Are those bases you put them on part of those kits?

They are Malifaux, but I have not really gotten into, or purchased many of those minis. I'm assuming they are not part of the kit normally but something you have to get on the side?

they are a separate kit and the customer really wanted them so he got them for me to do the basing with. They looked awesome when done. Was a pain matching the mini's to a few due to hard to find foot placement. But it all worked out in the end. Glad I dry fitted everything before gluing.

Yeah, I noticed a few looked a bit less than stable looking :ghost: I dunno, they do look great, but I would be sooooo worried about them breaking off. There doesn't even look like there is room to pin those connections on some of them :skull: Very delicate models.

Today we shall have undead dire wolves. I will go through how to paint them in my style. Along with a few funnies and jokes. As always mine is not the only way of Doing them but its my way. One I enjoy and like the results.

First up inspiration photo,



First step is a base coat of black. Either abbadon black or chaos black. I usually use the primer chaos black then touch up any spots needing it. As seen in this photo.



The next step is a drybrush of shadow grey. Many may look at drybrushing as a beginner skill but even deamon award winners and eavy metals use it. The more skills one has master the closer they get to mastery over there art.



I think I should also mention that this project is me teaching my daughter dry brushing. The above was fully drybrushed by her.



The next step is a light drybrush of codex grey. My daughter tried but lost interest she has such short attention spans at times. This step is to lighten the model for the wash. Together the effect makes a fairly realistic effect.



Te next step is a black wash badab or nuln oil both work good for this. Today I shall be using nuln oil.



This would be fun to do before selling a house.



Now with the fur and skin of the wolves done teeth claws and bones that are sticking out all get painted bleached bone. Claws and teeth then get washed sepiathe bones get earthshade. I use sepia to ivory the claws and teeth. Bones get a dirty feel as if the body
Was buried.



Next is the torn flesh. Basecoat tuskgor fur. This will give a fairly natural torn muscle color. Then I wash It nuln oil, when dries it gives it a dried flesh look. Like meat that has dries on the counter.



Lastly I used reapers walnut to line the gums and paint his nose. I used bloodred and black to do his eyes. Sadly the eye does not show up well in this photo. But here he is the finished dire wolf.

I have made many headless figures, but here is my newest one.

I am trying something new with this one using necron compound instead of bolt gun.



A thought that I know is true win or lose.



After the wash I feel I dislike it. So I will still be using my old style of doing them. Until the hairs on my feet fall out.



Sometimes you just need to have something sexy in the plog.



Back to the headless one decorating his armor with some golds in hope to salvage him. For most heroic kings are buried with there best armor and weapons. The red feather is to help tie him to my army colors. In the end he isn’t bad looking just not what I prefer.

Well this tree needs no one to speak for it. It does not fear the ax but only feels anger at the wielder.

So this is my assemble treemen for the earth day project. Now everyone go out and burn a tree wait I mean everyone go out and plant a tree. Except if your in Wyoming As it is yet again snowing here.



Planning to paint this one like a birch tree.



So to start I primed him white then washed him black. There is a method to my madness.



With stick and stone earth day is complete.



Then onto the next stage of tree making.

Earth day was started in 1970 on april 22nd but at that time only the United States celebrated it. Then in 1990 the United Nations took it world wide.

On a side note the first earth day was also on Vladimir Lenin’s 100th birthday.any thought earth day at the time was a communist trick. Which was supported by the fact Lenin had a day called the subbotnik. Which was a day people did community service picking up trash and collecting recyclables.

What is earth day ?

It is a day for environment awareness, many lectures on global warming and other earth issues are held this day. A day to recycle and reflect what kind of world do we wish to leave our children.

I feel like not nearly enough people paint up "Treefolk" as birch wood, and IMO it's one of the prettiest types of wood/bark.

Yellowstone volcano is now thought to be 50 percent bigger then once thought. It’s magma pool is believed to be 37 miles long 18 miles wide and 5 to 7 miles deep. Last large eruption was 640000 years ago smaller eruptions happened 70000 years ago. The next major eruption is believed to be thousands of years from now. But they do not discount that it could happen at any time.

Due to weather and being out of green stuff I have to do a alternate project. So off my shelf comes the tiger tank.For the much enjoyed pleasure it shall bring to finish this mighty tank. Makes me want to ask when the next Apocalypse game is now.Here is a wip from when I started it long ago.

I actually got inspiration for this tank from history.

I have cleaned up all the stripes and over spray now and started the tracks.

Wip I darkened the tracks and did some more stripe clean up that I had found.



I can answer this one it is because I am shooting it.



Now onto the guns least they feel neglected.

The littlest ghoul was watching me paint, asking what things were. I’ve got ogryn and a baneblade on the table. So I told her. Next thing I know, she points at the baneblade and says “Those go shoot shoot shoot!” I nodded and agreed. She then pointed at the ogryn. “And those go ow ow ow!”
Yes, Gabby. Ogryn lose to baneblades.



Sigh one can tell the tank drivers are male due to the pin up poster they keep near the ammo locker.



Now it was a fight to get the mechanic to let me get the secret photos of the engine. I had to acquire him a girls of the imperial guard calendar. A hard find due to being a forbidden publication. Highly sanctioned by the inquisition.



There are many tanks but this tank is special for it is mine. But the real question is where did I park mine they all look alike.



Finally the name some dirt and finalshots. We named it Tygra who can tell me where I got that name.
