Then a few hours latter I gave up on that idea. And ordered another box. Stealing a idea from Johnny, we have this

@Santa: That is very cool I have not seen the movie so don't know what you are referring to but it still looks great. Will this be taking the place of the lizardman entry in the Mortis Engine challenge?

Yes he is taking over the entry as I was never pleased with the lizard one.

Moving is a tricky thought but the power of the cauldron makes the stones float, across the battlefield, or at least that was my thought on it.

So today I am working on a word bearer rhino.



We are half way there

Then the face with glowing red eyes



I found a use for texture basing as mud on the bottom of a tank.



Finished product. Admire, if you will, the flames, the glowing eyes, the demonic leer. Enjoy!

Arcane ruins kit is where the face be from.it fit the theme so well. At least I thought so.

o start the terror bird before converting.



Lots of work later. Some converting, some green stuff, lots of glue and scenery.



Here’s a cool shot of the bird he’s named after.



Oops wrong one. This is the right one. Though the other is sure to give you indigestion.



So we got the wash on him now. Two coats of earthshade.



Now the serious painting begins.

The eyeballs are going to be a creepy freaky red.
Here is how they start.



Painted the eyeball itself black. Washed the socket nuln oil.



The center is painted red gore, leaving the outside edges black.



A bit off center, more to the front of the face, paint a circle of squig orange. Highlight the larger part of the darker part with red gore.



Last, paint the pupil in with black.



Creepy bird eyes done. This method also works really well for wolves and reptiles if you change the pupil.

Now on to the feathers. Light drybrushed.



Got him finished last night and went to bed. Had a nightmare about Kevin cuddling with me. Okay he wasn’t cuddling me he was eating me.

By the way I decided to call him Kevin after watching Up with the kids for the millionth time.



Well here Kevin is based. Enjoy!
