But with a twist I was asked to do the skin and hair a specific way. Nothing new requests and instructions are a life blood of painting. It was the non miniature examples that are unique.

so today I put a few orders in for this army. Feels exciting. Soon the pirates shall walk again under the sea. I mean on the sea shore where you pick up sea shells.

anyways gw does not offer much of what I need got a base for my wee beastie and new brushes sadness.

reaper on the other hand gave me alot of razig pirates stuff it is awesome.


Which brings me to my question.

dire wolves I was wanting something to represent them on the battlefield I was thinking sharks. (we are pirates after all).

what are you thoughts and besides the reaper models what can you find model wise.

Nice GS sculpting and very nice colours. How did you paint the hair? I always found it hard to paint hair so that it look natural, and blonde the hardest of them all colours.

Started out the hair reaper clotted red
then a layer of watered down ungor flesh
then I drybrushed it ungor flesh (yes it sounds odd but its what I did hair isnt always the same shade trust me here)
then I added a watered down layer of reaper redstone highlight
fallowed that with a painted on highlights of reaper blonde hair.

So my oldest took the reward stickers out of the front seat. I threatened to call the cops on her. She apologized and that was that until we went into the pizza place and there were cops gettingtheir lunch. I seized the moment and got the cop to remind Judy that kids who steal go to jail. Judy is still terrified the cops will take her, but I am certain she won’t steal from anyone ever.

Alright, moving on.

Do those back-backs date to a time when they were functional wargear for the EC? They look like speakers, which makes me think they were once some sorta weapon-type thing for them, but maybe it's just style?

God, Slaanesh is the best though, I always find It's followers the coolest, and EC are by far the best of any type of marines.. And 40k got Lucius, who is kinda completely better than Sigvald :ghost: Kinda makes me sad.

So today we shall talk about, pirates. Especially the zombie pirate kind. This is how I shall be doing them.



I wanted a bloated decayed look as if they had been soaked in the sea. So in the end I settled upon a base coat of nurgling green.



I added a drybrush of under hive ash, oh how I miss rotted flesh.



As we wash the entire model now its time to do the rest before the final wash.

Onto his bone weapon for this I used screaming skull. I did this as some of the models will have bone faces and such. Was showing how the wash shall look on then latter.



As the cloths do not matter as I will alternate them being pirates and all. So here he is washed. I added all the remaining details first.

Woo Santa, these are looking pretty darn sweet! I love the whole Zombie pirate theme. Have you thought of mixing the the Free Company with the Grave Guard kit? You get some nice ethereal looking results if you use the GG legs.

So we shall do a night lord sorcerer today.



Inspiration art



I am taking alot of liberties with the figure in assuming the night lords would of had a librarium. Being only two legions to my knowledge actually refused to have them. That being the world eaters and the death guard. Ironic as typhus became one later through the chaos God nurgle.

Now onto more gold work and highlights.



Chaos sorcerers remind me alot of dark Jedi. Being seduced by the dark side of the warp and twisted into a being of evil.



Chaos reminds me of that scene in the hobbit where the creatures of the forest are dying. I see chaos as a poison slowly choking the life out of the world. So in retrospect I guess I’m evil for playing chaos. And letting it choke the fluffy bluebunnies to death.

Sadly they have a turn off with the chainmail on them. It isn't pirate enough for me. But thanks for helping I really appreciate the suggestion.

So today I found some toy sharks that are perfect for my dire wolves. They also yielded new extras for the kids such as sting rays and whale sharks

Nihilan of the dragon warriors a powerful servant of chaos. Once a honorable and mighty salamander. Now fallen or in some people’s eyes risen to a higher purpose.
