@Dogmar: Indeed, the etching on his armor I intended from the beginning to do in gold. I did just that after my last post last night!

I was unhappy with th red tone his armor had, it looked unfinished to me. So I went back over the recesses and gave it a leviathan purple wash. I am much happier with the results.

Made a little progress tonight, not going to get much more done since SG:U is on tonight.

Vampire has had is tabard painted Necron Abyss, the shield painted black and his sword was washed with Thraka Green.

Painted the first stage of the skin on the Vampiress with the familiar.

Painted some ore this morning and last night. I managed to get 2 more layers done on the skin of the Vampiress with familiar.

Still trying to decide for her robe. Should I go with Orange, dark blue or the Yellow I have been doing?

I vote orange.If you don't like it just go over it w/ pools of yellow highlight.I'd wash the orange with a red,it would contrast alot with her cold skin tones.I think the blue would mute it.I imagine the shield on her shoulder will be yellow as well.It would clash w/blue.You could tie in the shield by making her other accents(like the familiar)yellow.

Loving the vampiress so far. the skin tone is looking nicer than the ones reaper have painted up. I'd be tempted to go for white robes with a gold edge.

I wound up going with a Dark Red for her robes. Her skin is so light in color that it didn't make sense to give her a light colored robe. I will post pictures tonight. I had a really productive weekend, got the Vampiress and the Vampire Lord done along with some work on my Blood Knight horses and the base color mostly finished on a horde of skeletons.

As promised, pictures of the now nearly completed Vampiress, the completed Vampire Lord, the revamped shield on the sexy vamp chick and starting progress on Skeletons!

Skeletons to begin with, I'm am not 100% happy with the way these guys turned out, I wound up dry-brushing them. Normally I try to steer clear of dry-brushing because I think it makes things look chalky. I might go over these guys one last time with a thinned down black wash or something to smooth out the colors.

I'm back!

After a very long time (approximately 25 months!) spent being immensely bitter about the changes in 8th edition, and the horrible, dark things those changes did to the VC prior to the coming of the 8th edition army book, and my recent involvement with running a Fantasy tournament at a large convention; I decided to make something of the pile of half painted bones and flesh taking up a couple of shelves in my closet.

I decided to revive this PLog!

I present, the first nearly completed unit in the army since the release of 8th edition!

A closer look at a single horse. I do not care for the skeletal horses GW produces, even the new ones out of the black knight kit are ugly looking to me. Additionally, keeping with the Bretonnian theme (and figuring since I had an assload of them) I went with the classical Bretonnian horse painted to look like an ethereal mount covered in ragged barding.

And currently, the riders are being painted!

I convinced myself to mostly finish building my zombies (roughly 100 currently), I finished construction on a unit of Skeletons 50 strong (including the addition of Men at arms helmets on many of them), and built a Terrorgheist and Crypt Horrors. I will post pictures of these units soon!

Haha, actually my painting sessions are usually fueled by Homebrewed beer. I just happen to have taken that photo after a day of painting at my local store, where lots of people tend to leave their empty cans around.

Got a ton of new updates today! I had a very productive morning before the Superbowl, and was able to get base coats on a huge number of models.

But before that, I finished the Black Knights!

I added a glow effect to their eyes, and put the last of the symbols on their shields. I had to do them by hand, so I'm not 100% happy with the outcome. Some of the Fleur Dy'Lyse didnt come out as good as I wanted. But I will be ok with it, since the Transfers I was trying to use were apparently so old they would literally disintegrate as soon as I tried to pull them off the paper!

I added the 1st layer of the Yellow to the Skeletal Horde, 50 Skellies strong.

I think this unit is going to turn out great once its done, though I dread how long it's going to take me. I added Brettonian Men at Arms Helmets and shields to continue the Mousillion theme.

I also added the 1st layer of the Yellow to one of my units of Zombies.

And here is the remaining horde, yet to be primed!

I started the Crypt Horrors as well. I added some Helmets and shields from the Men At Arms box to add a little humor, and also keep up the theme.

Here are the last of the Ghouls, along with their Ghast.

And finally, my Spirit Hosts. These are going to be painted in the same fashion as the horses from the Black Knights.

I finished off the Spirit Hosts and the Crypt Horrors this weekend.

This photo isn't when they were 100% completed. But its close to the end. I think they are just missing some final work on the shield and some water effects/static grass.

Care to detail how the Horrors go from that fleshy base to that delightful green hue? What's the recipe there? I like it a lot.
