It's the fact the materials to make them each cost about 50 cents that makes me want to set something on fire.
I'm told that with plastics it costs a lot more to make the molds, etc. So although the materials are cheaper, they have a much higher initial investment that they need to recoup. It's why smaller companies stick to white metal: they can't afford to produce plastic models.
And in this case, I can't afford to buy them.
It seems like GW is dispensing with the idea that if you can sell enough plastic models to justify the expensive infrastructure, you can sell them for cheap compared to metal.
Yea, I've heard this reasoning thrown around everywhere, my family works in Tool and Die. It simply isn't true GW that is recouping thier losses -.- thats just a line they fed you when they raised the prices. And you know what, they are never going to lower them again.
You want to know how long it would take to recoup the losses for the cost of their molds? a week. 1 damn week.
GW is doing fine and when they swapped to shitcast and made all new molds they were well prepared to take a hit and risk and they wouldn't have done that if they weren't well in the green monetarily. Because as a company you simply do not take a risk like that unless you can survive it just fine. Them "Recouping" whata joke.
