So if you have 2 corpse carts next to a unit of GG (within 6”) and you cast invocation and the bubble includes them within its range, wil the GG lose ASL as it cancels with first cart and then gain ASF with the second??

In other words does ASF stack? I've wondered that forever and never meant anyone who can give me a conclusive answer. I've done it before with GG and miasma of deathly vigour.

No, this came up in a game of mine against OK and the BRB says the ASF buff is not cumulative unless the CC says they strike first or something and not gives them the "ASF special rule" as per the rulebook. This means that they will just strike at Initiative speed.

With zombies, apparently, it's different though, as their special rule that gives them ASL states that it may be overridden by ASF to actually give them ASF (at least according to what people have said).

EDIT: spelling xD

So I guess as far as fluff goes vargheists aren't strigoi. They're of every bloodline(including von carsteins) that's lost to the von carsteins in a war and was locked in a coffin for years til their inner beast and warp stone water turns them to Vargheists.

EDIT:I can picture lahmians and necrarchs doing that too, but strigoi aren't smart enough blood dragons aren't evil enough.

Oh right, I did mean just the LR making back its own cost for the mould but indeed I didn't think about having every single model they sell make back some money for the mould cost for new finecast products, so thanks for the reminder =D

Sorry, GW just steams me up big time, not just them.

Just so you know, Steadfast will only be canceled out if you have more ranks regardless of it being a flank attack.
Stupid I know.

So whats the rules on the sword, if by the last turn if he has not killed anyone he dies?... Not mid battle?
Also does his stead count?

You throw Zombies in the Flank to negate Steadfast to benefit another one of your own units fighting the same enemy in the front. Zombies in the Flank take less hits, no supporting attack and if the enemy has few ranks, even less attacks. Basic Tactic my friend applicable to most armies. :)

Can't remember where I read it but it does read that unless you have more ranks you can not disrupt a steadfast unit.
I know its daft and I thought so as well reading it, just a pain tracking the damn thing down.
Zombies would work better now, would not use them for that before as they still get butchered and the negative from them dying made it worse than if they never turned up.

Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere but the VC battalion boxed set is no longer available. I only realised today when I was in the local GW. The blue shirt says it's going to be reworked - whether that just means different box artwork or different contents he didn't know though, but it won't be out for at least a couple of months after the army book!

BRB page 52 - "A unit is disrupted if an enemy is attacking it in the flank or rear, and that enemy unit has two or more ranks of at least five models."

BRB page 55 - "It should be noted that a unit does not lose its steadfast status for being disrupted."

Being disrupted doesn't mean you lose steadfast, you just lose your +1 combat resolution for extra ranks.

Here is how it works: If you can cause disruption in a unit, it gains no rank bonus- and therefore it is impossible for that unit to gain steadfast as it in effect as 'zero' ranks because of the disruption :)

The only thing that disruption does is stopping the disrupted unit from receiving combat result points from having extra ranks, it does not actually remove them. Disruption does nothing against steadfast, and I've read many, many complaints about it.

Edit: ...which had already been brought up. Oh well, the point still stands~

Thank you.
I know the rule I just could not remember the wording of it and I don't have the book on hand.

I think it is daft personally, at the very least Cav should negate it.
Anyway I was surprised the first time around as well.

So anyway back on topic, will ghouls be taking leadership tests and does the BSB have any new effects for stopping crumbling that has been whispered about or are people still in the dark?

I'm well aware of the rule. But Zombie units, by virtue of low cost and/or easy healing, are bigger, or can be grown to be bigger rather easily, that most units eitherway. The flank attack disrupts, the unit size destroys their Steadfast. That was my point. :vampire3:
Did I think wrongly then...?

No, but getting a unit of zombies that's big enough to negate steadfast into a position where they can also charge somebody in the flanks might be hard!:)

Sure is daft! By Bretonnian knight lance formations think so too!

Let's try to stay on topic though please.

Thanks[/mod]

I really hope that the BSB does something other then/on top of the +1CR, especially if it's still the same costs as the rest of the BSBs.

It has been asked on WarSeer before, it does the same thing as the TK BSB.

Just picked up the book and gotta say I'm very happy. Not sure if our supersword has been clarified yet, but it gives Devestating Charge, Frenzy, Flaming attacks, the Terrorgheist's Deathly Howl and if he hasn't killed an enemy model by the end of the game he is removed as a casualty.

Also one small thing, all Cairn Wraiths now have the Chill Grasp attack (sacrifice all attacks for one attack that auto-wounds with no armour saves)

Wait, did you say ALL Cairn Wraiths? Units(rares) included?

Yes indeed. Both cairn wraith heroes AND cairn wraith rare choices have it.

Also, one unit of core skeletons can have a 25 point magic banner.

Oh. I stand corrected- I will remember this for my next game :pumpkin:
Seems like the best way to prevent steadfast wil lbe the goold old 5x8 block of skellies :vampire2:

Sounds like some interesting news on our Uber-Sword, very interesting indeed...

Any news on Konrad- has he changed much? (He was my favourite character fro the last book!)

Yeeeeeessssssssss!!!! Really happy to hear that Rare Wraiths still exist. Really didn't know what I was going to do with my 9 otherwise (bar use them for some fillers/conversions).

It feels like the maximised power level of the VC is being reigned in (no stacking buffs/regen on GW GG, more expensive ghouls) but that overall it's becoming a more balanced book. Losing spam casting will make it a less loathed army. I do think we've been a little harshly cheated if we've lost the ability to march for being near Vamps. VHD will have gone from a great threat spell, to something we'll be catching just to keep moving :(

Or you attack from the front with like sixty zombies and flank them with something better like BK. So the odds are your valuable BK won't take much damage whilst doing a lot.

In my opinion, the zombies will get slaughtered, and your BK will have their ass kicked because of the extra losses.

Anyway, I'm more than happy to see our dear zombies are back and healthy (hem). Although I must say their S and T 2 seemed logical to me. But it's true they were totally useless.

Can't wait for that darn book!

Konrad has now 4 attacks but he has lost his infinite hatred, he only have hatred now. Thats all i know.

If you read the Red Duke book, and what he did to his enemies, I think you'd find Blood Dragons more than capable in the "evil" department... :)
