Lagging a bit on the painting department, I've tried to make the swords 2 times now and failed miserably when trying to add any glowing runes to them so I've had to strip the paint from the blades and start all over again.

I'll get them done this weekend, it's a promise! (with or without the runes :mad2: )

If you want to freehand runes or other symbols, it is best in my experince to mix color with water(about 60:40) and apply in very thin layers

After switching between 4 alternatives and doing stuff here and there, I ended up painting and building the rider for my Zombie Dragon. The model I used is the Zacharias Everliving, which I got in the same bargain with the High Elf Dragon.

The sword hand is from some unlucky Tomb King BSB model and the book hand came in the High Elf Dragon kit.

It looks like my army will have a distinct Necrarch feel in it, now that I've painted my first two vampires. I will try to finish up some units next.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

I have progressed a little with my Grave Guard. I added the icicles to the banner and have mostly finished the unit. Now only bases, the cloths and the blades need some finalizing touches.

I wanted to post some WIP stuff, as the experiment I did with the icicles turned out rather okay.

Here's where I'm with them at the moment:

Sorry if it's already been asked, Raizi, but where did you get the cloak Zach is wearing on your dragon? Did you sculpt it or is a bit from some kit?

@Adam_Barrow, the cloak came with Zacharias. I try to include in the description any parts that I've used that are not 'vanilla' with the kit in question.

Lots of snow themes but hardly any that portray extreme cold like this. Love the icicles on the banner and the colors work really well together.

Decided to put my Grave Guard on a slight hold as I was getting frustrated with their blades (still can't do the runes... :swear: ) and started working on some unit fillers.

Here's where I'm now. I plan on making another one of the 'burning pillars' for my Grave Guard and some more orc-flesh-eating-gore for my Ghouls.

I will also practice some OSL with the flaming pillar, but comments are always welcome. (these are very very WIP)

The pillar looks nice. Good idea with the tomb king's shields for Grave guard

It's a piece from the Screaming Skull Catapult's frame. It has 2 of those so I just cut the 'wood' part away from it and added a burning hexwraith head on top of it. I'm trying to make the best out of the bits I have and get as much mileage from the thin remains of any non VC or Skaven armies that I've got.

Hehe glad to see more unit filler's are they for my challenge.

Love the orc for the ghouls, it is awesome. Nice green stuff too.

The pillar is awesome and a little eery nice conversion.
