I agree they do need more exposure, A awsome line of minitures. I ordered the rules for the warlord game and going to see how it play's.

Well it was a week does that count I actaully finished more then this but this was my vampire counts stuff the rest was reaper and other minitures for a freind.

Simply awesome. Such huge amounts of models, it never stops to amaze me. Great work as usual friend.

I love the female zombies! The blood smeared all over really makes them look gory and creepy.

And Neferata is looking sharp! I love the blueish colour you've achieved on her.

In all seriousness I think the banner should have quite an ethereal presence to it, a lot of muted and ghostly colours, maybe some light blues and greys and things. Do you know where you're going to paint it... I mean do you have the standard ready to paint on and you're looking for picture ideas or are you thiunking about the whole standard bearer model too?

It is really that big she is a old chainmail figure I think she was a death cleric if I remember right.

Scyla looks good. I like the black skin but I would change the collour of his tongue so it doesn´t look like some skin is coming out of his mouth. The collar might need some extra attention too.

The zombie dragon look good too, but isn´t it a little big small to cary a vampire on it´s back? I just get the impression it´s too small.

the tounge is a diffrent black then the rest of him, so in person it looks like a silva covered tounge it is glossed black. I picture him burned both inside and out with the fires of chaos. the pictures truely did not do him justice sigh.

Well its the older classic dragon and it has carried vampires into battle for years. Though anymore I don't field him with the vampires, it is mounted on the correct base and is game legal. Though yes it is smaller then the elven dragon's

Got the banner peice in front of my to paint. The standard bearer will match my unit, I am just trying to get the banner done. I seen a few as graveyards but that doesnt seem right. hoping to have my gravegaurd finished soonish.

Well of course by "barrow" they mean the excavated burial mound tombs that the GG and Wight Kings are so often procured from, so that's probably why there are many with the graveyard theme, since the typical barrow would just look like a hill.

However, one way to go would be to have a mausoleum-like door or lintel set into a hill, perhaps with some creepy trees and a big spooky moon behind them.

Although that sort of imagery is pretty vague for the onlooker, probably not very readable on the battlefield, which is the last thing you want. Obviously you want your banner to be impressive and intimidating instead of a "what's that on the banner?"

So I would go for something more specific to the Grave Guard themselves, particularly as the Banner of the Barrows is GG/BK exclusive anyway. Could simply do something along the lines of a screaming helmed skull with a latin banner beneath it, perhaps something similar stylized with elements of viking or perhaps even older celtic style art, which I would suppose would be appropriate to those earlier empire-area cultures that the Grave Guards were from. And of course, having something more about the unit than the particular effects of a magic banner serves the practical interest of being able to still use it for a unit standard without any art-based confusion.
