Thanks @Borgnine Yes, I wanted to fill the front area so it looks more crowded, looks better like that IMO :)

I have now highlighted most of the bone areas

By the way, here's a pic of my gaming table. I made some warpstone obstacles, very easy and fast to make. And now I have some proper terrain for my games, today I am facing Warriors of Chaos in a 2400pts battle using 8th edition rules.

I like to watch batreps while I'm setting up a game  It's like vikings eating mushrooms before the battle but totally different.

So I decided to gather all my vamps together, finished and unfinished ones. I'm sure I'm missing at least one strigoi and blood dragon, and I have Zacharia's ZD in a box, but that's still about 30 vamps in that pile! Only if they were all painted up

Btw, do any of you happen to know a site which shows every vampire model GW has made?

All of a sudden.. Fell batsies!

Very simple painting, drybrushing and washing :) I am one of those who thinks the official fell bat models are nice, and quite frankly, cute too :D

And I finished the Mortis Engine too! It was very hard to photograph, but these will have to do.

I think that the spirit horde is too plain, and needs more contrast. I loved painting this thing but I love the fact that I don't ever need to do it again :D

@Borgnine Yes that mat is from DeepCut Studios based in Lithuania, easy to storage and great when moving large regiments on the table, no flipping over. And I'm actually thinking of blood knight unit with all the different vampire bloodlines in it, that way I can actually field my beloved vampires more than using them only as characters.

It was worth the effort, your Engine looks awesome.

And I've thought about multi bloodline Blood Knights off and on before. The Ghoul King from the TBat kit fits right on a Dire Wolf's back. Do with that what you will.

Cool batsies! They are indeed cute, those green eyes contrast with them nicely. Not as good as the necromancer's red robe contrasts with the rest of his ride. Very nice work, even though I think the ghosts look a little flat too - but maybe that's their charm? Since when incorporeal ghosts cast and receive shadows? ;)

The idea about diversified blood knight unit is beyond awesome - please do not hesitate to do them :)

Thanks for the kind words everybody! And my apologies for not replying, I guess life happened at that time. Can't recall :D
Anyways I've got news for you. Next weekend I'm attending to Talvisota 2017 (winter war 2017) miniature gaming tournament in Helsinki Finland. I am going to play 9th age 1.3 with my Vamps! So this means a bloody, painful, frustrating and hopefully rewarding painting spree. I am going to start today painting Grave Guard. Tomorrow I will write down my army list and submit it to the tournament organizers, so then I know what will be on the painting table. Stay tuned!

Thanks! @Farmer7574 It's good to be back :) This weekend I have time to work more on Grave Guards, hopefully I will finish them wholly (wholly? can I use that word, sounds weird). Anyways, yes, good to hear the colors work well. They do fit in my overall theme. @Nagash Worshiper I have lots of ethereal units so I painted the swords the same way :) @Borgnine I loved playing at the tournament, such a great people to play with! But well, gamewise it didn't go so well, my position was 20/20, 3x 20-0 losses and 2x 10-10 draws. I don't mind :) Out of 20 players ~10 of them was ETC professionals. It is good practice to play against "the best".

More updates soon!

As it happens, I speedpainted my Hexwraiths for the upcoming battle! Here you go:

I replaced the original scythes for Zombie scythes, looks.. well I think they look better like this, too much things happening in the Hexwraiths' "default" scythes :D

And here's a random picture from our local Gaming Club (Sumppi Ry) with my undead posing with some awesome mordheim terrain made by our member!

@Farmer7574 Yeah, I've got 40 of them total, bought them from random sellers throughout the years. For me the old school Vampire Counts models brings out so many good memories when I started playing Warhammer, from time to time I read the 6th edition army book for the manly tears

@Nagash Worshiper Tonight I'm going to undercoat them and start painting, ghouls are easy to paint, just skin, weapons and joincloth. I think if I get myself a glass of whisky and a good TV-series in the background I will get them ready for tournament without a serious struggle.

Well, at least you had fun at the tournament and that's what counts :D

That setting with all the background really adds to the army - even though the Black Coach and the Mortis Engine seems to have a traffic problem on their hands ;) That oldie metal collection looks promising - good luck painting all that! ;)

Thanks for the feedback @Borgnine ! I haven't even started painting ghouls yet, I'm afraid I will not make it. But zombie dragon is progressing, here's a wip pic:
