad change.
The army list is being made less fluffy, personally. Fluffy would be a balanced list, with a lot of Gaunts, a couple Carnifexi and a scattering of Warriors and other beasties. This list seems to be propagating 'Nidzilla' lists (Tervigons (a Monstrous Creature) can be taken as troops!? Carnifexi can be taken in squads!?) and warrior-spamming while Gaunts seems to have taken the back seat.
In a addition, a lot of the new rumored monsters seem utterly useless to me. Harpies are fast, but big and fragile and not very powerful. Tyrannofexes have a lot of guns, but they are trying to hard to multi-task in an army that vehemently opposes multi-taskers. Pyrovores may have a cool gun, but its not that powerful and they'd get torn apart in the ensuing close combat anyway.

Overall it seems like a failure, but I really have to see the book to make a final assessment.
