Those blends are done by hand. I've since realized that it is much easier for me to use "by hand" techniques to complete the figures. I can/have used an airbrush for vehicles, but I lack the acute ability to replicate the results for figures. I'm using Jo Sonja artist acrylics which have a bit longer of a drying time; this really helps create smooth blends.

I really like the final gritty look of the mini, the gas mask in particular is veeery pretty.

I finished up a commission for SwissDictator today.

Not really my usual style as I tend to be a little bit neater, but I was really trying to knock the Nurgle look out of the park. Now to finish a tank before the month's end and get back to work on my GB entry!

I changed the pants because I didn't want them to be too "busy". I was going for a stark environment and I changed my mind at the last moment.

I've changed gears a bit now...

I'm painting a tank quick as a breather between figures. It'll be a great run to break into my airbrush a bit!

Any C&C is greatly appreciated on this little journey.

Those nurgles are freakin brilliant! I feel like sliming my way over a few of my own nurgle models now.

And the tank looks great... as for hugging mom, the ghouls did hug their mother today. :lol:

Actually the barrel is milled just for this JT. It's even got rifling!

Made some more progress tonight. I had my first go at some basecoats and color modulation.

Color modulation complete; just need to add weathering and details and finish off with a clear coat of clear yellow followed by chipping and mud effects.

Thanks! Airbrushing is a different beast for me. It's different and feels foreign to the comfort I feel with a brush.

The details and additional modulation bits will come tonight. I'm using washes, filters and weathering pigments by AK. Their DVD is sensational as is the FAQ by Mig. I'm still trying to figure out how to send that big file to you, by the way.

The tracks are being painted separately and will be attached after I get mud and grime effects under the undercarriage. I've put them on right away before and it was a pain in the butt. Yes, there is a method to my madness .

Anyways,

Finished modulation, added some filters and did some chipping effects. I'll be doing detail work, pin-washes, rust/grime effects next.

I'm hoping to have this done by the end of the weekend!
