"Please excuse my ignorance good sir" said Lucien to Sigmund "I have had no dealings with these things or their strange powers. You seem extremely knowledgeable about their kind, I will look to you in the future."

To all "Is it not a little early in the day to be throwing accusations around? Maybe if we found out a little about one another before things get out of hand?"

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Mihael rapidly resorted his chocolate pile as they were knocked slightly out of place, hands almost a blur. Glancing slightly irritably at Karl, he turned to Antonio.

"How you get your scars is not the point, its the reason you got them that gives them their message. And stop with the tapping" he added, waving his hand flippantly, "It's irritating"

Gregor turned to the two who had expressed distaste with his statement.
"I do not know the size of the vampiric forces we are facing. Therefore using the plural is the grammatically correct way to talk about our foe."
"As for stabbing people randomly, that would be the worst thing to do: given the likely situation that the vampires are less numerous than us, we would be most likely to kill an innocent. The correct thing to do is to systematically allow ourselves the notion that we can in some way identify and kill the vampires and act on this notion by analysing each and every guest's actions. This way the probabilities, though still uncertain, are more likely to favour the innocent."
"I understand that the idea of elimination is an uncomfortable one, but unless the host has a method of detecting vampires, which I assume she does not, we have one recourse and one recourse only. The only thing I find disturbing is not knowing how many vampires we are faced with, for without that knowledge we do not know when to stop..."

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

"Well, yes" said Flynn "The fact that stabbing people randomly would a bad idea was precisely...nevermind" Flynn sighed.

"I can't say I agree with our host's idea of boxing us in with these vampire or vampires. I mean, who's to say that if we didn't seal everyone in here our unwanted guest or guests would run off. It could become somebody else's problem. I mean, the one we saw just now can't still be hungry. Right?"

Flynn shook his head. "I have to say, our host really dropped the ball on this one".

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Does anyone know enough about vampires to 'prove their innocence'? Obadiah directed at Antonio, his blade vanishing again in his dark tunic. To the main group: We should combine our knowledge; we need to work together on this, and certainly not start randomly killing.

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Serethia had taken a seat on a chair, staring at the different guests inside her new 'prison'.

"They are monsters, they drink blood and that is all I know."

A deep sigh escaped the woman's lips before adding a bit more.

"My gold for a witch hunter, at least they know more about them."

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Karl half snarled out a response to the room
"I have hunted my share of monsters in the past. Never a vampire but a monster is a monster...."

Tugging his blade out of the table he began stabbing food and popping it into his mouth.

Markus stood quietly to the side watching the other guests with careful speculation, he had removed his owl mask once the victim had been brought forth.

Suddenly his face changed from a nervous frown to a cheerful smile and Kate strode forwards into the middle of the guests.

"My friends!" She declared loudly. "You are all worrying too much. Clearly whoever the vampire is, they are a master of stealth. You will not find them easily. There are few clear indicators of vampires, most markers are likely only old wives tales or could readily apply to anyone. So why don't we all relax and carry on with the party. Eventually the vampire will strike agai9n and we may catch him or her in the act."

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Turning to Sigmund Lyssandra stated bluntly, "It is unlikely the silver hammer would work anyway. Were it such a simple matter of identifying a vampire as tapping them with a sigil people would do it standard at any usual social gathering. This kind of party activity certainly doesn't take place..." there was a short pause where she furrowed her eyebrows before she continued quizzically, "Does it?"

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

"No, Lyssandra, they certainly do not. At parties people usually eat, drink, dance and forni-." Kate said cheerfully and enthusiastically[/b] but then stopped mid word, her shoulders slumping and her eyes suddenly darting around nervously.
"Sorry." Markus apologised profusely. "She can be a bit coarse at times, I do humbly apologise. Now while a silver hammer would not, in fact work due to magical fluctuations on a primeval level and contemporal anonymities, I have instead actually devised my own device for detecting vampires which could possibly be of some use, perhaps." He trailed off quietly. He drew forth what looked like a small compass and the needle started spinning wildly.
"Oh dear, that can't be right." He mumbled.

