I'm sure that they're still there (the Tervigon is even rumored to 'spawn' gaunts mid-game), but Gaunts have taken some pretty big hits with the new rules. With Tyranids no longer having Fleet and Move Through Cover as standard, Gaunts are significantly slower and less covered than they were, and the more durable Warrior squads seem like a much better choice.

Even though, you could get 6 Gargoyles for the price of 10 now, so the price is still a bargain when comparing it to the older ones

One thing which I am looking forward to is the background on the three Hive Fleets: Gorgon, Naga and Jormungandr.

Raveners have four different chest plates in the kit, which allow the following upgrades: Spinefish, Deathspitters and Devourers.

I'm unsure on the fourth one, as I'm not a Tyranid player. I'm very tempted to buy some for myself.

Venomthrope provides a 5+ cover save and defensive grenades according to WD.

In a addition, a lot of the new rumored monsters seem utterly useless to me.

There are "legendary creatures" within the army list. Included are the Deathleaper and Yymgarl Genestealers. Other than that I don't know what else could be there.

Bivores are the one monster that have never looked good, in any of their (3 now?) incarnations.

Really, they're bringing in new Hive Fleets? That would make the total, what now, eight?

Sucks out souls? It doesn't seem very Tyranidy. I'm curious as to what the Doom of Malan'tai and the Parasite of Mortrex are.
