And this one because the base turned out pretty cool

These took me way too long, so I'm gonna take a little speed painting course at my local store before I start doing my zombies and skeletons :vampire3:

Love your backdrop idea it is awesome

Add warg's to dire wolf list of things to get. you made them look way way too good

Thanks santa!

I'm not sure whether you mean wargs from the LOTR range, but these are chaos Warhounds (I'm still thinking about maybe adding GS tails btw)

RE: Primewill's painting log (first army!)

Ok I've been quiet for a couple of weeks, but have been working on two sets. So I felt like I had to share something once more, even though I haven't really finished anything yet.

So here are my skellies, I'm allmost done with them.

I switched my Necromancer's head for a hairy flagellant guy's, giving him a bit more of a mad wizard feel. I took a little speedpainting course at my local GW store today, and the zombies are about halfway done - standing in the back here. I'm going to have to finish these guys over the weekend, because this Wednesday I'll be doing my first official battle! I signed up for the local Escalation League ^^ Starting with little 300 pts warband battles.

So what do you guys think? my first attempt at speed painting.

I started with a sprayed chaos black undercoat, painted all the models bleached bone, added some nurgling green for the rotting flesh effects, alternated dryad bark, hormagaunt purple and mechrite red for the clothing, did the metal with chainmail, washed all the models with devlan mud, did a fast drybrush highlight with Underhive Ash, and added some details on the guts and skin with lich purple and painted the eyes ceramite white. oh and the blood lot's of blood red :)

RE: Primewill's painting log (first army!)

First I need to say... I demand a full picture of the lady on the table. Her spread thighs are a bit distracting. I find myself scrolling through the pictures looking for more of her. :perv:

Love the greenstuff work on the torsos coming out of the ground. I am sorry to admit I cheat and use real torsos.

The zombies are excellent for being the first time speed painting! Err, that didn't quite come out right. Think the spread thighs are still affecting my thoughts. I meant to say they look amazing. xD

*grinning* a little present for Santa:

I use old magazines as a surface for modelling on.

And thanks for the reply! I was under the impression that I'm cheating, since I got a unit of 30 out of a box of 20 units!

RE: Primewill's painting log (first army!)

Ok, here we go, big update:

I've finished my skeleton warriors

BSB with Screaming Banner

EDIT: Ooh I spot a kernel of fried rice... delicious!

And with that, I've finished a small force of 300 points, that will soon feast on dark-elven blood! to be exact, 2 pm tomorrow!

here's my humble flock of dead things:
ai.imgur.com_jBNz3.webp

the choice remains, use the vampire or the necromancer... I can't use both, it's too expensive.

And finally... I decided to do a full shot of all the VC stuff I have.

So what I have from left to right: top row - 3 spirit hosts, 5 Blood Knights (converted from High elf dragon princes of calador - inspired by a thread I saw on here, I can't remember who)
Middle row - 10 skellies, 30 zombies, 10 grave Guard
Front row, 5 direwolves, Necromancer, Vampire, Strigoi, 5 direwolves.

I added some little things like skulls etc. but nothing too major, I think they look pretty vampire already.

So I'll finish the stuff I haven't yet after this, so my question is... What to get next? more core I guess? (bleh! I want't exiting units!) Ghouls? any tips?

Can we use the word vampire now the same way they use wizard in Juno?

vampire... that's vampire man...

RE: Primewill's painting log (first army!)

maybe next month when I have a 500 points force finished up. I don't think 300 points would count as an army right? If you urge me to, I'll make some more pics later this week. :P

btw, it took me about 5 times to understand what you wrote... maybe it's late...

RE: Primewill's painting log (first army!)

Don't worry it's not you, it took me a few times aswell. It's more the, um, lack of punctuation

RE: Primewill's painting log (first army!)

Not sure if this is allowed in a plog, but here you go: a little battle shot!

(the giant is unrelated, an ogre kingdoms player was next to us :P)

Anyway I won my first official game ever, so I'm really happy. Invocation of Nehek is awesome :D especially with Dark acolyte!

RE: Primewill's painting log (first army!)

should I post it in Legacy of Blood?

I haven't really recorded anything so it won't be accurate, but yeah I won 2 out of 3 matches. Had a lot of fun!

I lost the first match because my IoN became unstable and my vampire exploded...

IN. THE. VERY. FIRST. TURN.

but the rest went great!