Ulfr gazed around at the others a jug of ale in his hand before speaking

I'm a mercenary I'm not paid to think, I'm paid to kill stuff.
Let me know when you find it then we can kill it.....or die"

Taking a large gulp from his ale
"I like free alcohol" he replied casually

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Mihael glanced up, barely half interested at such a simple question.

"I get bored easily. I read 57 books on them er.... 2 years ago, merely passing interest I must confess." he shrugged nonchalantly before return his attention to the chocolate.

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Obadiah stared quizzically at Kate/Markus. You want us to continue the party as if nothing was happening and wait for the next person to die? He added sarcastically: Maybe we should draw lots on the unfortunate person you want to throw to the vampire?

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Kate regained control and grinned charmingly.
"That sounds like an excellent game, you know, you have an lucky look about you, I reckon you won't draw the short straw you know."
She said stepping closer towards Obadiah. Her blue eyes staring intently at him.
"No Kate!" Markus said sharply, their confident demeanour disappearing again.
"That's a terrible idea, we don't want anyone else to get hurt. I am sorry sir, she just gets a bit distant from the real world. She doesn't mean it, not really."

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

"Bit distant, huh?"

Serethia allowed her gaze to travel to Kate, she does not even attempt to hide her suspicious look as she bluntly eye's up the other woman.

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Mihael snorted, almost coughing up his chocolate.

"Sure, 'I'm distant' obviously means 'I'm a vampire'. That has to be the least conclusive evidence to ever be concluded in my life." he chuckled smugly.

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

“The tapping is soothing to me, boy. Thus, I shall continue.” He then stopped talking, still pacing casually, listening to the others intently, eyes closed partially. Upon hearing Ms Nightheir speak of Witch Hunters, he stopped pacing and opened his eyes, right eyebrow raised.

“A Witch Hunter may be what we need, but I’d wager we would all be in risk if one was to be here; they don’t have a very accepting nature, and care little for innocents in their fights from what I understand!” Antonio remarked to Serethia tartly, before turning to look at Karl with a look of distaste clear on his face. “I would disagree. It is known they are smart, greedy, and completely evil. In this case, a monster is not a monster ... At least, not merely one!”

The noble then returned to his pacing, swiping a glass of Estalian red from the table as he went, swilling it gently as he continued to listen and tap.

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Sigmund raised an eyebrow at Lyssandra.

"I do not think I mentioned tapping anyone on the head with a silver hammer." he said sounding confused "I only asked about silver and holy icons because the first is known to cause severe reactions with vampires whilst the second has been known to repel them completely."

The knight shrugged and turned away from the woman to face Antonio.

"I agree with your Lordship, Sigmar's psychopaths rarely worry about collateral damage. Also you are correct, it is wrong to think of a vampire as a mere monster. They are unholy abominations of great strength, speed, cunning and arcane ability."

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

If silver is known to cause severe reactions, then surely a course of action is obvious. Obadiah turned from Kate/Markus to face Sigmund.

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Sigmund nodded "It's why witch hunters carry silver bullets. It would have to be pure, not just silver plated steel or the like."

The knight looked at the hostess "Do you have such an item?"

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Karl mumbled more to himself than anything "Ye aint getting my silver for nothin"

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

"Why are we fretting?" Lucien cried jovially whilst striding over to the strange leather clad youth "We are saved! This fine young fellow here has the 57 tomes of vampiric knowledge stored within his clever little head. 57! I'm quite sure there is and never will be, a greater expert of these monsters in all of the lands. Surely he can just tell us who it is and we can all go home. We are saved!"

Pouring out two goblets of wine and offering one to the Mihael, Lucien looks on expectantly "Come on then friend, who is it?!"

RE: VAU IC: The Fangtastical and Arousing Tale of Anita Jacqueofff

Victor chuckled at Lucian's remark.

I assume you are being sarcastic, aren't you? he said. Do you believe that there's such a big number of people alive after an encounter with such creatures, that all those 57 tomes of knowledge could be really true? he pointed.

He stepped aside and concluded
I'm afraid that what our young fellow Mihael has studied is more folklore than real facts... if there are books with real knowledge about vampires, they are kept safe in the Emperor's deepest vaults of Altdorf!
