Still some shading/washing to do, but it is almost done! Can't wait to get my hands on Zacharias.

Finished the dragon today! Washes left too much shininess to my taste, but overall I'm happy how this came out. It was a hard model to paint, lots of bone, flesh and skin bits here and there, I think I missed some bony bits, but it's not too visible. Now the fun part, Zacharias :)

You posted the finished version after I clicked on your thread to comment, that was a surprise ;) A good one! It's a cool dragon and well painted - gore looks especially nice. Reminds me of the one GW had on their webpage long time ago ;)

As for the glossiness - there's always matt varnish or Army Painted 'Anti-Shine' ;)

@Borgnine Yea, I have ASF :D Thanks for the comments lads! Ah, the old GW site and all their conversion, tactics and painting tips. Not to forget the bits mail order, good times. I should buy some matt varnish, I haven't actually varnished any of my models, so far the paint hasn't ripped off, but for the gloss reasons I should start varnishing. @Theerteen I know what you mean, the posing is like the 6th edition Lord of Changes' crazy ADHD jumping kind of pose :D

Thanks @Shadespyre I will post pics of the rider soon, it is already finished :) But now I have something completely similar:

Varghulf ready for battle! It was almost like painting the zombie dragon, but smaller :D

@Farmer7574 Thanks! Hahah, I didn't realize the terminator eye/bone -thing :D Once seen can never be unseen!
@Borgnine Thank you too! I think the model's size is alright for varghulf, but it could be larger. I will consider adding some blood on it, I kinda think the same.

Here's my Black Knights! I painted them super-fast 3 days before a tournament! (missed the CN-competition for 1 day tho) No conversions whatsoever, I just needed three units of 5 black knights. Yes, I have 10 black knights already, but since I had so little time, I could not start converting the missing 5 from bretonnia knights, so I just used empire and bretonnia knights and painted them as seen, spooky :) Maybe I'll fix some lazy highlights some day, but they look ok on the tabletop tho!

9th Age actually :D Maybe they are called Infernal Dwarves in KoW also! Yeah they have these demonic burning flyer things, monstrous infantry plus a load of special rules. I am not sure how they are described in the "official fluff" but this guy used burning birds :D
Kadim Incarnates they are called.

Hello! Long time no ocean! I have been super busy again, school, life and miniature projects too! I just finished my army for the Midlands GT 2017, and thought to post some pictures for you guys!

I think this is the first time I really have fully painted army in tournament. I mean really fully painted! Matching movement trays for every unit, zombies finally finished properly and everything. What do you think about the overall look?

And here is the list I'm using:

Vampire Count: [Occultism], Nosferatu, Dead Arise, Arcane Knowledge, Zombie Dragon, Obsidian Nullstone, Charm of Cursed Iron, Unholy Tome, Wizard Master, 3(4) learned spells: 1250pts
Necromancer: [Evocation], Dispell Scroll: 260pts
40 Skeletons: champion, standard bearer, musician: 420pts
22 zombies: standard, musician: 162pts
22 zombies: standard, musician: 162pts
10 Dire wolves: champion: 160pts
5 Barrow Knights: standard bearer: 200pts
5 Barrow Knights: standard bearer: 200pts
5 Barrow Knights: 180pts
9 Spectral Hunters, Champion: 640pts
Dark Coach 440: extended chassis 20: 460pts
Varkolak: 360pts

Total: 4454

What a magnificent army! It looks coldly menacing even on such a table ;) I like how one can immediately spot the vampires and etherals. Since when are you working on this? Also, what's the deal with those wide sides for the unit trays? It looks plenty good, but isn't it cumbersome when gaming and needing to actually touch other units?
